We had an absolutely amazing time on this trip! The transport, accommodation, food, and most of all our driver Joseph were all excellent! He really went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience possible. All the staff in the lodge were very friendly and welcoming. The accommodation was very nice. The game drives were well organised and we got to see so many animals in very close proximity. We saw lions up close every day and saw cheetahs and leopard as well which was a real treat! Would definitely recommend choosing this tour and would absolutely recommend Joseph as your driver and guide.

My nephew and I planned this safari for 16 years and it was truly wonderful! Joseph our guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable. Apart from missing one game drive late afternoon due to a downpour of rain and concerns over the vehicle getting stuck, which also affected us the following morning getting out by being towed to the main track from the base camp, each of the game drives we achieved were truly incredible! Our guide made every effort to make sure we maximised our chances of seeing the big 5 and other wildlife along the way. Our accommodation was disrupted the first of our 3 nights away as a previous guest checking out had become suddenly unwell meaning she had to stay in the room we had booked for an extra night. The basecamp arranged for us to stay in a nearby hotel (not quite as nice) and gave us a complementary bottle of wine to thank us for the inconvenience. We moved to our booked accommodation the following morning with as minimal disruption as possible with the help of the hotel staff. Even when there were disruptions to our plan, the hotel and our safari guide made every effort to make our trip as positively memorable as possible. I highly recommend this tour company and the basecamp we stayed at.

We had an absolutely brilliant time. The service and communication with Shoor Safari was faultless. Jane, our booking agent was very professional; no question or query was too big or small. I counted 41 correspondences between us and each time she was consistently helpful, answering any questions I had. Anthony, our tour guide was an absolute star. He is the best of Kenya hospitality. He was incredibly knowledgeable, educating us not only about the animals on our drives but about Mara/Kenya in general. More importantly he was very patient and flexible which when traveling with kids was invaluable to our experience. An all-around lovely guy! We wouldn't have wanted anybody else to be our guide. Would definitely recommend staying at Sanctuary Olonana as part of your package. The hotel is a modern sanctuary on the Masai River.

I have earlier in 2019 experienced Masai Mara with a group of friends when we spent 2 nights at the Sarova Mara game camp. This time there was a 3-year old baby with us, so we had to schedule the rides outside the camp according to her sleeping schedule, but that also gave me a good excuse to sleep longer and enjoy a late breakfast. But even if we now had a bit less time watching animals, we were very lucky to see almost all the big animals, which was highly appreciated by the 3-year old. We even saw the lions trying to hunt down some zebras. Well, luck was only one part of the formula. The fact that the drivers in Masai Mara are cooperating and exchanging info about animal sightings, combined with the driver's obvious experience and local knowledge of the area ensured a very satisfactory experience for us. And on our way to and from Masai Mara, our driver/guide was very understanding when we had to stop for the little one to pee every now and then. All in all, it was a good experience, I'm very happy with Shoor Africa. We were also very happy with the performance and attitude of our driver/guide, referred to by the Swahili and English speaking 3-year old as "Uncle Peter Dereva" (Peter the driver).

We had the best time with our guide Josef. He made our trip unforgettable with his authentic humour and his knowledge about the animals and the Masai Mara. Thanks for answering our endless questions :-) We would definitely recommend Shoor safaris to anyone. They even provided an upgrade from another hotel to Mara Serena lodge as there was a special deal.
