The entire safari was great. Masai mara has to be the best park as you get to see the animals really close. Accommodation in the parks were primitive but nice and clean. The travel time becomes really long between the cities. So instead of visiting all parks, would suggest to just go to masai mara and lake naivasha!

Pros
We had a great Safari. The accommodations were nice and great located. Our guide Maxwell was perfect, he learnt us a lot about the animals, nature, but also about kenya and its history/culture. We recommend him! Also contact with Caesar is very accessible and smooth. We have seen almost every animal possible and even seen some hunting cheeta’s and a paring dancing ostrich.
Cons
Some accommodations such as the tented camps do not have hot water. It was not really a problem for us. They all have electricity so that was nice. Also consider that there is a lot of driving and sitting in a car. That is why we did the boat tour and tried to walk or get out as much as possible.

Me and my sister at the last minute saw an opportunity to join the Maasai Mara + Lake Nakuru tour. I really wanted to see Amboseli as well but this wasn't possible.

Jamboree offer citizen/resident rates which I think is incredibly important to encourage domestic tourism. All the staff we encountered were incredible, from Clinton who picked us up and dropped us off, to the amazing tour guide Maxwell that we had through out the trip. We managed to see all the Big 5 (rhino at Lake Nakuru) which was amazing, including seeing lions eating after a kill. Max our guide worked hard to find the cheetahs which we eventually got to see.

We had plenty of bottled water throughout the trip, plenty of food at the camp and at cafes/restaurants that we stopped at. All meals were buffet style, self service. The packed lunch for the full day at Maasai Mara was bigger than anticipated.

The camp, was better than expected as it wasn't just a tent. It's essentially a half build, with a tiled floor, shower and toilet inside, covered by a large tent and then the tent is protected on the outside so rain or not, you'll be safe and dry. The lights curfew at 11:30pm meant you could stay up though the long days meant most people were asleep before then. And it was great being able to charge phones and cameras till 8am, though you leave in the morning before then.

Very Good Safari experience with an ambitious and motivated guide/driver.

Tents and Lodges were basic but clean. Distances were a bit long. But this was due to the National Parks we wanted to visit.

Good Choice for budget travelers. We can recommend!

When I emailed Jamboree to set up this safari, they were very responsive (responded within several hours) and continued to answer all of my many questions! I appreciated this. Once we arrived in Nairobi, they picked us up and our driver was very nice and informative. The drive to the Mara was LONG and very bumpy-so if you are prone to car sickness you definitely want to take some meds with you.

We did the budget safari (mostly eco-camps or budget hotels). Keep in mind that these are VERY BUDGET ACCOMMODATIONS. Sometimes you have hot water, sometimes you don't. The food is so-so, and i recommend you take your own snacks if you are particular about your food.

Definitely bring bug spray and ear plugs. Everywhere we stayed there were dogs barking throughout the night and into the early morning hours.

Our safari driver was very informative and answered all of our questions. He and the other drivers communicated by radio, so when one driver found something (like a cheetah that just downed a gazelle!!--so cool!), he would immediately take us to that spot. He stopped when we asked him to so we could get good pictures or just watch the animals in action.

Overall, the experience was amazing and Jamboree made sure that we were well taken care of. As far as a "budget" safari goes, it was 100% worth it!!!
