The thoughtfulness and attention from every single
one of WS staff is evident in how smooth everything went for me. If you want a Safari experience that is conscientious choose WSK, their policy of not encouraging night game drives as to not disturb the animals with a giant flashlight on their face when they are trying to hunt or basically live to me shows their commitment to being true stewards of the wildlife and not use them as a simple commodity. I saw the big 5, shared laughs and a great time with everyone. Thank you Trevor, Aisha, Fred, Steve, Juma, Andrew and the rest of the gang, you really are the best!

I am a veteran of 10 wonderful African Safaris, four to East Africa. One to Uganda and three combining Kenya & Tanzania so I feel suitably experienced and qualified to pass on useful information to other safari enthusiasts or first-time visitors to East Africa, hopefully enhance their experience.
Choosing the right service provider
Well, that’s an easy one for me regarding East Africa. 1st, 2nd & 3rd choice is Wildlife Safari Kenya who has looked after all four of my East African Safaris and it pleases me to say they just keep improving. After 10 Safaris to Africa, friends and acquaintances often ask my advice on what’s most important when going on an African Safari and I always say: “Don’t try and do it yourself and DON’T try and do it on the cheap, you could end up in world of hurt.” A once in a lifetime experience will remain in your memory long after the expense is forgotten. Make a wise choice in whom you use to provide your Safari. Use Wildlife Safari Kenya.
On my last safari January 2023, the exceptional Wildlife Safari Kenya experience started straight away when we landed in Nairobi. My wife and 9-year-old daughter had never visited Africa previously and were a little bit nervous with how different things were, so it was quite reassuring for them when the Wildlife Safari Kenya representative met us in an area of the airport much earlier in the arrival process than all the other tourists arriving actually met their representatives. This assistance and guidance right from the word go started the Safari on the right foot. I feel this is so important, especially for first time visitors to Africa. Safety, comfort and keeping the guests at ease is at the front of mind with Wildlife Safari Kenya from the moment you arrive in East Africa right up until you are escorted to your departure flight.
My bias towards Wildlife Safari Kenya is based on the consistency of my experiences, from my first visit to Kenya & Tanzania in 2006 I could see what other service providers ‘were not doing’ that Wildlife Safari WERE DOING! Some of these other providers had a more recognizable brand names (not to mention a much more expensive price tag to go with it) just didn’t appear to have the same enthusiasm, instincts or execution that Wildlife Safari Kenya has. The hands-on approach and level of care from all Wildlife Safari Kenya staff was exceptional and this really hit home when I recently caught up with an old friend in Australia who works in management at “Flight Centre” (one of the largest Travel Agents in Australia), he explained that African travel makes up 1-2% of their business but 10% of their complaints. My take on this is there are plenty of average providers out there so choose wisely! Choose Wildlife Safari Kenya.
Wildlife Safari Kenya don’t leave anything to chance, they are meticulous in their planning, preparation and execution of your Safari, whilst delivering the experience in a relaxed manner. Fit for purpose vehicles, experienced, knowledgeable & friendly guides and head office keeping their finger on the pulse of all their clients’ trips making subtle variations or improvements where needed or appropriate. I was very hands in the 12-month planning of my last East African trip and I thought what was finalized would be hard to improve on, well Wildlife Safari Nairobi made a slight change in my flights plans from Tanzania to the Masai Mara at the last moment that saved about four hours transit travel time and had my family and I in a luxury camp much earlier than I expected, in time to get an extra game drive in that I had not counted on. Also, after a couple of conversations regarding what I was looking forward to most on Safari, Tiba, my Tanzanian guide suggested travelling an alternate route than originally planned that incorporated a short but pleasant journey through a rural community and game viewing through to Lake Manyara Park on route to the next lodge. This completed the game viewing that I wanted that day, instead when originally planned for another afternoon later in the Safari. It would have been a tight squeeze had we stuck to the original plan. Instead, we had a more pleasant trip between lodges, completed the game viewing I wanted and had an afternoon free where we could have a few drinks while swimming in an infinity pool with the most magnificent view of Lake Manyara. Wildlife Safari Kenya REALLY care and want you to have the most memorable experience possible.
Make Sure You Have a Good Guide
Your guide on safari can be the difference between an average or exceptional experience. The experienced Wildlife Safari guides that I have looked after all of my East African safaris really made each trip more memorable than the last. Thank you so much Leonard & Andrew in Kenya and Tiba in Tanzania. Whether it be pushing envelope a little more in order to get a unique game viewing experience or choosing an exceptional location to enjoy lunch or sundowners.
Have an idea of what you want to do or achieve on Safari.
This may sound a little odd for the uninitiated, but there is more to East Africa Mount Kilimanjaro or Wildebeest Crossing the Mara River. Wildlife Safari have exceptional knowledge of all of the best locations, cultural experiences and the most appropriate and safe accommodation. My favorite places in East Africa are the lesser known and visited national parks. Think about what you wish to experience and see in Africa and communicate it with your Wildlife Safari liaison consultant, Fred & Trevor have been fantastic to me in this area. Wildlife Safari can cater for a range of accommodation and budges. Packaged safaris are the most cost effective. An individually tailored safari is a bit more expensive, but twice the experience!

The customer service is excellent. Cleo and Jasper were amazing.
The view from the tents is lovely - the tents are cozy.
The best thing about The Intrepid is that it’s so close to the game drive - as soon as you leave the hotel you can see animals e.g. elephants.
There is also a lighthouse on the premises which you can walk up and view the scenery. It’s very peaceful.

