Spent 2 nights. In the Karen area of Nairobi where it seems everything is called Karen Blixen. Hotel and rooms (cottage style) is of the colonial era and reminiscent of that time. Property is lush with trees and plants and well maintained. Rooms are big and fit the vintage / colonial style. Restaurant and bar connected to the hotel provides... More

The garden is worth the visit. If you been in Nairobi's busy traffic and just need to relax with a decent meal and a great coffee this is a nice place. The food is lovely and the prices are fair. The hospitality is friendly and everything is very clean. As a treat for tourist with children, who just want their... More

I decided to try this place on this trip as I had not been there before. The grounds are lovely and the restrooms very clean. I had lunch with my driver and was impressed by the quality of the food. The portions are way too large but it is good. It is not an inexpensive place but still glad we... More

While sitting there one finds himself wondering how it might have been 'back-in-the-days', when Karen herself walked these grounds....lovely place!

The tour was very informative and enjoyable. It took about 30 minutes. If you are a fan, I suggest watching the movie Out of Africa before taking the tour. Close by is the Kazuri Bead Factory which I highly recommend touring. It supports single mothers and widows and their bead jewelry for purchase is beautiful. Enjoy!

Second visit the this restaurant. Beautiful gardens and wonderful food. This time on a Sunday and we had the Buffet - amazing selection of all types of food. Salads, cold things, stews and wonderful barbecued meats and fish. Scrummy puddings as well! The staff are simply perfect - from the gate people to the car park attendant and all those... More

We had fish which was nice however a friend received fish that was undercooked. We had much apologies for this happening and was quickly rectified. Unfortunately our waiter did not offer the best service but we can overlook this because of the meal and surroundings

Beautiful estate, self guided. Just ok. I loved the trees and the simple kitchen. Its amazing how cool the house was with the blazing sun outside.
