Sun Pyramids team in Luxor has gone the extra mile to make our holiday there outstanding.
Hager from the Cairo office designed the trip taking our wishes into consideration and adding great additions such as the amazing dinner with a local family or the felucca trip.
Once landed in Luxor, Mohamed welcomed us and has been taking us to various exciting activities, always on time and helping out with useful tips and adapting when necessary such as felucca at sunset. Also suggesting nice restaurants upon request.
We felt very safe in the team’s company.
A big thank you to our driver Mr Salah who took us everywhere safely and on time.
Mrs Ghada, our very knowledgable guide for the many temples and Tombs patiently provided detail and context to the wonderful places and sites we were discovering. She helped us to find shops, pharmacy and other small queries on the way. Her deep understanding of Egyptian history and Art was a plus!
Our 2-day stay in Cairo:
We were picked up on time by a charming young man who provided useful explanations about Cairo and offered options for the following 48 hrs.
Also, I would like to praise our driver who managed really well the incredibly chaotic Cairo traffic the various times he drove us around. Including Giza site at rush hour full of buses, cars, camels, dogs.... A real pro our driver, we felt very safe with him at the wheel.
We enjoyed the Giza site and the Egyptian Museum. We declined the visit to the aromas factory proposed by second day guide. We had been taken to an alabaster " factory " touristy spot in Luxor which we did not enjoy particularly, as not planned to start with, and not adding at all to the Valley of the Kings's day programme.
Our children adored the camel ride!
On the way from Giza to the Museum in the city center, we missed being given explanations about the itinerary or the places we were passing by as this was our first visit to Cairo, the guide focusing 100% on his cell phone. We wondered if he was upset because we did not wish to visit the parfums factory.
Once at the Museum, after max 45' explaining the Museum "highlights" we were left to wonder around the museum on our own while our guide sat at the cafe.
Lunch took place in a pretty place full of tourists with OK food. Again no explanation about where we were, let alone lunch all together. In Luxor we always sat at lunch with the guide and enjoyed the conversation exchanges.
At 15:00 sharp the guide simply dropped off the van near his home and left the non -English speaker driver to take us to Giza back to our hotel. We were back at hotel around 15:30.
Compared to the great guiding services, professionalism and kindness we enjoyed in Luxor, Sun pyramids guiding experience on day 2 in Cairo felt far less good.

I booked a stay at the Great Pyramid Inn (which is affiliated with Sun Pyramid Tours) and wanted to arrange a transfer from the airport to the hotel, so I reached out to the hotel. I received a response from Eslam and learned that their company, Sun Pyramid Tours, manage trips throughout Egypt, so I told him all the places I wanted to see, and he built an itinerary for me which was a good value and took care of all the logistics. So what began as me just looking for a hotel transfer ended up with me booking my entire Egypt itinerary.
They took care of transports to/from Cairo and Luxor airports to my hotels, and I had private tours of the Giza pyramids, Saqqara, Memphis, the Egyptian museum, NMEC, the mosques in Cairo, hot air ballooning in Luxor, felucca sailing, Nile cruise in Cairo, Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, and exploring all the tombs I wanted to see in Valley of Kings and Valley of Queens.
I wish I remembered all the names of the people who were my drivers and guides. In Luxor Ahmed was my guide, Mahmoud was my driver, and Mohamed was my tour point of contact. In Cairo I was picked up by Kareem, and I had great drivers and guides (wish I remember all their names) there too.
Driving in Cairo is a nightmare and navigating logistics in Egypt is difficult on your own so I recommend having Sun Pyramid Tours help you! My stay was short but I ended up seeing everything that was on my list.

