The good news starts already before you even go to Egypt. Thanks to the tip to select Egypt on the Egyptair site as country instead, we immediately saved 50%.
That aside, we were picked up by Mohammet our guide and our private driver. Both were very relaxed and therefore always know how to put you at ease between the busy traffic in Cairo with a joke or an interesting fact here and there.
Our sunscreen didn't make it through the hand baggage check, so when we said this they immediately started looking for a place to buy sunscreen, which we eventually found!
Furthermore, the driver always knew the best route by sometimes taking side roads, to the pyramids, sphinx, egyptian museum, the felluca and Cairo tower.
At each location we were provided with more than enough explanation. You often think: "getting an explanation all day long, that makes you so tired", but every time it was told in such a way that your attention really stayed with it, sometimes more serious, at other times more playful, we couldn't wish for better!
Even when we couldn't get our reservation for the Cairo tower in order, Mohammet got this arranged and we could have diner at the top of Caïro!
In short: don't hesitate and just book, you will go home with a smile, many stories to tell and a top arranged experience!
Communication also runs smoothly at all times via email or Whatsapp, so your concerns will be resolved quickly!

Kingfisher Tours is a very nice travel organization, we booked an individual trip and never felt unsafe for a moment. We were well guided and were therefore able to see a lot. Even after a change we requested, they have proven to be very flexible. Kingfisher stands for a fair way of traveling and fair treatment of the people on site. That calls for care. The real Egypt is not found in the resorts but on site. Of course we saw the highlights, but we were also able to get to know the culture in Aswan (the Nubian part) and Luxor. And of course we had nice hotels (2 of which were selected by Kingfisher and 1 by ourselves) where it was quiet and safe. We received many tips from the travel organization and we were literally accompanied from the airport to the hotel to an excursion. Most guides were very pleasant and we had Dutch-speaking guides at both the pyramids and the Valley of the Kings. Adbul (the guide at the pyramids) was a very pleasant guide who immediately put us at ease. At the Valley of the Kings we also had a very pleasant and, above all, very knowledgeable guide. Unfortunately I have forgotten his name. In Aswan we visited Kitchener Island with the botanical garden and we visited the Nubian village of Elephantine Island. This was a unique experience. Mohammed was very hospitable and showed us his island. He also served us a delicious meal. During the excursion to the Valley of the Kings we visited a small sculpture workshop where we picked out some beautiful souvenirs, real quality handicrafts (carved from alabaster or granite) so no rubbish that you unfortunately see everywhere and far too much in Egypt. Kingfisher is definitely recommended! With respect for the Egyptian inhabitants and culture.

We did a two day excursion to Luxor from Marsa Alam in September. Everything was so well organised! We had a nice driver and were kindly received in Luxor, after which we could recover for a few hours in the hotel from the long drive.
At the end of the afternoon we were picked up again for a trip with the Felucca sailing boat. A great experience! Then we had dinner on the sailboat, everything was neatly arranged.
We then took a tour with a kaleche. Now that was an experience: straight through everything, across the soukh, past illuminated buildings. We think this was the most truly Egyptian experience of the holiday :)
The next day we were picked up from the hotel at 7am and led by a great guide we saw the highlights of the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut, Deir El Madina and the Temple of Karnak. After a long drive we were safely dropped off at our hotel by our wonderful driver.
Kudos to Miriam and her team! Everything was arranged perfectly. The driver was always there for us and the guide could tell us a lot about the sights. Everyone was equally friendly. It was very nice that we did not have to make the trip there and back in one day and it is nice that, if you want, you can add some things to the excursion.
We can highly recommend Kingfisher Tours!!!

Beautiful and fascinating Luxor.
Another wonderful trip with Kingfischer Tours.
With a personal guide and chauffeur we were able to visit the Temples of Karnak and Luxor and unbelievably beautiful Tombs in the Valley of the Kings and Nobles as well as that of the only female (and peace loving) pharo Hatshepsut. The colours and depictions have been preserved under the sand for thousands of years and are breathtaking.
A peaceful boat trip on the Nile with Kingfisher’s Felucca and a bike ride gave us a memorable view of farming along the Westbank. A ride on a Kaleche through the back streets and souk in Luxor town gave us an insight in the lives of the locals.
Our hotels, the Steigenberger Resort and Pavilion of the Winter Palace are highly recommendable.

In August we did a 2-day excursion to Luxor from Marsa Alam. Everything was well arranged, we received all information about our driver and departure time the day in advance. Driver showed up promptly at the stated time. Fortunately, a driver was provided who put safety first while driving. On arrival we were accommodated in the Lotus Hotel, the rooms were neat and had a beautiful view of the Nile.
At the end of the afternoon we did a very nice felucca sailing trip, which was also very pleasant with the high temperatures at that time. Upon returning, the purple old and light carriage (kaleche) show in Karnak, at night the temple is even more mysterious than during the day, the only downside was that the sound during the show was occasionally mediocre, making it difficult to follow the story at all times. fortunately our guide the next day compensated excellently.
The next day we were supposed to float over the Valley of the Kings in a balloon at sunrise, unfortunately this trip was canceled the night before due to poor wind forecasts, so the balloons were not allowed to take off. Fortunately, we were able to immediately adjust our program for the second day with someone from Kingfisher, which resulted in us leaving for the Valley of the Kings at 6:30 the next morning to avoid the expected heat.
Kingfisher had arranged a fantastic guide for us, everyone of us hung on his every word as he told us the whole history of ancient Egypt. He also gave us excellent advice when choosing the tombs to visit, but at the same time he also perfectly instructed us on what details we should pay attention to in the tombs. Details that I think many other visitors missed. After a visit to the temple of Hatsheput, again provided with interesting stories, we visited Deir el Medina, given the crowds or rather lack of crowds, apparently unknown to many tourists. Der el Medina was also impressive, especially when we were given access to a tomb that remained closed to other tourists. The splendor of colors and the integrity of the paintings was breathtaking, we felt truly privileged to be able to see this. After a delicious lunch we returned to the Karnak temple, where we heard wonderful and interesting stories for the last time, in which everything we had seen in those days came together and was placed in context. We really thoroughly enjoyed our guide, his enthusiasm and love for ancient Egypt and its history are fantastic. Unfortunately, this meant the end of the excursion for us and we faced a long journey back to our hotel in Marsa Alam.
I would like to thank Kingfisher again for organizing the excursion perfectly, no surprises anywhere and all very nice and knowledgeable people arranged for us. We also appreciated the guidelines regarding tips, etc. During the sailing trip we gained inspiration for a new trip, we will definitely come back to you!!

