What a great way to enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the nile and see all of the main historical sites in a limited amount of time. Our guide Hady was very friendly, funny and made us feel very relaxed and comfortable. He is very knowledgeable and takes care of everyone's needs. I highly recommend this trip!

We had a fantastic experience dealing with Imperial Egypt in the purchase of our Nile cruise. Right from the start they answered my many questions by email promptly and made my decision very easy. Great value for the money. Excellent!

I was on booking.com trying to book a particular ship recommended in a blog post. I had a question which led me to ImperialEgypt, the tour operator for our dates. In retrospect, I was a total PITA, as Hany assured me our last minute change was an upgrade. So very happy we trusted him--I can't imagine a better experience.
Our tour guide, Hady, not to be confused with Hany, was absolutely stellar and scrupulously honest, very accommodating to our varied group members' needs, and unbelievably knowledgeable re all things Egypt. I have a lot of miles under my belt and this trip, along with a Kruger safari, ranks right at the top so far. Put this on your bucket list.

Mr. Mustafa drove me from Aswan to the airport. He loves Aswan very much, and while driving, he told me about the attractions and spots of Aswan. He was a very kind person, and the nicest person I met during my trip to Egypt. Mr. Mustafa thank you.

We visited during 21-24 December 2018.

Things I liked:
- Great food service 3 times a day.
- Hossam Awad was a great guide - he was considerate, patient and knowledgable. He catered our needs and priorities, allocated enough time every time to explore on our own and moved according to our pace.
- Great scenes of Nile from the top sundeck in the afternoons.
- Covered many places to visit - Philai Temple, Nasser Lake, Edfu Temple, Kom Ombo Temple, Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, Hatshepsut Temple, Colossi of Memnon and 3 tombs in the Valley of the Kings. The guide paid for all the tickets while we had waited on the security lines at the entrance.
- $400 per person for 4 days/3 nights cruise, comfortable cabins, all the daily 3 meals, hotel/airport rides, all the entrance tickets to the temples/museums - is a very good deal economically.

Things I didn't like:
- Not providing free water during the meal services. I understand providing alcohol or any special drinks for extra but they could certainly provide free water. Besides, it costs just 0.33 USD for 1.5 liter water outside - which is good enough for 4 people per meal.
- Television channels were not working at all and they said it was not fixable.
- No free wifi (they offered super expensive 4 USD per hour wifi service). Without wifi and television channels, it was hard to pass time after the sundown and dinner.
- The tour guide suggested tips after each microbus rides, horse carriage rides and boat rides. It was inconvenient to keep small changes for all these tips. I suggest them to charge extra during the booking and spare us from all these hassles.
- Belly dance performance was just 15 mins and neon whirling dance performance took another 15.
- Tea service in the afternoon on the top sundeck should have been served every day.

Suggestions:
- It was worth to visit Abu Simbel on Day 2 morning for extra 80 USD per person. The trip will fit within the regular 4 day/3 night trip.
- Pay extra to visit the Tutenkhamun tomb. His body is kept inside - all other mummies of the major Pharaohs are in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. But all other Tutenkhamun tomb artifacts are on display in the same musuem.
- Pay extra for the photography tickets whenever it is required and avoid the embarrassment when the security guard would ask you to delete your photos without the photography permit.
- Keep enough water bottles from the beginning and save the hassle of going out to buy later.
- Buy a data sim beforehand. I had Google Fi. It was so worth it.
- In the beginning, request your tour guide to give you some quick lessons on how to read hieroglyphics (e.g. cartouches, specifics of male/female/child figures, difference in the male beards). It will make your temple visits much more meaningful.

I first began looking into a Nile Cruise because it include many of the temples that my friend and I wanted to visit. From the moment that I contacted Imperial Egypt, it was a positive experience. No matter what time or day, Hany was extremely quick at responding. He was also very detailed in his emails and helpful with booking the optional excursions that we were interested in. Additionally, throughout the trip, Hany kept in contact with our guide to make sure that everything was going well with our trip and even spoke to me on the phone to ensure that we had a great experience. One thing I can definitely say about this experience is that it seemed like it was very important that we had a positive experience, which we definitely did.

I loved that we had our own private tour guide, who is also an Egyptologist and VERY knowledgeable. We had Abdul and he was AMAZING. I would definitely request him, if possible, because he was fantastic and really made the trip special. Prior to becoming a guide, he was an excavator at both the Edfu temple and the Giza pyramids. It was so interesting hearing about his experiences with that and hearing about things that he found during that time. Additionally, he was just the perfect guide! He was super knowledgeable and gave just the right amount of information about each place we went. He is also a great photographer! My friend and I love taking pictures and he was definitely accommodating when it came to pictures! He knew all of the best places to take pictures and definitely made sure we were able to capture everything. He was also very helpful when it came to tipping. He shared with us what the standard tips were for each place we went to but also stressed that tips are personal, so if we feel someone deserved more or less, it was entirely up to us. It was just very helpful to have him around and honestly, a pleasure. He was definitely a highlight of our trip and I really can't stress enough how great Abdul is!!