We did sooo much with Sun Pyramid hotel and tours! I love them! Twice this year now: Airport transfers from Cairo, Luxor, and Sharm El Sheikh. Overnight tour in Luxor and Cairo. In Luxor had a two day tour with guide extraordinaire Ibrahim Elmounir! In Luxor, we went to valley of the Kings, Luxor temple, Hatshepsut, Karnak temples, a hot air balloon ride which is one of my very favorite things even though we had to get up at 4 AM, and an Old town downtown carriage ride in Luxor. In Cairo we explored Sakkara textile factory made by orphans which brought me to tears it was so special. I bought a small silk tapestry that took six months to make by hand. It will be one of my most special things in my possession. We went to Dashur pyramids (Black, Red, and Bent) with Guide Mohamed Kafafy and driver Abdel Sallah. Mohamed also took us to The Citadel at Muhammad Ali Mosque. He can teach you the history from beginning to end in Egypt aptly. He is a wealth of historical information. Egypt is a magical place. Timeless. And you get to feel and experience that which is very hard to put into words. Afternoon I am absolutely speechless. His history is ancient. From the beginning of time. The people of Egypt are warm, engaging, and welcoming. The pandemic and economy has hit them hard and they are grateful to us for coming to visit. They are people of passion and heart. I feel a genuine connection there I don’t feel in the United States at home which is pretty cool. I think it’s a good idea to take lots of one dollar bills. Lots of children are selling cool things and you make their day by buying them! They love Americans! Apparently on our worst day, we are better to work with than a lot of others that visit. When we bought the children’s bookmarks for one dollar, they were so thrilled that they sang to us and clapped their hands and one little boy shared half of his hard won cookie with me. This was my second trip to Egypt and the services of Sun Pyramids was superb! Nada was extremely helpful in building a custom itinerary to the sites I was looking to visit (off the beaten path) and her price quotes were very reasonable. Recognizing my passion for history, Mahmoud Emam took it from there. I found his knowledge and professionalism as a guide both relaxing and educational. He knew I was looking beyond the typical tourism sites and he knew right where to go. Well done !!
And given the traffic challenges in and around Cairo, I believe our driver Yousri could easily run circles around any Chicago taxi driver, and do it safely.
I know exactly who to call for my next visit...

This company is absolutely amazing .I booked several tours to do in a one week period .I had zero sleep ,and never once was there any confusion in planning or booking.. the pickup from the airport by ahmed yaseen and ahmed zaer was on time .they were my transportation for all of cairo and they were always early and on time .I really got to know them on a personal level and it was pretty much a group of young guys hanging out having an adventure. It didn't feel like they were working .it felt like we were friends.. the pyramid tour which was handled by yasser was great . I had given up on riding the cables because it was a super foggy day but he convinced me to just do it because it was already paid for ,so I went ahead and did it and my God, it was great .I loved it .the pyramids are amazing and the museum is also interesting for someone who loves the egytpian culture like me ..yasser gets the tourist involved by giving us quizzes and asking us about our knowledge or our opinions which I really enjoyed and it helped keep my mind sharp .. after my pyramid and museum tour ,I headed off to luxor where I met el tayep mohammed,Mahmoud, and Hamada. All great humble people. The drivers amazing and the tour of valley of the kings ,Karnak, dendara, all amazing .words can't explain the experience..the tour guide is very knowledgeable and explains things beautifully ..valley of the kings for someone who enjoys being outside is absolutely insane .the hotel that was booked was beautiful and the flight was great as well....last but not least ,was st Catherine..which was done by ahmed yaseen.as an avid hiker ,this was amazing ..the trail for a hiker or someone in decent shape isn't anything to difficult ,but the view from the top is definitely special ..all in all ,every person that I met did there best to make sure I was happy and comfortable ,and I 100 percent recommend this company ..thank you guys ,and I will see you again

Tour leader: Ahmed Yassin was a fantastic guide; clear, friendly, punctual, and very knowledgeable of the sites, Really enjoyed trips with him and thank him very much to him and the agency. 5star recommendation for them. Driver: Ahmed Zaher was excellent and always there, my wife and i felt very safe with him.

I was not the one who organised the trip, so I had no expectation and was not aware of the activities plans. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the diversity of the activities planned by our guides.
We started off with a full day packed in Cairo, visiting all of the main attractions with some time off in between activities to shop. The highlight of our trip was the kindness of Mohamad our driver who was always welcoming us back in the care with fresh water and Sayed our guide and his unlimited energy, I even managed to practice my very rusty arabic with him and danced under the sound of Egyptians tunes #Saltaaaalana.
The 3 next days were spent in Luxor with the amazing Samah. You could tell from the very first seconds that we started our tour with her that we would learn a lot. She is a very passionate Egyptologist who was keen to teach us about the very rich Egyptian history. We even got into an impromptu pop quiz during our visit of Karnak Temple which earned us some scarabea figurines gifted by Samah at the end of the trip- Most importantly she always helped during our shopping to get the items we wanted at the best price possible which we were very grateful for 🩵
Overall we had a great time and definitely recommend especially for newcomers in Egypt who need help to efficiently use their time.

