The treasure of this site was both the pyramid to Dashhur and the tasteful & excellent museum of Imhotep. The museum was well labeled and superbly organized. I enjoyed it more than the site itself. The site itself was still lovely, though sandy without a walkway at times. Make sure to wear your tennis shoes, not sandals, to traverse the... More

Using our guide Mimmo (from Ramasside Tours), we journeyed to Saqqara and visited most of the sites that it had to offer. The Step Pyramid is being renovated, so you don't get to go into it, but Mimmo took us into several other pyramids in the area (which by the way, looked like just a pile of rocks until you... More

A unique pyramid located 30 minutes driving from Giza pyramids. At this place I enjoyed the beauty of ancient Egyptians architecture.

The oldest pyramid in Egypt (probably) is being restored. Unforunately entrance remains prohebited. The whole complex is most interesting. The heb-sed court, the cobra-wall, the hypostile entrance, the chapels, everything. Remember its age. One should have seen this when staying in nearby Cairo. Work is still going on. The area around is a gigantic cimetery: the archaeologists still have work... More

Little did we realize there are so many pyramids throughout Cairo to see. We visited El Giza, of course, and Saqqara and Dashur, all worth a look. There is a lot to see at this site and I recommend you go with a guide.

Not only is the step-pyramid very interesting, but there is a tomb under another old pyramid close by that you can go inside that is extremely worth seeing! Our guide from Memphis Tours gave us much needed explanation and the inside scoop on going into the other tomb, so that was a big help!
