A bit out of the way, but if you've got some time, the complex is full of statues, with Ramses II being the main attraction. Though it is small, this is actually the second biggest sphinx of them all.

It is amazing how these pharaonic representations would be lost to the locals and the world in general in just a few short generations

A complete sphinx unlike the great sphix in giza. Constructed on limestone (marble), one can imagine the glory of the sphinx in giza which has been danaged on the face...

At Memphis, Ramses statue is the highlight, but might as well take a picture here. It is not that spectacular, and if it were not for Ramses, I wouldn’t go here.

Located at the Memphis museum. It is cool to see if you have time, the statue or Ramesses II is more impressive. Overall I think there are other sites to see first if you are pressed for time.

If you do not have time to visit the statue of Sphinx in Giza, you can visit the miniature at this location. The shape resembles the original sphinx statue but with a smaller size. Around the location there are also many sellers of souvenirs with...More

It is like an outside museum so I wouldn't recommend wearing your good shoes that you would mind getting sand on. It's a great experience to see the history there and it's cheap to go.