Our trip to cairo with Sun pyramids is the best trip I have ever been to. Our trip started off by a warm welcome by Ahemad Yassin ( (Maluma) at the airport. He took us to the famous Khan- El khalili Market at the night and we walked along the street, shopped a lot and enjoyed the night vibe. Then we went to the dead city, Azhar park, cave church, Moes street. We throughly enjoyed our time there and the credit goes to Ahemad Yassin. He is very intelligent, cool, kind, so much fun to be with and full of life. He was a thorough professional who was always on time and was always ready to help us whenever we needed something with a warm smile on his face. He made us feel at home by making us very comfortable since the time he picked us up at the airport. So special thanks to Ahemad for making the trip very enjoyable and memorable for me. Special mention goes to our amazing drivers Yousry and Ahemad Zaher who is also very respectful and fun to be with. They are superb drivers.
Thank you Sun pyramids for organizing such an amazing trip in a short period of time and for your excellent professional services. And special thank you to Ahemad Yasin for being amazingly polite and kind to us. We highly recommend him to anyone who is up for a trip to cairo.

The tour was awesome! I was supposed to take a tour with MSC cruise ship but it was canceled the day before at 06:00 pm, fortunately, I found Sun Pyramid Tours and sent a message on Whatsapp. Even though it was 08:00 pm, the agents were super quick and were able to arrange a boat and snorkeling tour for me for the next morning departing from Safaga Port to Hurghada. The driver and organizer of the tour did their best to find me at the port because departure was a little complicated, but everything was sorted out. We were provided drinks, lunch, and equipment for snorkeling during the excursion.
The landscape is impressive, the sea is so blue and the corals are healthier than in the Caribbean, so be prepared to see a lot of colorful fishes and morays. We were able to choose between two islands for soaking up in the sun, I chose Giftun but I would strongly recommend the other island since Giftun is overcrowded and the beach on the other island seemed more quiet and clean. The crew onboard was also super nice and were always helpful, only point is that I do not recommend buying the pictures cold for 25 euros, I bought them mostly because of the underwater shoots and unfortunately, they only sent me random pictures on the boat.
Overall I had a great experience with Sun Pyramid Tours and I am still impressed with the scenery. Definitely I can recommend the agency and I am also planning to return in the near future.

Sun Pyramids organised a bespoke tour for us as a couple, covering the highlights of Egypt. We visited Giza, Cairo, Luxor and Alexandria. Our personal guides and drivers were all 5 out of 5 stars! They were very knowledgeable and made our visit so much more enjoyable. Medhat, our main guide, was excellent. He was very easy to get along with and was generous with his Egyptian hospitality making sure we were taken care of - including with fantastic mango smoothies most days! He kept us informed about plans and was able to provide us with extensive historical knowledge about sites visited in Giza, Cairo and Alexandria. Having a personal driver was a huge bonus as it allowed us to be dropped off close to the attractions. Akmet was an excellent driver in the crazy Cairo traffic and made us feel safe and secure at all times. In Luxor, our guide Ghada brought the historical characters to life for us as we visited key areas such as Valley of the Kings and Queen Hatshepsut's temple. She was an expert in all her subjects and her university degree in Egyptian History provided great background for us. Our last guide, Saif, took us on a trip to Koshary Abou Tarek so we could experience a popular Egyptian meal on our last night. In hindsight, we could have organised the itinerary a little better but, overall, it was very good. Next time, we know what areas we would like to explore further when we visit Egypt. The 4 out of 5 stars rating is based on some miscommunication and misunderstandings. Our itinerary could have been improved on the ground if we had been provided with more detail about times and optional extras available on the tours (eg camel rides for an extra USD 20 per person at the Pyramids) by the tour company so we could better budget the cash on hand and plan our days better to maximise our Egypt experiences. Learnings for all of us.

As a solo traveler, can I hire personal tour guide and enter the pyramids? How much will it b in this case?

Yes, you can hire a private tour guide and I would recommend it. Contact Sun Pyramids Tours, all tours are private and can be customized to include exactly what you want to do. Be prepared to enter the Great Pyramid when it opens in the morning because the crowds are crazy and it gets soooo hot.

Our tour was with Sun Pyramids Tours and arranged by Mr Ahmad who has a great communication skill and good command over English. Entire itenery and tour was arranged by them including hotel and airport pick up and drop. Tour guides were very nice and cordial. Great Pyramin Inn situated in the best location with awesome view. It includes complimentary breakfast. Staff are very sober and cordial. Thanks to the Sun Pyramid Tour Group and all the staff of Great Pyramid Inn for making our Egypt trip so special.
