Obviously, the location is on point for the pyramids, sphinx, and I would say a short day trip to saqqara. It's grounds boast views of the pyramids. You can get a pyramid view room, which is what we had so you can hang out and see the pyramids from your room. It's location is right at the entrance to the... More

This is our second time at Mena House , enjoyed it very much it feels like living in a fancy castle. Food is great and tasty. Old staff are very well trained and super friendly, new staff are a miss fit in this luxury hotel . Hopefully the new management "Marriott" will take care of this once they take over... More

On the positive side: Access to pyramid site could not be better and of course the hotel is a bit of living history. Also there were problems at first like key cards that consistently failed etc. but in the end reception compensated me so at least they were responsive to complaints ---eventually. On the negative side: The hotel has gone... More

Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Cairo when your room and terrace overlook the pyramid. Clean, modern and overwhelming view!

We all need the Mena House needs a bit of an update, but our room was fine and the service outstanding. The location is one of the best anywhere, as you are right at the base of the Great Pyramid. Be sure to upgrade to a Pyramid View Room, as the other view is of a gas station. Wifi in... More

The hotel may be 5 star but our room in the Garden wing wasn't. The air conditioning didn't work. The shower didn't work properly and the vinyl floor tiles were peeling. I complained and we were given a new room that was very nice but this shouldn't have happened. I was told the hotel is changing to new management. It... More

The historic Mena House had a beautiful lobby and small bar. While we stayed in the perfectly clean modern wing, it was the time we spent looking through the historic hotel that really stands out. Beautiful carved furniture, screens, and copper lamps really added to the atmosphere. The hotel offered 3 or 4 restaurants that served perfectly good meals in... More
