This is the Cathedral of the Coptic Church and seat of the current Coptic Pope Tawadros II. It is a complex of many building. We were so fortunate that our driver was Coptic and took us to see this entire complex in a suburb of Cairo. There is a small burial church with four Popes next to the fence of this cathedral. The cathedral was closed when we arrived and our driver spoke to someone who opened it for us. When we walked in our mouths just dropped! Is is not ancient but gigantic and beautiful and the seat of the Coptic Pope. It was a great experience being there alone with our driver, guide and the man who opened it. The sun was setting and the stain glass windows were in all their glory. Highly recommend this place that few tourists go.

During my short stay in the ancient City of Cairo, I was amazed to see this modern-day beautiful church while exploring the city of Mosques and Churches.Builtin late 60s what is believed that this land was the tomb of Alexander the great .Our sudden evening visit to the place was worth , it the most beautiful well maintained landmark in in Helioplies area of the city .The huge structure and amazing art work is something worth watch while you enjoy the peace