Our trip to Tsavo west was well planned and our travel designer provided guidance and insights that led us to places we would not have discovered on our own. The destinations and the accommodations in Tsavo were excellent.

I can't recommend Wildlife Safari enough! We (a group of 12) were taken care of in grand fashion from the moment we landed in Nairobi until we were dropped back off at the airport 10 days later. We had 2 sets of guides - 1 for Kenya and 1 for Tanzania. Leonard & Juma in Kenya and Alesha in Tanzania were absolutely awesome. Extremely knowlegable about the wildlife and history of the areas. Constantly educating us & answering our many, many questions. We visited Amboseli, and Masai Mara in Kenya and Ngorongoro Crater & the Serengeti in Tanzania. Our guides put us on several lion & cheetah feedings, a cheetah chasing but failing to catch an impala, lions taking down a poor little warthog, a rhino approaching our jeep just to name a very few. They were so patient with us & our constant requests: Can we move up? Can we move back? Can we get closer? Can we move over there? We were like a bunch of kids! We saw 4 of the big 5 on our first day. Our lodging was 5 Star all the way. Again, Alesha in Tanzania and Leonard & Juma in Kenya were outstanding guides! If I have a chance to visit Africa again I will definitely do it with Wildlife Safari!

I can't say enough good things about Wildlife Safari. We used them 20 years ago when we went to Kenya for our honeymoon and we were delighted to use them again for our 20th wedding anniversary and our daughter's 10th birthday.
Our first full day in Nairobi was our daughter's birthday. Our contact, Stephen, gave our daughter a small gift for her birthday. With input from Wildlife Safari, the hotel gave our daughter a surprise birthday cake (complete with singing from hotel staff) for her birthday.
The safari itself was amazing. We felt so special and taken care of by our guide/driver, Juma. In our 3 trips to East Africa, Juma was by far the best guide we have had. We enjoyed sharing stories of our countries and families as we traversed the Kenyan countryside, traveling from park to park. Juma made it his personal goal to see every animal we could. We had some great experiences, such as seeing lions eating, seeing cheetahs eating, finding so many baby animals (which made my daughter so happy). Juma was so kind to our daughter and brought her out of her shell with their shared love of animals. She keeps asking about him still.
The lodges where we stayed were incredible. On our last night of safari (on our 20th anniversary), Wildlife Safari arranged a private bush dinner, complete with Masai dancers, cake and singing from the Mara Serena staff. I have never felt so honored.
We are very much looking forward to going back and celebrating our 25th anniversary and looking forward to driving with Juma again.

Guide and vehicle waiting at eh AndBeyond private airstrip. Five game drives. Our guide, Leonard, is excellent. His English is very good. He is personable and funny. He's very good at spotting game and finds the cheetah and rhino, two of our three missing big animals.

10 day wildlife safari, very well organised and the guides couldn't have been more helpful, really was the trip of a lifetime. Also done the hot air balloon ride and although it was expensive £300, would certainly recommend did not expect the champagne breakfast at the end of it. Throughout the entire tour nothing was to much trouble to anyone and met some fantastic people.

We spent 10 days in Kenya in a private vehicle for my husband and myself. Our lodging, transportation and guide were designed by Wildlife Safari out of Nairobi, Kenya and Australia (Tom Fernandes). Our original contact was a gentleman that lives in Phoenix, but also spent time in Africa. His name is Dave Patterson, and he helped us find and book Wildlife Safari in Kenya as well as helping us customize our trip. Once we arrived in Kenya, Wildlife Safari took care of us and Benson, our guide, was the best guide we could have wished for. He drove us to Samburu National Park, where we stayed at the Samburu Intrepids Camp. Samburu was one of the most prolific animal areas we visited in Kenya. Benson took us on morning drives and afternoon safaris and always got us a good view of an amazing animal. He knows just how to drive the jeep for the most perfect picture. After 2 days in Samburu, we left for Sweetwaters Camp Private Game Reserve (on the way we stopped by a Samburu village, a very worthwhile and interesting visit). Sweetwaters is 2.5 hours south. Benson told us many stories and facts about Kenya and the animals there. He was very interesting and he could spot animals very far away. Sweetwaters had rhinos among other animals. We also stopped at Old Pejeta Conservancy. The next day we left for Nakuru, a 5 hour drive. Note, that we enjoyed our drive through the countryside. We could never have experienced so much of rural Kenya if we had flown from place to place. After arrival in Nakuru, we went on 2 game drives and had a "sundowner" by the pool watching the animals. Early next morning we left for the Masai Mara, another 6 hour drive. We stayed at the Masai Serena Hotel (great hotel). We saw the incredible crossing of the Mara by wildebeest and zebra with lions waiting on the other side of the river and crocodiles and hippos in the river. It was like we were in a National Geographic film! Very exciting! We spent 4 days in the Masai Mara, with game drives every day, at least twice a day and it never got boring! We took a balloon ride, had breakfast with the hippos (!) and one day Benson made us a picnic lunch, complete with a blanket to sit on while we were in the open plains of Kenya. He watched for animals as we ate under a tree. It was beautiful. We flew back to Nairobi, and Benson met us there the next day for a tour of the city. Kenya is amazing, and so was our guide, Benson Kimani, Wildlife Safari Tours and Dave Patterson. We highly recommend Wildlife Safari, Dave Patterson and in particular Benson, as his knowledge and personality were a highlight of our trip.
