Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Cairo when your room and terrace overlook the pyramid. Clean, modern and overwhelming view!

We all need the Mena House needs a bit of an update, but our room was fine and the service outstanding. The location is one of the best anywhere, as you are right at the base of the Great Pyramid. Be sure to upgrade to a Pyramid View Room, as the other view is of a gas station. Wifi in... More

The hotel may be 5 star but our room in the Garden wing wasn't. The air conditioning didn't work. The shower didn't work properly and the vinyl floor tiles were peeling. I complained and we were given a new room that was very nice but this shouldn't have happened. I was told the hotel is changing to new management. It... More

The historic Mena House had a beautiful lobby and small bar. While we stayed in the perfectly clean modern wing, it was the time we spent looking through the historic hotel that really stands out. Beautiful carved furniture, screens, and copper lamps really added to the atmosphere. The hotel offered 3 or 4 restaurants that served perfectly good meals in... More

If you are visiting Cairo to see the Pyramids there is no better place to stay. We booked a pyramid view room and waking up every morning to that sight was absolutely surreal, would highly recommend getting a room with view if you can. The location is amazing with only a short 300 meter walk to the gate of the... More

The nicest hotel in Cairo - right next to the Pyramids and full of charm. Try and get a Pyramid view in the old block for the full Poirot effect. Heretofore it has been genuine and friendly, however it remains to be seen what the recent (2015) takeover by the Marriott group will do to it. Fantastic curry house -... More

This beautiful palace was converted to a hotel years ago. The location next to the pyramids is great (if that's all you want to see). It's inconvenient for seeing the rest of Cairo. My advice is to go to the lobby bar and have yourself a Turkish coffee in full view of the pyramids. Wander into the restaurant if you... More

This hotel has a wonderful history. Winston Churchill, General Montgomery and many other XX century personalities were guests here. We thought that the hotel was administered by the Oberoi Hotels but not any longer. Subsequently, the service has declined. Rooms are outdated. Breakfast was ok, cold for most part, views of the pyramids from the breakfast area are however spectacular.... More
