Egyptians highly regard this dam it gives them water for drinking , irrigation & agriculture purposes. This was described to me as the heart of the Egypt as its the source of water for the whole country & even a reasonable source of employment in Aswan area. I highly respect the Egyptians & their divine consideration towards the dam however... More

Magnificent view! Aswan is famous for its high dam! Not possible to see the crocodiles however you can admire what a man can built!

Pretty impressive structure and the history is quite interesting. You learn a lot about the sources and actions of the Nile

For centuries the Nile River flooded the banks of Aswan. There were numerous attempts to try and control the water flow, most of which failed. It's not surprising, then, that the Egyptian government is proud of the High Dam and wants to show it off. Truthfully speaking, however, I don't know that it necessarily warrants a tour bus full of... More

A trip to Aswan wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Aswan Dam ( High Dam). Eventhough I'm not an engineer I can imagine the massive engineering planning, skills and effort that goes into the construction of this dam... you'll have to be there to appreciate it. But one thing that saddens me a bit was the displacement of... More

Interesting sight to see. I would recommend seeing this with a tour guide though so that the history and significance of everything can be explained in detail so that you can fully appreciate the attraction.

The dam is located away from the city center and I and. I think it wouldn't be the perfect place to visit instead of other interesting places in Aswan

Amazing structure and a scientific marvel. Good for a quick visit if you love feats of engineering Went with family and the guide was quite entertaining, explaining the achievements by the people and history of the dam.

See this dam when in Aswan. You won't be disappointed. An engineering marvel and a great spot to relax for awhile. You can easily see the old dam from here. I wasn't aware that the Russians loaned Egypt the money to build the dam.

You can't leave Aswan without visiting the High Dam. We rented a taxi, it takes about 20 minutes to reach there. We got photos above the Dam body itself. And in the old Soviets Egyptian friendship tower. It looks like lotus flower.
