Enjoyed the 2 hour late afternoon sail along the nearby water of the Nile in Aswan. Especially liked our unpretentious captain, Sayed, and his small, down to earth felucca, ISIS, named after the goddess of sky and nature. Captain Sayed had nobody helping him but he was quite skilful in handling his craft including climbing the tall mast to release... More

I had originally booked a two-night cruise ship from Aswan to Luxor, but after meeting Captain Mohamed Ziggy at Aswan's port, I cancelled my trip. Why would I spend two days in a pool on the deck of a massive boat when I could sail down the Nile on a Felucca? So we built an itinerary together, and for five... More

After visiting the archeological sites in the morning, I had a couple of free afternoons and early evenings to walk along the corniche of Aswan. I was interested in taking a long distance felucca trip from Aswan to Luxor and spent the time interviewing the felucca captains up and the down the corniche. I interviewed 4 captains and the first... More

Captain Nageh is the man for the job! He took us on an epic sunset sailing cruise which was very relaxing. Being a skipper myself, he let me take control of his boat and sail us around for the evening. Great experience!

Breathtaking views, clear sky, fresh air, clear and clean River. No crocodiles in this part of the River Nile. Peaceful, tranquil, smooth sailing. You can have Nubian singers along like ours. With just 2 couples in our Tour and a Local Tour Guide, ours was very exclusive and pleasant. Journey not to miss. Must do! Come and see for yourself.... More

If you're in Aswan for the first time, I dearly recommend a 3-4 days trip on the Nile for the backpackers that - like me - wants to experience the adventures of Egypt rather than a short walk up and down the corniche. Take the ferry from the mainland to Elephantine Island, have a local Nubian meal at the Jamaica... More

A must do on your list . You can sail to the nearby botanical garden or the Nubian village or the valley of the tombs . Water birds add to the attraction . The deep blue water is surely a soother .

We loved the felucca time with Ali and Mustafa. It was so peaceful and relaxing. I wish we had spent some time on Elephantine Island with our guides. They are clearly so proud of their home, I would have enjoyed seeing it. Great guys to spend some time with and a beautiful sailboat.
