All I can say is wow wow wow.
Stop your search Makiwa Kenya Safaris are the ones to book with.
From the first communication with Tim, the booking process, custom itinerary, our guide John (more on him in a moment), the 4WD van, the animals, accommodation, the price, experiences, memories and everything in between, it has all been incredible and has given us memories we will cherish for the rest of our lives.
Tim the owner is absolutely incredible. From the first contact, to the ongoing communication, reassurance and answering my constant questions (I like to know as much as possible about any trips we book) he was always friendly, and quick to answer and be all around helpful.
John was our guide for the 10 day safari. We were picked up at the airport in Nairobi. We stayed in a local and super friendly AirBnB and then visited Samburu, Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli. John made an incredible trip ever more memorable.
Always cheerful and excited to see us but more than that he has to be one of the best in the business.
His knowledge of the areas, the animals, the parks and his ability to make sure you get the best views possible made our trip quite possibly one of my most favourite yet.
Our vehicle was a 4WD van with a popup roof and it was perfect. Roomy, comfortable with 360views at all times. It also equalled if not bettered the LandCruiser type jeeps and whereas we seen them get stuck multiple times John flew through and navigated any seemingly tough terrain with a smile on his face.
I can whole-heartily recommend Makiwa Kenya Safaris and if you’ve decided to do a Safari in Kenya, stop your search right now and see if Tim and Makiwa have availability - you will not be disappointed.
I’m already planning our return.
Oh and if you can upgrade your trip to include the Balloon Ride in Masai Mara, and the boat ride and walk amongst the animals in lake Naivasha.
It’ll be one of the best decisions you ever make.

Was my first time in Africa, went solo, and got lucky to be meet up with two sisters from Australia, and Marvin, our guide. The four of us drove around the country taking in the view and eating, lots of eating, for a week. He knew about the land and animals, and just made us feel welcome.
I found him through a travel agent I knew and trusted, and now trust Marvin too. Really makes a difference having someone who knows their trade at your side, who’s got your back, and who is funny.
It was a great trip. Hope to head back someday.

A fantastic trip to a beautiful country, I was lucky to have a super helpful guide (Marvin) who took us to know the world of the jungle in loco 👌 A remarkable trip for a lifetime.

This company owner Mr. Timothy is a cheat, we had paid 14000 USD for the bookings at the forest lodges. On itinerary he had confirmed the best lodges and on basis of that we had made the advance payment. After reaching Nairobi he didn't come to meet us and neither he gave the booking vouchers to the driver and we had to make own arrangements paying extra cost at many places.
If anyone wants to travel Kenya please look for reputed operator and take the copies of all the booking vouchers, NP entrance fee voucher.
We tried to call him more then 50 times or more he is not responding to any of that.
Basically one should be very cautious before choosing the tour operator.

The marvellous Marvin!!!
Marvin was our tour guide when we embarked on our trip to Kenya! We had a 6 night Safari trip which included the Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru & Amboseli… and oh my god, we could not have wished for a better tour guide!!! Marvin was absolutely AMAZING! He had so much knowledge on the parks and animals & we felt so comfortable with him. Marvin did everything he could to provide us with the best Safari experience, he catered to our needs & ensured that we saw as many animals as possible! The whole trip went incredibly smoothly & we genuinely don’t think it would have been the same without him! Thank you for being so amazing & we really hope that we will be able to Safari with you again soon!!! Sending our best wishes - Steven & Levi
