Journey to Egypt: 4-Day Nile Cruise & Private Tours

My husband and I greatly enjoyed our 4-Days of Private Tours w/ John as our guide.

As a party of only 2, we booked w/ Journey to Egypt for a 4-Day Nile Cruise traveling from Aswan to Luxor. The cruise was enjoyed.
But even more important to us, we had incredible tours!

We were privately guided daily by John (& driver) and saw all of the main sites as outlined in the itinerary. We were also able to work w/ John to add some extra sites of interest on our last day, as well as provided his assistance to help us coordinate additional tours w/ Journey to Egypt for Cairo.

John is friendly, professional & extremely knowledgable. He did an excellent job of sharing the history of the sites while simultaneously building the history of the Ancient Egyptians & their beliefs.
Each site & tour was better than the last. John provided a solid foundation for us, not only for these 4 days touring w/ him but also for reference in the next many days that we continued traveling Egypt’s Ancient sites.

John made all of the difference for us in assuring that we had the most quality experience possible.
We’d gladly repeat this tour & highly recommend John as Guide!

Wonderful Egyptian Trip

Luxor to Luxor : 8 day cruise

We wondered at the pyramids in all their glory but Cairo was a very stressful place.
After 3 days in Cairo everything changed when we met our guide John in Luxor.
We moved from chaos and noise to calm and tranquility.
Our 8 day Nile cruise was superbly relaxing and well organized by John. All transport and tickets were organized by him. He accompanied us as a personal guide travelling with us on the boat who explained all the wonderful history of this amazing place.
The price included a wonderful cruise with ensuite bathroom and 3 meals a day included. Incredible value.
They also organized a Valley of the Kings balloon ride ( amazing MUST DO !! ) and a trip through the desert to Abu Simbel.
We cannot praise both Journey to Egypt or John highly enough. They really did make our holiday so enjoyable

Their package is fantastic value and we would recommend to anyone seeking to explore Egypt.

Enjoy a wonderful and intriguing country.

It really is the experience of a life time!

Fantastic!

We did the 8 day 7 night Nile cruise with Journey to Egypt & we could not recommend the company more. We were grouped with 1 other couple between Luxor & Aswan, and were the only couple present for the Cairo tour.

Airport collections & transfers were always organised well, cars / minibuses comfortable with good AC, high quality hotels & fast responses to communications before & during trip.

Most of all - the history & the tours themselves were fantastic. The itinerary included the perfect amount of historical sites, additional activities, shopping opportunities (no pressure to buy, but still good demonstrations of authentic crafts like papyrus making, essence/ perfume etc).

We had multiple tour guides, all of whom were very knowledgable and helpful, but feel we have to highlight John in particular. Between Luxor to Aswan, he was fantastic! Always provided enough information to get excited about upcoming activities without overwhelming us with information. He clearly loves what he does, is easy to talk with, and was there to make us have the best possible time. We felt like we were travelling with another friend!

When at temples, we felt there was a great balance between time learning, and time being left to explore on our own (with clear time & place of where to re-meet).

We feel that the 8 day tour was the right amount of time to see so many highlights, without reaching a point of fatigue. 4 nights on the Nile cruise was long enough to get the experience.

It was quite nice to have another couple on the Luxor to Aswan section; they were easy to get on with, interested in the history & asked some good questions that we didn’t think of.

I would note that there is a tipping culture in Egypt, so be sure to bring enough USD or Egyptian £ cash. Journey to Egypt providing some guidelines for tipping amounts was appreciated.

We highly recommend using Journey to Egypt & the tour duration of 8 days. Thank you!

Incredible Nile tour with JtE

Fantastic tour with journey to Egypt, with everything well organised & communicated.
Initial bookings and confirmations were all well responded to and timely.
On the ground, my girlfriend and I met our guide, John in Aswan. He was very patient, knowledgeable and attententive. We connected well with him, and having him with us really made the trip so superb.
Our cruise boat (Steigenberger Regency) was fantastic, with great range of food,and well laid out rooms, superb sundeck, and friendly crew.
A few extras we took up included the Abu Simbel trip, the Nubian village, and river birds/botanic tour in Aswan, and as we stayed an extra night in Luxor we took the sunrise hot air ballon tour also, which we arranged all via JtE.

All up an excellent package, you get a lot for your money and i highly recommend Journey to Egypt for anyone to book their Nile tour.

Longer than expected transit

We booked a private car transfer from Luxor to Hurghada (with the expected/published travel time of 3.5 hours). We left Luxor at 11:00 AM, and arrived into Hurghada at 3:30 PM; an extra hour longer than expected. We departed on time, took a minimal rest break (we actually waited for the driver to finish his break), and experienced little to normal traffic en route.

