Our family (married couple with children (ages 26 and 20) had the most amazing experience climbing Mount Kenya (Point Lenana) with Lastmile Treks. I was concerned that we were biting off more than we could chew. My wife and I are in our early 60s and are fairly "active" but have limited time for exercise in our busy lives. I had been to an altitude 2,000 feet lower than Lenana 35 years ago and had suffered from moderate altitude sickness (so wondered how my body 35 years older would respond to an even higher altitude). Our guides, David, Michael, and John were amazing! They helped us manage the altitude without suffering from altitude sickness. The keys were staying hydrated, planning a gradual ascent over three days, and walking at a slow pace (also we took Diamox which probably helped). Was great to have a team of porters to carry our gear requiring us to only carry a day pack with items needed while walking. On the summit day our guides even carried daypacks (for my wife and I). I was told my job was to take pictures and enjoy the scenery (which was absolutely breathtaking)! I appreciated all the kindness and knowledge shared by our team including small touches like hot lunches cooked and served in remote locations and having a few porters climbed close to the summit to serve us hot tea and mandazi's on our decent. Making the climb was exhausting and challenging (in the best way). I doubt my wife would have summited without the support of our guides (John literally held my wife's hand for the final 25% of the ascent and for much of the descent which kept her safe (I was concern she might fall given the combination of fatigue and loose stones on steep slope). Our kids were able to handle the climb without much difficulty. Was a joy witnessing how happy they were on the mountain. It was the family trip of a lifetime! I highly recommend Lastmile and Mount Kenya families (or anyone) looking for an adventure. One word of caution, consider the weather/seasons when planning your trip. We planned the trip at a time that fit our schedules without considering the weather and were lucky to avoid encountering any rain.

Majority call it, Mountains of the moon. Rwenzori Mountain is a collection of 4 block mountains based west of Kampala City. It has permanent ice glaciers at the top and that was my lure.

My journey with LastMile Treks started before the climb with a brief about expectations, what to prepare for and what to expect day by day. Rwenzori terrain is different on each day.

Our chief guide was readily available to describe the rare flora and fauna.
He was attentive to our well being, monitored health vital checks daily and the meals provided were noteworthy considering the location.
I appreciated the hot tea brought on the trail when I traveled till late in the night. The snacks provided during the trek were well thought through; an energy drink, a fruit, a sweet snack.

Is the trail challenging? Absolutely yes.
Is it worth it? Absolutely yes.
Lots of great picture moments.

Overall, Lastmile Treks didn't disappoint.
I recommend without hesitation any hiker planning to go to Rwenzori to use them. But please first train, train, train.

Lastmile took great care of myself and two friends as we summited Mount Kenya's Lenana peak via the Sirimon route. David organized everything including transit from Nairobi and some rental gear for pieces we didn't own. We stayed in the mountain's permanent huts which were very convenient, so I can't speak to a tent camping experience. Lastmile made hot meals at every stop and guided us well. For trekking Mount Kenya I would *definitely* recommend them, and I plan on booking again in the future to do the Chogoria route.

Excellent!
We booked a Kilimanjaro trek and climb with Lastmile Treks and are extremely satisfied.
David, the owner, picked us up at the airport at 3AM and immediately drove with us to the Tanzanian border.
After passing through the border we stayed in Moshi and the day after met our expedition team.
Words cannot describe the friendliness and professionalism of the mountain team.
Our guides Amiri and Ben, cook Afeela and porters (Radja, Frank, ...) were the best ever.
Warm meals 3 times a day on the mountain, guidance during the trek, carrying our tent and belongings, support during the summit evening...

These guys are amazing!!

I would recommend this team to everyone!!!

The well managed , predictable and seamless handling of our entire experience is something we have come to expect and enjoy whenever we travel using David and Last Mile Treks. The guided are extremely helpful, professional and flexible, on top of being very knowledgeable about every conceivable aspect of the hike. The meals were first rate and the support of the whole team made sure all went on without a hitch. It is always a pleasure hiking with David and Team especially considering the fact that it is the most affordable option vis the quality

Lastmile succeeded wonderfully in ensuring that our party of 4 climbers, a mix of youth, inexperience and senilty, made it to the top of Lenana and back in 3 days. The guides, John Ndegwa and John Muthomo, proved they were guided by a genuine duty of care, Chef Joseph and waiter David supplied us with endless sustenance and 8 porters made our climb bearable, even enjoyable. All were a great credit to Kenya.

I cannot recommend David and his team highly enough! The organisation and equipment provided were first rate and the team were all incredible - their knowledge of the mountain is second to none and their patience to help clients up and down is incredible. We always felt safe and an unexpected highlight was the mountains of delicious food. Would 100% use them again

I spent 6 days in Kenya. David organized everything I wanted. He personally picked me up at the airport when I arrived. On the first day, I went on a walking sightseeing tour of the city with him. We took a walk in the city center and around the parliament. We went to the top of a tower block, from where we had a beautiful view of the whole city. Then helped me to change money, and later took me to the local market. On the second day, I climbed the Longonot volcano, which is a moderate hike, a good "warm-up" before Mount Kenya. The crater is beautiful, it is worth climbing and walking around the rim. The use of sunscreen is essential and a hiking stick is also recommended, because the path is sometimes steep. We saw zebras on the way. On the next three days I climbed the Mount Kenya. I was absolutely satisfied with my entire team. Everyone helped me with everything. Grateful thanks to all of them. My guide, cook and porter did an excellent job. The food was very tasty. We spent the nights in huts. I have climbed 72 volcanoes until now but Mount kenya has one of the nicest summit among them. The sunrise is amazing. On my last day, on the way to the airport, the driver took me to a supermarket. In summary, Lastmile Treks was an excellent choice. I can only recommend them.

From the very beginning we felt very well informed, and despite our luggage delay, David was able to quickly adapt our trip dates in order for us to have the best possible experience. So glad I came to know David from Lastmile Treks. His team of experienced guides and porters got us (a team of 13) to the roof of Africa on my previous hike of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Nothing can describe my gratitude to these guys but all I can say, their summit success rate is 99.9% if you consider climbing with me.
I look forward for the next expedition with these amazing humans. Thank you
