If you are looking for souvenirs, go here- they leave you alone and you can buy whatever you want at fairly reasonable prices. It is much better than being pestered at entrance of major sites.

I looked up places to shop in Egypt during my 12 day tour - and Caravanserai made the list. It was absolutely worth the detour! The quality you will find in this store, Caravanserai, is unsurpassed by MANY of the vendors you will come across...More

Run by a local family of farmers, this is a great place to buy souvenirs of your trip. They have handcrafts from all over Egypt. I bought a few small carvings, some of them old (but not THAT old). You will pass by it on...More

A pleasure to do some shopping away from the usual tourist traps. We found scarves, pottery, metal work, and interesting other bits. Prices are fixed, though there's some "wiggle room". Definitely worth a detour.

We sought out this shop based on reviews and it was a pleasant shopping experience. There were a lot of handmade items and things were generally reasonably priced. Unfortunately much of the stock was ceramic/pottery/glassware, which while lovely was impractical as far as the breakage...More

Good prices, good products, and a pleasant atmosphere. A short walk from Medinat Habu temple. We had a cup of tea, of course, and bought some nice textiles. I wish I had room in my suitcase and home for the giant macrame hanger!

Great place to shop and relax after visiting the temple. Cold drinks at a good price (don't try to scam you) The books there are good and you can talk them down to a good price for them, especially if you buy a few or...More

Nestled on canal bank over little wooden bridge is this amazing craft shop. No hassle freedom to browse at your leisure. Bought some delightful little pieces for gifts might keep them for myself and go back for more.