The driver took his sweet time during the drive; often spending time on his cell phone.

Trip of a Lifetime

Our visit to Egypt (November 2018) was the trip of a lifetime, and Journey to Egypt made it wonderful from the moment we arrived. The guides, the drivers, and everyone involved took us on a tour of the Land of the Pharaohs we will never forget.

The guides were professional and knowledgeable, sharing their history and guiding us through various historical sites, and explaining the various eras of Ancient Egypt. Osama and his co-hosts gave us a complete tour of Egypt – not only the obvious sites like the pyramids and the Valley of the Kings, but also smaller, less traveled locations where we could witness Egyptian history up close. It was fascinating.

We also learned about more modern Egypt, from the Aswan Dam to the museums and hotels we visited. During our tour, the team at Journey to Egypt provided us with ample time to relax, and advised us on cultural aspects such as food and shopping. They took excellent care of us (even when someone in our group came down with a cold), and went over the top to insure our satisfaction and well-being. Journey to Egypt will meet your needs and more.

6 Day tour Cairo and Nile cruise Aswan to Luxor

Just had the best tour with Journey to Egypt.
From the start everything was very well organised, flights , airport pick ups and our guide Mena was exceptional on the Nile cruise. We didn't do the optional extra visit to Abu Simbel so instead he offered to take us on the Felucca and boat trip to visit the Nubian village in Aswan , which was amazing sailing in the Nile narrow waterways and seeing all the wildlife on the riverbanks. The Nubian village was very colourful and friendly people .We enjoyed the 🐫 ride included x
We visited all the main sites on the Nile including Philae temple, Edfu by horse and carriage ,Karnak & Luxor East Side& west bank.
Mena was very knowledgeable and explained everything of interest , we felt very safe and enjoyed our own free time too.
The visits are well spaced with time to relax on the boat in between .We stayed on the Princess Sarah and had a superb view from our room window.
All the internal flights were easy no longer than an hour to Cairo and the company had everything arranged on time .
Our guide in Cairo was Meyer , he took us to the pyramids and Sphinx , Egyptian museum all in 1 day which was a bit packed in as the tour in Cairo was 2 nights felt we would have liked to split the visits between the 2 days .Would have liked to have seen the evening light show at the Sphinx maybe on the first night .He took us to a lovely restaurant overlooking the pyramids for lunch but because the day was so packed we had lunch at 1130 which was too early .But otherwise the tour and everything we saw surpassed our expectations and was all amazing. We would recommend Journey to Egypt to all xx very reasonably priced for all that it includes , 2 very happy customers x

We booked a 7 night cruise on the Le Fayan in June 2021 leaving a deposit for a cruise departing Nov 2022 and getting a confirmation. 6 weeks prior to leaving we get an email stating there are no cabins for us on the Le Fayan. 2 days later they tell us they have found cabins on the Movenpick Sun Ray (significantly inferior) for only $200 more per person! Well we were stuck so we felt forced to take it. We truly feel like victims of a bait and switch.

Pretty good time!

Our tour guide, Romani, was the best! He has been kind and enthusiastic and gained our trust quickly. The rooms were comfortable, the food was ok, wifi is slow. Meal times varied so I was frequently hangry, and the afternoon tea only had fruitcake. I loved how the view from my window kept changing! The Hamees boat had a comfortable lounge and rooftop seating area. The outings were fabulous. I did not go on the optional Abu Simbel tour, but the rest of my group did. My partner said that it was not worth it (4am wakeup, six hours total of driving, huge crowds). Instead I read in the lounge, enjoyed the breeze on the rooftop, had a coffee. People seem to either love or hate Egypt, so if you’re worried (which I had been), I recommend this cruise. It removes some of the stresses and gives you a buffer against some of the issues people have. Couple of notes: mosquitoes come out and night and I could not feel them bite me- I recommend bug spray/hydrocortisone cream. Also, bellydancing is an interactive entertainment, so don’t go if you’re too shy!

Excellent, very professional trip

We visited Karnak and Luxor Temples with our guide Remon. The whole experience was very professional and enjoyable. We were picked up from our hotel, driven between the venues and returned to our hotel at the end. Remon explained everything to us and had an apparently encylopaedic knowledge. He was patient and didn't rush us. He also struck a perfect balance between showing us around and then giving us some free time to explore the sites on our own while he waited at the entrance. A thoroughly enjoyable experience that I would recommend to anyone.
