Private Tour: Luxor East Bank, Karnak and Luxor Temples

What To Expect

Depart your central Luxor hotel or Luxor river port by minivan and drive to the Temples of Karnak on the Nile’s East Bank. As you travel, hear how Luxor stands on the 4,000-year-old site of Thebes, Egypt’s ancient royal capital, and how Karnak is the largest of its temple complexes. Discover how this vast collection of buildings was developed by more than 30 pharaohs, including Amenhotep IV and Ramses II. On arrival, walk along the Avenue of the Sphinxes to the gateway, and then explore inside with your Egyptologist guide . Continue to Luxor Temple, an ancient temple in the center of Luxor laid parallel to the Nile. Hear how it was built in around 1,400 BC, and added to by Tutankhamun, Ramses II and even Alexander the Great. Admire the two colossal statues of Ramses at the entrance, and the granite gateway obelisk whose original counterpart now stands in Paris’ Place de la Concorde.

These guys make you feel at home. It was my first trip to Cairo and not my last. They covered everything I never felt alone and there knowledge of Egyptian history was amazing. You will truly have an amazing tour with them and gain some new friends. Only bad was I didn’t have more to stay and more money. I highly recommend Luxor For You there a great group of young professional men. There service would be good for female travelers either in a group or solo. Because rarely are you not with an guide and I have traveled around the world and as a man I felt safe.

We had a wonderful trip to Upper Egypt organised by Luxor For You. From our pickup at Aswan airport to flying out of Luxor, we were so well looked after. Ahmed and his team went out of their way to make sure we had an amazing time. We were really happy with our guides and drivers. Highlights included Abu Simbel and Philae Temple. Thank you for the fantastic trip!

My wife and I were in Egypt for 17 days and Ahmed of Luxor For You did the majority of the heavy lifting for us. I presented him with a rough plan of what I wanted to do and where I wanted to go and he came up with an itinerary that covered all the bases. We were met in a variety of different cities by various guides and drivers who totally eliminted any potential stress or hassle. Stepping off trains we were met on platforms and descending down hotel staircases we were greeted in lobbies by his staff. Always on time and never without a smile on their face, armed with abundant information on any given area, be it historical, archaeological or simply the best place to get a cup of coffee, the city's finest falafel or the most authentic bowl of kushari. We gained access to places we would never have thought of venturing to on our own and found destinations so much more interestiing and relevant when armed with the knowledge the company guides imparted. The guides themselves were so personable that it became quite sad to leave them and say goodbye when we moved on to another area of the country. You felt like you were making friends in every place you set foot in Egypt. A huge thank you goes to Emad in Luxor, Ahmed in Cairo and Alexandira, Yousra in Aswan and Botros in Edfu. The company took care of our Nile cruise reservation and local knowledge was key with regard to departure dates and when to visit certain sites to avoid crowds, etc. We found that we saved a lot of time by employing the services of Luxor For You as we never left waiting for transportation and always found the quickest route into the monuments and temples. Walking around the souks in the various cities on our own was great fun and a totally worthwhile and recommended endeavour but when accompanied by a guide the experience was transformed into a hassle free saunter and suddenly the prices started at a fraction of what they had been when we were on our own. In summary, I would definitely recommend the services of Luxor For You if you're considering a trip to Egypt. Don't let the name fool you, they cover the whole country. They made our holiday a trip of a lifetime and presented Egypt in such a manner that we cannot wait to return.

We booked a 4nights/5days tour with Luxor for you and we had a great time. The tour guide are very professional. None of them showed that they are after the tip, none of them mention anything about it. From Sam, Yousra Ali, Emad and of course the owner Ahmed who did our last tour. My favorite is Yousra Ali, she really loves her job. All of them know the history of egypt by heart that i cant keep up with it. Very detailed and knowledgeable. You just have to be prepared to be out and about. The nile cruise is awesome too, even though its only a 3 star cruise we enjoyed the scenic view during the trip. This tour is really good for those who travel in budget. It includes pick up and drop off from airport and hotel, a driver and a tour. It doesnt includes tip and the entrance fee for the sites. Bfast is included in the tour. This tour is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. We felt safe the whole time.

Having lived in Egypt for a number of years we decided to revisit Egypt and take a Nile cruise. We booked our trip and we were a little wary of what to expect, well all we can say is that this was one of the best trips we have experienced, more than value for money! Great hotel accommodation, visit to Abu Simbel, Aswan High Dam and Philas Temple, Nile Cruise with visits to Edfu Temple, then on to Valley of the Kings & Queens and other fascinating historical sights in the area and on to Luxor. We spent a great day in Luxor seeing Karnak and Luxor Temples and general sightseeing of this lovely town. At each location we were met by excellent guides having not only an in depth knowledge of sites, extremely informative and had excellent English. Our many thanks to “Luxor For You” and in particular to Ahmed Abdelhamid for arranging such a fabulous trip, it was far, far more better than we ever expected.
