We had a phenomenal time in Egypt! Granted I've wanted to go since I was a kid but that's neither here nor there. Anyone who enjoys Egyptian history, history in general, travel or art for that matter would love travelling through Egypt. To walk around the desert and stumble upon the vibrant blooming colors within the tombs at the Valley of the Kings in wonder. I mean it must have taken a very long time to create everything.
Then to hear the story of Hatshepsut's family rivalry while walking in her footsteps was unbelievable. Seeing Abu SImbel was great, a bit of a long trek out there but it is a masterpiece and one heck of an accomplishment for past and present, for those who helped move it so it was not lost to time thank you. Worth a look for sure.
However, my favorite spot was Karnak and Luxor, I think, I mean I loved all of it. Karnak and Luxor however had a different feel, it had so much story written in the walls and it even had some colorful flare left over on the high pillars. Amazing!
None of this would have been possible or as fun if it were not for me hooking up with this crew. The guide spoke a few languages, one being English which was great for us. The drivers, crew and guide were very hospitable and took us where we needed or wanted to go quickly and safely.
Expect hot weather if you go during this time of year. Next time I go I may try later in the year as it should be a bit cooler. Some places you can't take photos so that was a bit of a bummer but not unexpected. Whenever you go take a hat, sunglasses, sunblock and have fun.
Walking through and among the world of ancient Egypt was worth every moment regardless.