Now for the actual cruise, we were on the Al Hambra boat. I was very impressed with the size of the suite, it was definitely a very comfortable accommodation. We opted for the two twin beds, and we also had a living room area with a TV and couch. The bathroom had both a bathtub and stand up shower. Also, our amazing guide, Abdul, was able to get us a really nice room close to the front of the ship and we had a great view of the Nile River. The food on the cruise was also pretty good, I think there was a good variety each day and I really have no complaints. The bagged breakfasts for early mornings (if you opt into some excursions) are not the best, but in comparison to everything else, it's really not a big deal at all.

There was ONE thing that I didn't like on the cruise and that was the man from the spa. He walked around offering a "free 10 minute massage and facial" but it WAS NOT free. He ended up going past the 10 minutes and then charging me $60 USD. Not to mention, his services were not that great, definitely not worth the money. I didn't want to argue, so I just paid.. but I was definitely not pleased by this. Also, it was a little weird having a man complete the massage, especially in a more conservative country. Moral of the story: don't accept a free massage.

Lastly, the itinerary is really great. Although we had many early mornings (mostly because we opted into excursions), I never felt rushed with anything and we also had relaxation time each day. We opted into the trip to Abu Simbel from Aswan, the Nubian Village (also Aswan) and the Hot Air Balloon ride in Luxor. Unfortunately, we were unable to do the hot air balloon ride because of the wind :( which was super disappointing (but we did get refunded by Imperial Egypt). We also did an optional horse and carriage ride around Luxor which was really nice, as well. Honestly, this was a really great experience and for the price, definitely worth it. We went during Easter week, so it was a bit more, but I still think it was a great deal!

Bottom line: I would DEFINITELY recommend the Nile Cruise and Imperial Egypt! You won't regret it!

Awesome, amazing, spectacular, awe inspiring temples in Aswan, Edfu and Luxor, WOW!!!!! Definitely opt for the extra tour to Abu Simble before leaving port in Aswan, it's totally well worth the extra money. We had an individual tour guide for the whole journey that I would highly suggest so you can hear everything that is said and ask all the questions you will have. Suggestion: if you are in the least interested in the hieroglyphics, which your guide will be able to translate for you, look them up online and learn them before you go, there are not that many of them and it will make your experience in the temples more interesting. The guides generally take you through each temple, explain the highlights and then leave you to explore on your own. The rooms on the boat are good, opt for the best room as you get a nice viewing area with a couch to watch life on the nile roll by. We spent a lot of time there as we had brought our own wine, okay several bottles of wine, and it was January and too cold for us to sit on the sundeck.

Food on the boat is all buffet, so if you're okay with that, then they do a good job. If you don't have a sweet tooth, grab some extra fruit at lunch as it's all cakes and sweets for dessert at dinner. Suggestion: wait half an hour after the dining room opens to avoid the mad rush, it's not a pretty sight. They keep the food well stocked so they never run out. They will actually call you to come if you wait too long. For pescetarians (veges who eat fish) there is always "a" fish option and a salad bar. We were lucky that our boat was not completely full so that we were able to change our assigned seat in the dining hall to move away from the large tour groups who were amazingly loud. Might not be a bad idea to ask before hand to be seated as far away from the large groups as possible.

There's lots of down time on the cruise as the tours are either early in the morning or late afternoon. Bring stuff to do on the boat, lots of stuff. If you have kids, good luck with that.

The Egyptian people are really quite nice. 'All' of the touts will approach you to buy from them, but with a smile, eye contact and a polite "no thank you," they will wish you a good day and move on to the next tourist. If you are not interested in buying something, do not even 'look' at what they are selling, do not say anything else after your first "no thank you", if YOU keep talking, they will pursue you. If you want a souvenir and a fantastic shopping experience, go to the the Cairo Bazaar, it is amazing!!!! Bargain hard, but be friendly.

Keep small change/bills on you all the time. You have to pay to use public toilets while on the tours. When in taxis, where a seat belt and just look out the side windows, do not, I repeat, do not watch the road...the Egyptians have a 'different' way of working together on the roads. I was fascinated by how each car displayed it's driving history of bumps and scrapes, side swipes and crashes, dents, dyi paint jobs, taped up head lights and mirrors, rusted or missing side mirrors, running boards and doors!

Highly recommended to go to Egypt, no worries about the politics...don't put it off any longer, just go. It's a positive experience.

