This pyramid is very old. It's stepped. It reminds me of the similarity with American pyramids in America. My photos are scanned images taken during my first Egyptian visit in 1987.

The Step Pyramid is well worth a visit in any event. it was the first attempt to build something that eventually evolved to the smooth sided 'true pyramid'. Part of the really amazing surrounding wall and gate have been reconstructed; as other reviews have mentioned,...More

The Stepped Pyramid was created by Imhotep, who is like Leonardo Da Vinci of ancient Egypt in that he was an architect, sculptor, surgeon (he successfully carried out brain and heart surgery and documented the same), writer etc. It is the first time man conceived...More

You realise that the Pyramid shape that we know of is not the way they actually started with when the Pharaohs initially started making them! Didn't know this till I got there

Well worth a visit and far surpasses the pyramids of Giza. You can just imagine what the place was like. If you look carefully all around you see many other pyramids in the distance including the Bent pyramid and the Giza plateau. It is possible...More
