We used Explore Egypt for two different tours in Cairo - Old Cairo & the NMEC, and a food tour. We really enjoyed both tours. The guides were enthusiastic, friendly and informative. Mariam Mousa, the travel consultant, was very helpful in arranging all the logistics and sharing detailed information about the tours in advance. We appreciated all the support she provided. I definitely recommend working with Mariam and Explore Egypt.

We went to a private tour of the new GEM with Explore Egypt Tours/ Azmy Salama and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. It was a great addition to our Giza stay and even better, we got to see this magnificent museum before it opens! I would highly recommend!

We had only two full days to spend at Giza and at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, so we needed to optimize everything in order to enjoy them at our best.
We got in touch with Adam and he organized everything for us: private transfer from the airport to our hotel in Giza, full day tour to the pyramids and the Sfinx (with Saqqara complex included) with a very expert egyptologist... who accompanied us also during our visit to the museum... everytime in contact with the main office of this company through whatsapp for everything we could need. Great job, guys!

I have long dreamed of seeing Tut's gold treasures again and of seeing the pyramids. Adam, our guide, did a brilliant job of escorting us around for the day. He is extraordinarily knowledgable, having majored in archeology at university. He is able to read hieroglyphics, and his English is perfect. The highlight of our tour for me was going up the great pyramid's narrow passageway (what my wife and I called the "esophagus") to the sarcophagus. For my wife, the highlight was the camel ride. This particular tour is amazing, and I can't imagine having a more professional and pleasant guide to do it with than Adam.

My daughter and I took two tours with Explore Egypt Tours: the Unique Tour going behind the scenes at the not-yet-open Grand Egyptian Museum (go if you can!!!), and then a private full-day tour of the pyramids and (old) Egyptian Museum.

Our guide Azmy Salama was an archaeologist who used to be a director in the Ministry of Antiquities, training all the archaeologists in Cairo and Giza. And he was easily the highlight of our trip. So knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and funny. He treats you like a friend, with none of the commonplace hustle.

We had actually already been on a pyramids tour already, with a guide from a different agency who left us none the wiser about ancient Egypt.

Azmy told us the other guides at Explore Egypt Tours are actual experts like him, many from the Ministry of Antiquities. He suggested that if someone tells us they’re an Egyptologist, we should look them up on Google Scholar. Good to know.

Azmy is a fabulous teacher, and we leaned a great deal about ancient Egypt. We asked lots of questions, and he was able to answer all of them.

Solar boat behind the Great Pyramid was unexpectedly cool. Ditto the animal mummies in the museum. One word of caution: if you’re prone to claustrophobia at all, think twice before entering any pyramid. My bad.

Enjoy your trip to Egypt. And may you too find a kind expert to teach you about its wonders.

I would like to start by saying this was the best tour I have ever been on. The execution, the staff and the planning was to perfection. In just six days we were able to explore and experience almost all of Egypt. The first day we arrived we were greeted at the Hotel by the owners and their staff. They made sure we had a room with warm water and told us a brief summary of what our trip details were. Every morning the owner or one of his staff members would be waiting for us at the hotel lobby and send us on our way with the driver and tour guide. Our Tour Guide in Cairo and Alexandria was the best!! He was so patient and protective of us that we felt very safe. The tour to the pyramids and camel rides were espectacular. One of the requested we made was to always have traditional Egyptian food for lunch and they certainly delivered. I have never had such amazing food like the food in Egypt, they took us to the best places to eat with wonderful views. The temples in Aswan were divine and the sceneary was breathtaking. In Luxor we were able to go on a ballon-ride, they made sure the weather was safe and the person handling the ballon was a police officer so everything was safe and very calculated to the detail. In Alexandria we were able to explore this magnificent city and for lunch we had something a little different but amazing... The best Fish restaurant in all of Egypt!!
We were also able to experience the Black and white desert, all I have to say is that I am of a loss for words because its wonderful, although I do recommend to spend the night in the desert (they offer this option) because its a bit far from Cairo and a long drive to make it in a day trip.
On the very last day in Cairo we were taken on the Faluca, Bazaar and food tour. The Faluca on the Nile was exceptional, just beautiful. The Bazaar as always, very organized and respectful people. The Food Tour is something you need to try, this is the upmost traditional Egyptian food you will ever try. I must say it was so interesting seeing what they eat and how. We were offered 3 meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
I must say that this company truly made our stay special, we were treated like family and they made sure we experienced as much as possible in so little time. I truly recommend this company!! When I go back to Egypt this is the only trusted people I will contact.

While we were in Cairo, we were fortunate to hear about possible tours of the the as-yet unopened Grand Egyptian Museum, which, when it opens, will house more than 50,000 artifacts, including those from the tomb of Tutankhamen. Occupying some 120 acres, it will be the largest museum in the world dedicated to a single civilization, and it is not scheduled to open to the public until October 2020. We lucky to be able to book a tour on short notice before we left Egypt. The building is spectacular, and our visits to the different conservation labs were incredibly informative and interesting. Adam, who coordinated our visit, was both friendly and professional, and he was extremely responsive to questions and messages. This was a day trip, but we would be VERY happy to book a multiple-day tour on our return to this beautiful and fascinating country.

Our experience with explore Egypt has been amazing. We have been in contact with Azmy Salama for the past month in order to make up the best travel plan for our stay in Egypt. All the places that we want to see have been arranged in advance by Azmy - this includes pick up from the airport, hotels, domestic trip between cities and domestic flights, entrance to the attractions and other arrangements.
We cannot thank enough the great egiptologist knowledge and welcoming spirit Azmy has brought to our time in Egypt. Besides that, you can feel free to ask him any doubts you might have about culture or history.
We totally recommend the explore Egypt tours and Azmy if you want to enjoy and learn from your holidays. 😀

Before visiting Cairo, my wife and I read books and reviewed a few dozen videos about the history of ancient Egypt and tours. But nothing can beat a guide and touching/seeing the real thing. Ahmed got my timeline, dependency and pronunciation right, he also kept the peddlers at bay. Ahmed's wife and my wife share the same name and we shared personal stories and aspirations. We became friends.
Many travelers stated that you do not need a guide/driver to the pyramids. In hind sight, I would feel underwhelmed visiting an empty pyramids among a giant crowd, not being able to connect to all the artifacts and history now in Egyptian Museum. Ahmed is the one that made the connections.
Mohammad is an excellent driver in this chaotic world that is unfamiliar to me.