I booked extremely last minute by my standards for this tour. I was already booked for 8 days in Cairo and a colleague told me I would be bored out of my mind AND miss all of the amazing sights if I didn’t take a Nile cruise. Booking one of the first to come across my search via TripAdvisor, I went for it. Booking was seamless. I didn’t have many expectations. But you should. Every boat is not the same. But Imperial was a jewel to work with. I missed my flight to Aswan and messaged the operator who was right on time to pick us up from the airport. He was easy to spot with his sign and he helped with bags, exiting and got us in a lovely air-con’d Van. He dropped us to the ship where we met our guide for the 4 days - Kheriesh! He was timely, thoughtful in sharing, efficient in entering and exiting spots, he’s so social and helped us maneuver out of unpleasant tourist situations and we had a lovely Hookah evening with him in Luxor, also touring the city by horse and carriage and he helped me find two awesome bracelets from a local vendor for a price and selection better than the ship. This guy is awesome!

Each sight got better than the first. We added the Abu Simble and Nubian Village excursions to our itinerary and they were so worth it. There was only one other person in our group - a solo traveler from Spain. He didn’t join the extra excursions so sometimes we had extremely private outings. Nonetheless, we became family by the end learning about each other and exploring the sights. Each day is laid out from beginning to end and I couldn’t have asked for a better cultural experience.

The biggest issue was the ship. I will have to say you truly get what you pay for in terms of the ship and suit options. It wasn’t much to think of but I kept reminding my husband that this was a short experience, booked late and we are really only there enough time to just sleep and prep for the next day. The shower didn’t drain at all. And the curtains were with many stains. The bed was comfortable. The lock locked. And there was moderate air-con. The food was decent. The staff were friendly. The rooftop pool area was nice. I took time to get a massage that was nice although it was extremely hot in the massage room and flies were entering.

I would highly recommend a Nile Cruise and working with Imperial again; however, I would ask Imperial about other ship options even if that meant paying more for a nicer room option. I was able to include a few of the photos. I hope you find this review helpful. If so, give me a thumbs up. Thanks!

I got the name of Hany (Imperial Tours) from other reviews on Trip Advisor for Egypt tours when I was searching for reviews on Nile cruises. Everytime I would query/search for nile reviews, Imperial Tours name (and specifically Hany’s name) would pop up.
They were excellent reviews- and I didn’t see any review which was remotely negative.
Hany immediately responded to my TA query and patiently to all my questions and clarifications in future emails.
After everything was set up, our dates of travel suddenly changed – and on my query, Hany changed the bookings too.
Hany never met us but set up the whole thing over email communication- cruise bookings, etc.
In the reviews, I saw a guide’s name being continuously used- Mr Hady (don’t get mixed up between these two names!), so I asked Hany if he can arrange Hady for us.
As I wanted to pay by credit card, Hany arranged for me to do so in Luxor after the cruise- so basically, without knowing us, he took us on face value and arranged everything. I am very thankful.
In Aswan, on the day of the pickup, we met up with our Tour Guide, HADY! What good luck- Hany had managed to arrange the guide who was getting excellent reviews on TA.
We were two of us plus another couple – Naomie & Julien- joined us through Imperial Tours.
The Cruise boat, CONCERTO, was excellent- the rooms were large and spacious; the bathroom was very clean. The food was nothing special however. The staff were very nice.
Hady, our guide, was excellent- he’s a formal Egyptologist and knew the nitty gritty of Egyptian history- and answered our questions easily. He’s been doing this for the last 15 years. Hady, gave us excellent tips and other general information on each port of call; how much we should be tipping different people; taking us to the correct shops; etc. It was an excellent four days- and the five of us (including Hady) became very friendly and easy to be with each other.
During my communication with Hany, I also set up with him for the Pyramids, Sphinx & Egyptian Museum tour in Cairo.

Some Cruise suggestions-
1. Buy drinking water before leaving and at each stop- on board beverages are expensive
2. You may need to bring your own soap- as we did luckily- as the one on board smelt like laundry detergent
3. Better to get your own Sim with a data plan- wifi on board Is expensive; only for one device; and could only be used in lounge and lobby
4. Request for cabin in front of ship
5. Will need mosquito repellent
6. Tipping on cruise ship at end of tour before checking out- put into an envelope which is then [correctly] shared by ALL staff and not just “front of house”/service staff
7. If you are not part of an organized tour, make all your independent tour visits early morning as it's cooler- especially to places like Abu Simbel (3 hours away).
8. The one-day difference between a 4 day-3 night (Aswan to Luxor) and 5 day-4 night (Luxor to Aswan) cruises is due to the fact that with the former you are traveling WITH the current so you get to Luxor faster; and with the latter, you are brunting the current so your travel increases by one day. The sights are exactly the same but it only takes longer due to the time of travel up river.
9. Ports of call were: Aswan (departure)-Kom Ombo-Edfu-Luxor. Hady, our Guide accompanied us through the trip, from day 1; and attended to all our queries, needs, etc. He was extremely professional, a very knowledgeable person and a very nice person to be with.

Cruise on Nile is our dream , and it is fulfilled with the help of excellent tour guide Mahmoud from Imperial Egypt. We did the cruise from April 16 to April 19 and had two optional visits ( Abu Simbel and Luxor Balloon). Mahmoud did a great job ! Thanks a lot !
