I organised an overnight tailored itinerary to the Rift Valley with Perfect Safaris (October 2023, travelling with business colleagues) which included a safari at Lake Nakuru and some other sightseeing located with geocaches. I sent my ideas to the team beforehand, and they came back with some suggestions, an itinerary and costing.
We were picked up promptly by Dennis as agreed and headed west. On the first day we stopped at the Rift valley look out, the Karianusi Prehistoric site, had lunch at Nakuru Lodge and then did an afternoon safari at Lake Nakuru. Dennis was very good at spotting all the animals, including a very well camouflaged lion lying in the grass. The trip took a little longer than planned as we went on a back road to the prehistoric site, but we visited all the places we planned and had time for a shower and a relaxed dinner at the local resort in Nakuru.
The next day we visited the Menengai crater very early, which was amazing, then picked up an extra guide as we went off track to grab the oldest geocache in Arica near Lomolo. Dennis wanted the assurance of someone who spoke the local language just in case. Happily, we did not need that skill, but we were all reassured about having an extra guide join us just in case and he was expert on the local roads - which was just as well! Having made it to this special geocache on the equator, we headed south to Lake Naivasha for another wildlife adventure via a short boat and then back to Nairobi where Dennis dropped by our hotels to collect our bags and then dropped us at the airport.
We followed our planned itinerary well and met all our objectives for the trip. Dennis was an amazing guide and driver, and enjoyed the extra off-roading we squeezed in on our way to Lomolo from the east and north. There were a couple of extra costs in addition to the cost of the safari (drinks at Lake Nakuru lodge, the extra guide), but nothing unexpected and we felt we got good value overall!
Thanks for Perfect Safaris and Dennis for a wonderful adventure and helping us explore a little bit of the Rift Valley and grab some amazing geocaches along the way!

We had a great 3-day tour at Maasai Mara. We were picked up at the Nairobi airport (20 USD). The drive to Maasai Mara in the van took us about 5 hours. When we reached the camp, we were positively surprised! Each couple gets an own tent which even has a private bathroom (with shower, toilet). Food was good as well.
The game tours were great: an afternoon tour on day 1, the whole day 2 and for the day 3 you can choose between another hour of game tour or a visit to a Maasai village (10 more USD). We chose the village which was a nice experience.
Bring sweets for the children at the Maasai village! :)

We brought the entire family (14 of us) to Kenya and chose Perfect Safaris to plan the trip. We did most the items they offer from the Elephant Orphanage to Hot Air Balloon. It was well organized and a great time was had by all. Everyone we dealt with was great from office staff (Betty) to our guides (Sammy and Charo). I highly recommend doing a family trip with Perfect Safaris!

If you are looking to book a safari using this company, please take my advice and avoid them!
Some key points of our mid-luxury safari with "perfect" safaris:
- They sub-contracted our Masaai Mara safari to another organisation (without telling us), who then didn't follow the itinerary we paid for, partly because they had no idea what our schedule was! They didn't even know what lodges/hotels we were staying at.
- We had a tour 'guide' who didn't speak to guests or provide any information. They spent most of the game drives on their mobile phone instead.
- Broken vehicles (tyres, windows, seatbelts, chairs!) throughout
- The guide turned up significantly late for every game drive, which meant we then didn't have any of the full drives we'd paid for. We were often left waiting at the hotel reception, unsure whether the driver was actually going to turn up, or not. We failed to see the migration of animals across the Masaai river because the tour guide turned up late, then took us to the river 2 hours after the migration occurs. We spent a lot of time driving round in circles because the driver didn't seem to know his way around the Masaai Mara!
- Multiple days of the safari were completely wasted, all so that the company could save money; we were passed from one vehicle to another, squeezed into vans that were already full and even left in the middle of nowhere for an hour to wait for someone to pick us up. One of the drivers even commented that it was unsafe but said "I just do what I am told".
- Awful customer support throughout; they did not respond to emails, whatsapp messages or phone calls throughout our trip when issues arose. There was a complete reluctance from Perfect Safaris to resolve issues or accept fault. Despite the guides making numerous promises to me that management would contact me, I am still waiting! My emails to Perfect Safari post-trip to discuss these issues are also being ignored.

We booked a three day/ two night Masai Mara safari through another agency and they put us with this agency. Our driver was Robert. This review is based on our driver.
Robert was kind, helpful and always smiling. He was always on time and looked for ways for us to get the best out of our holiday. I would recommend Robert as a driver. He was safe and was great at helping locate the different animals in the park.

We had an amazing day with our guide, Scar! He found great animal sightings during our game drive and was very knowledgeable about the animals. He took us to the elephant orphanage and giraffe center and made the whole day so fun and we didn’t have to worry about any logistics because he had them all taken care of! He also took us to a great lunch spot. Overall an amazing day in Kenya!

I booked this a day tour one day in advance. I had just arrived on a long haul flight and was tired, the guide was excellent and perked me up. He was enthusiastic and knew about Nairobi and the sights we were visiting. I highly recommend the company as had a thoroughly enjoyable tour.

Peter (Ravin) was the best tour guide I ever had. Knowledgeable, intelligent, funny. If you don’t want to bike you can choose to do it by car. Lion King movie and out of Africa movie were filmed there. You get to see all the vegetarian animals during that tour as well. He was on time. He asked us about gift shops and bathroom breaks, no pressure. He answered ALL of our questions.

This was the most amazing trip ever. George was our driver and became our amazing friend on this 14 day adventure. He invited us into his wonderful country and even into his home to meet his family You will not ever find a better company or person to work with in Africa for your dream safari. (He makes a pretty good purple plumber also).

We had a very good experience in dealing with Perfect Safaris. The responsiveness was overall very high. We had planned a private tour in which they advised swiftly and to the point. Unfortunately our trip could not go ahead. We were very happy with how they dealt with this and reimbursed us to the extend possible.
