Me and my wife are pretty excited to say that we had a fantastic experience with Luxor and Aswan travel and especially with their manager Hany. First, we wanted a cruise, but the cruises were closed due to Covid19, so Hany proposed us an individual program for 6 days which included transfer from Safaga, all Egyptian temples and ruins we wanted to visit, and a good air-conditioned car with a very professional driver and an experienced egyptologist. The price was roughly similar to that of a 5-day cruise. Our egyptologist Mohammed was happy with our deep interest in Ancient Egypt, so he showed us some hidden places not included in the tour at no extra cost. Everything went smoothly. 4 days after our agreement with Luxor and Aswan travel was fullfilled, we had a problem with moving from Cairo to Hurghada to catch our flight home, because Egyptian government restricted moving of tourists around the country in fears of the second wave of Covid19. And though Hany had already fullfilled his responsibilities to us, he was anyway very kind to help us enormously, contacting transfer agencies and giving information on flights. When I needed to communicate officials and officers, I called Hany and he was talking to them on the phone. We bought airplane tickets and we were denied boarding, and Hany helped to talk Cairo airport officials into letting us on board! After that, though, Cairo airport officials contacted Hurghada airport which didn't agree to accept us. Then, Hany managed to find us a very good night bus Cairo-Hurghada, equipped with a toilet, arriving a couple of hours before our flight. Hany was constantly online and monitoring our situation, so we are very grateful to him for helping us to get home from Egypt! Thank you Hany!

Instead of reviewing the cruise I would like to review the agency which stepped-up big time when a crisis struck. Hany El Dosouki, Reservation Manager at Luxor & Aswan Travel, provided outstanding service when the Egyptian government announced that all foreigners had to leave the country by 2 p.m. on March 19th when all flights would cease. This occurred on the first afternoon of our cruise (March 17th) while we were still docked in Aswan but out on a tour with our guide. This is our story and how Hany helped us to see as much as possible and still get us home: Hany was the only one to notify us of the government's mandate. He contacted our guide who relayed the information to us. Of note is that our vacation was not supposed to conclude until March 26. After Luxor we were supposed to spend some time at the Red Sea and fly back to Cairo from Marsa Alam but that flight and our return flight to the United States (all on EgyptAir) were canceled. We tried to contact EgyptAir but were unsuccessful. Hany arranged, at no extra charge, for a driver to pick us up from the cruise ship and take us to the EgyptAir office in Aswan as soon as they opened the next morning. He also sent a representative to help us speak with the EgyptAir agent. Unfortunately there were no seats available to Cairo nor seats from Cairo to JFK. We were waitlisted. We called the US Embassy - they were not able to provide any help. Family members back home were also trying to find us flights out on other airlines. We called Hany back and he sprung into action. He advised us not to use certain airlines (that family members had found) as he knew which countries were likely to close their borders before we left and he was right. He booked us flights to Cairo from Luxor and found flights back to JFK via Rome on the 19th. At first we were apprehensive to fly through Rome but as it turned out, the airport was deserted and the flight was 1/4 full so there was plenty of space between passengers. All passengers were required to wear masks. That afternoon we sailed to Kom Ombo on the cruise. The next morning (March 18) Hany arranged for us and our guide to be picked up after our 6:30 a.m. tour of Edfu and we were driven to Luxor in a little over an hour instead of arriving much later in the afternoon via the cruise. We were able to buy our Luxor premium pass and see five tombs at the Valley of the Kings (including KV 9, 11 and 62), visit Hatshepsut's Temple and see Nefertari's tomb at the Valley of the Queens and the Colossi of Memnon before stopping for a late lunch in Luxor (no extra charge for lunch.) After that we went to Karnak and Luxor Temples, returning to the cruise ship at about 6:30 p.m. It was a whirlwind day but we got to see almost everything we had wanted to see. We had dinner on the cruise ship, packed and then Hany sent a driver and rep to take us to the Luxor airport to make sure everything went smoothly. He also provided face masks and hand sanitizer. Just after midnight we flew to Cairo where Hany had arranged for a rep to meet us and to make sure we transferred to the correct terminal for our flight to Rome - all at no extra charge! What is extraordinary about what Hany did is that he helped us get home even though we only booked the cruise through his agency. He also called us several times throughout the ordeal to see if we were okay. So, if you are looking for a cruise, I highly recommend you book with Hany. In fact, I recommend you use Luxor and Aswan Travel to book your flights and tours too. The guide Hany provided for visiting the sights along the cruise was excellent. So please consider this outstanding company when travel to Egypt resumes. Hany will take good care of you!

I cannot recommend this company more. Pre-trip communication with Hany was excellent and thorough. We were met at the airports and on the days of the tours with impeccable timing. Our guide in Cairo for two days was Jimmy and he was great every step of the way. We appreciated him taking pictures of us and posing us in all of the goofy positions that you could want. Another standout was lunch at the place that served the "old cheese" (don't turn your nose up at that. For the leg down south, we had Ismael and he was just as good. Funny (we shared jokes) and also super knowledgeable. The tours throughout were all well paced and we learned a ton while seeing everything of our dreams. We visited right at the outbreak of the virus and the company made sure we had alcohol spray and wipes. It was a freaky time and they made us feel better about things. I should also mention that our drivers on both legs were excellent as well and we never felt unsafe with them behind the wheel.

Our guides were professional, well-informed and a real pleasure to spend time with. Nazeer was our guide in Luxor (also picked us up at the ship for drive to Hurghada and flight to Cairo). He was great and we were able to experience a lot of Luxor without feeling rushed. The driver also did a good job of getting us around and back to Safaga in plenty of time to catch the ship. Zeinab was our guide in Cairo for the pyramids and the Sphinx. She met us at the airport in Cairo after our flight from Hurghada. She was wonderful and we feel fortunate to have had her as our guide. She took very good care of us. Her driver was able to get us around a busy Cairo smoothly and make sure we made our late flight to Luxor. We could not have had better guides in Egypt. Thank you Luxor and Aswan Travel.
