So the tour was $45 per person, and then we still had to pay the entrance fee to the park. I’m guessing the $45 was for the pickup/drop off and drive around the park. Our tour guide Alex wasn’t that friendly, but we were there to see animals not make friends. We were able to get great views of the buffalo, zebras, impalas, giraffes, and the lion wasn’t too far. White rhino wasn’t too bad on the naked eye but had to zoom in with the camera which caused it to be blurry on film.
My only qualm was there were way too many unnecessary “breaks”. We took three breaks on the tour, and after it was over we were taken to this overpriced souvenir place. No prices on items, and clerks refused to tell you prices. Said we should put all our items in the “wish basket” and at the end they’d negotiate. Well I wanted to leave from that moment, but my partner insisted we shop around. At the end it was just as I suspected.., a SCAM! She said $2000 Kenyan shillings ($20 U.S dollars) for a shot glass. I walked away at that very moment. I ended up getting that SAME exact shot glass from the airport for $5.50.
Anyway, I enjoyed the tour itself, but less breaks and don’t take people to that souvenir shop. It’s a turn off and makes the company look bad
