Seeing the statue of Rameses II was impressive. Hearing the stories of how and swhen it was discovered, how they moved it, the stories about Rameses... I loved it.

Massive. Love hearing how this was discovered and engineering solution to move it, learning about cartouches that identify Ramses II.

Impressive statue in a mediocre museum. You'll visit the Memphis museum on a day trip to Saqqara and Dahshur, which are more interesting.

Based in Memphis, this statue of King Ramses is horizontally placed and you can see all the intricate details carved on the face and clothes worn. It's definitely worth visiting this statue while in Cairo.

The Statue of Ramses II is so well displayed you can get close...really close. The viewing area on the second level allows you to see every part of the statue. The open-air collection is equally impressive but just wow! Well worth the car ride to the Museum.

Massive statue of Ramses II that collapsed during a earthquake. Impressive detail and well preserved. This site also has a sphinx statue and some other small pieces.

Located in Memphis, that is one of the most famous spots to visit in Egypt.

Price in December 2020: EGP 80,00
No extra ticket for big cameras and DSLRs.
Face masks will be required upon entrance.

Even if you're very curious like me, reading all the explanations around and trying to identify the symbols carved on the statue won't take you more than 15 minutes.

Outside the building, you're gonna find lots of stone statues and other objects, but visiting all the ones which are really worth-seeing will take around 15 to 20 minutes.