Miriam tailor-made a trip for us and it was great. Everything was perfectly organized and questions were always answered immediately. Our trip was intensive (we saw a lot) and yet it also felt very relaxed because everything was so well organized (including a price list for tips). Everything had been thought of. Recommended!

Excursion to Luxor, with 1 overnight stay booked in the Netherlands via Kingfisher Tours.
departure and return via Marsa Alam.
Everything we agreed on was very well organised; the transport (van, we were 5 adults) with an excellent private driver. Upon arrival at the hotel in Luxor, we were met by the skipper of the Feloek (sailboat), put things in the room and took us to the Feloek, for a trip on the Nile including Egyptian lunch, with the sunset as a highlight. The next morning after breakfast at the hotel, the van with the same driver was there again, together with a Dutch-speaking guide; first to the other side of the Nile, to the Valley of the Kings (after a thorough explanation from the guide) and saw several tombs. Then back to the other side of the Nile, to view the Karnak temple, very impressive. Then return to Marsa Alam
in short, a very nice/interesting excursion
Well organized by Kingfisher tours.
Recommended!

We had a fantastic trip! We chose Kingfisher because the website appealed to us due to its small scale, personal contact and especially the Dutch-speaking guide that we were promised. Our expectations were high, but they were far exceeded!
First the personal app contact with Miriam, because war broke out in Israel just before our trip. She managed to reassure us at that moment. Once in Egypt this was only confirmed. We have traveled through almost the entire country, but we didn't notice any tension whatsoever. Egypt is committed to ensuring that tourists continue to come and feel safe. The travel advice was positive in almost the entire country, except for the border areas. But as a tourist you have no business going there.
All praise also for our fantastic guide Abdel!! What knowledge this man has and how well he can convey it to us in our own language! In such a way that it was fascinating from A to Z and also with the necessary humor. Very handsome!!
He was there not only during the excursions, but day and night. Slept in the same hotels and on the boat. He arranged everything for us. What a difference from the many excursions we have already done with large travel organizations. Not to compare!
We have only one piece of advice for anyone who would like to get to know ancient Egypt: don't hesitate, book your trip with this organization. They more than deliver on their promises!

Made a ten-day tour, guided by a very flexible Kingfisher. Never felt unsafe, Egypt is a country that you can still visit in a quiet and pleasant way.
From the moment we landed until the moment we left back to Belgium, we were at our beck and call.
We had an experienced guide, Waheed, who spoke fluent Dutch and guided us throughout the entire trip, we would really recommend him as a guide. The drivers were all great too, we had different people here.
This was our 2nd tour in Egypt, together with Kingfisher. And back, a fantastic program was put together according to our personal wishes.
This time we visited Memphis and Saqqara extensively, where we could also enjoy the inside of Djoser pyramid, Mereruka tomb, Mehu tomb, to name just a few.
The Coptic Quarter with the Hanging Church, St. Sergius Church, Ben Ezra Synagogue, Ibn Tulun Mosque, Gayer Anderson Museum, El Rifai Mosque and the Al Azhar Mosque.
We also had a day to enjoy the special pyramids of Meidum, Lahun and Hawara. Where you are all alone, with your guide and guidance. Which is also a special experience.
Alexandria was also on our wish list including Pompey's pillar, Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, amphitheater of Kom Al Dikka with the beautiful mosaics, Qait Bey fortress with fantastic views and the new large library.
Then we moved on to beautiful Siwa. With plenty of stops and some very interesting visits to war memorials from the Second World War.
If you have enough time and want to get to know Egypt in a different way, I really recommend Siwa. Super friendly people, 100% hospitable, tourists are not bothered. Very nice to just walk around the town and soak up the atmosphere, we did this without guidance.
We made the visits in and around Siwa with a guide, because the explanation you receive is indispensable. During the days we were there, we visited saltwater lakes, hot water springs (great to swim in), Shali, the museum of Siwa, the mountain of the dead, the oracle temple of Alexander the Great, Umm Ubayada.
Also enjoyed the desert safari. We were able to enjoy a beautiful sunset twice.
Price/quality is very good with Kingfisher. Completely tailored to your wishes, private guide and driver. You can contact the owners immediately. Received sufficient information in advance. Very reliable company that I would recommend to anyone to travel with.

We have created a beautiful tailor-made tour through Egypt. Everything was very well organized by the Kingfisher team and we would recommend this to anyone who wants a beautiful, safe and carefree tour of Egypt.
++ Especially the hot air balloon ride at sunrise over the West Bank is highly recommended!
- The only negative thing I can think of is the fact that the list showing the tip amounts is no longer completely up to date due to inflation in Egypt. As a result, we sometimes (accidentally) gave too little tip to our drivers/guides. It would be nice if this were adjusted so that everyone knows where they stand!
Thanks for the beautiful memories!
