We were scheduled to go on an 12 day trip with Vacation to Go throughout Egypt (Cairo, Nile River Cruise from Aswana to Luxor and Hurghada). It was a group of 10 and we'd been planning for a year. Unfortunately our trip was set to start March 15th but Covid-19 had other plans. As most of the group was over 55 along with 2 small children we decided it was best not to fly to Egypt. We had to cancel many travel plans for the course of March-July and no one handled the situation better than Walaa and her team.
She walked us through the entire process of what would happen when we cancelled. Then throughout the upcoming weeks she worked with the hotels, domestic airlines, and cruise to get us back the most money possible due to these unforeseen circumstances. Even though we didn't make it to Egypt I couldn't have imagined working with a better tour company. We can't wait to actually make it to Egypt and will definitely be rebooking with Vacation to Go.

CAIRO city is beautiful considering the heritage which has different Architectural period buildings .
It's very chaotic in terms of traffic and organisation, if you are visiting as private tour (not with guide or cruise ) need to be careful with people who offers help in heritage places because most of the time you will end up paying for without a reason to an unknown person who wants to help for clicking your pictures or just showing your the way of your location...putting in simple words Help is not for free at all in the heritage places .

This is the third trip that Bacations to Go have planned for us. We have visited Morocco, Egypt and now Jordan. We had an 11-day Jordan experience and all I can say is it exceeded expectations. We went to Jordan for Petra but found Jordan is south more. From the Roman ruins in Jeresh, the busy city of Aman with the Roman amphitheater, the market place, the Desert Castles, Petra of course, an over-night desert experience in Wadi Rum, the relaxing city of Aqaba (where we scuba dived for the first time. And on to flooting in the dead sea, visiting where Moses saw the promised land and the baptisism site of Jesus, the experience was outstanding. And that is attributed to Vacations to Go who arranged our wonderful drive Achmed and an outstanding trip. Every trip they have arranged for us has been outstanding. They care for the little things. The owner is responsive and will arrange your trip with your personal desires, like visiting the only micro-brew in Jordan. You will not go wrong planning your tripwithVacations to Go.

Very disappointed in the communication concerning my documents to complete my excursions. Thank goodness I had taken a picture of the fees that I was charged for verification. I was bounced around at each port to find my meet place because I did not get the instructions before leaving. I was on limited wifi and did send an email to London but I had completed all my excursion when I received her response.
The Jamaican Beach Horseback riding was extremely disappointing. I was shuffled around through different taxis, then dropped off in what appeared to be a homeless camp area. The young man lead me through homeless camps with trash everywhere, walked me down a seaweed, trash filled strip (2-3 feet deep seaweed) next to the water, turned around, asked me for my phone to take pictures, dipped my phone in the water, and lead me back while asking for a tip. We had two men approach us and my “guide” shewed them away. Additionally, we passed a large group of horseback riders with helmets, life jackets, and they were riding in the water and then trotted off into the rainforest. For $112.00 I was ripped off! Very disappointed. I do not recommend booking your cruise excursions through Vacations To Go.

10 Day Egypt Experience Tour (Domestic flight)
Very well organised tour, communication with Vacations to Go Travel was very clear & prompt. Airport pick-ups and drop-offs all very smooth. They accommodated our seven hour delayed arrival (courtesy of British Airways) without any problem!
Our Egyptologist guides (Bassem & Mansour) were both exceptional; very friendly, knowledgeable & helpful with anything we asked or needed. Being a small group of six we felt we had a very personal service from them both.
I think it would be very difficult to achieve a tour like this independently, particularly in 10 days. The guides make everything simpler and quicker, from purchasing tickets at the monuments to organising transport to and from the hotel & ship, making for a very relaxed & stress-free experience.
The hotel in Cairo (Steigenberger El Tahrir) was clean & comfortable and had an wide selection for breakfast. WiFi was good and available everywhere.
The lunches we had as part of the tours in and around Cairo were both authentic & excellent.
The cruise ship (Esmerelda) was great with delicious food - very wide choice and good quality. Clean, large cabin, friendly staff, with amusing & unusual towel art! The only thing that let it down was the WiFi - difficult to connect & reconnect to, non-existent in the restaurant and the free package (1GB) stopped working prematurely. It wasn't a big problem for us as we had a generous cellular data package, having bought a SIM at Cairo airport.
The tour involves quite a few early starts (particularly if the options for a balloon ride & a trip to Abul Simbel [both excellent] are taken), but this means monuments can be visited when it's cooler and they are slightly less crowded.

Overall this tour exceeded my expectations and was very good value. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour or company and would use them again.

I can't say it more strongly:
NOW is the time to travel to Egypt. There are few tourists, no crowds, and great care taken by everyone for cleanliness and safety.
Choose Vacations to Go Travel for your arrangements. They provide a seamless and extraordinary travel experience.
My husband and I just completed a 10-day trip in Egypt that encompassed experiences beyond compare - interesting and phenomenal sites, delectable food, friendly people, and guides who shared so much care and expertise.
Magdy made the planning so easy, promptly answered every question or request, and created the perfect itinerary for us.
Michael extended the warmest welcome as he greeted us and helped us navigate airports and hotel. More important, he became a friend we couldn't wait to see again, and we will miss him greatly.
Monsuor offered grace and kindness as we traveled Upper Egypt from Luxor to Aswan, and he made our experiences extraordinary.
Maged shared his extensive knowledge experience of Egyptology in and around Cairo and Alexandria. I hope we retain even a fraction of what he taught us so well.
Every single person we met was so nice, friendly and helpful.
The hotel accommodations and food were fabulous, and everything about the Nile cruise was superb and serene.
We traveled to Morocco in 2020 with Vacations to Go Travel and that experience was also outstanding.
Utilize Vacations to Go Travel. You will not be disappointed

My husband and I just returned home from our dream trip to Egypt with Vacations to go travel. We would like to thank Walaa and Magdy for assisting us in all the preparations, our very knowledgeable tour guides Tamer and Mansour, our transfer people and drivers for making our trip as smooth as possible. From the pyramids of Giza to the New Library in Alexandria, the hot air balloon ride and the Nile cruise, all the temples and the history behind them, and the catacombs, Kom Ombo, Karmak Temple, Abu Simbal Temple, the High Dam. Egypt is a beautiful country and I would highly recommend this company to anyone who wishes to travel there .

The 3-hour Bonaire Vacations To Go shore excursion is irrelevant.
My Bonaire 14 Dec excursion description stated that the cost included a bottle of water. So, I did not bring water.
In the last 20% of the tour, we stopped at an ice cream shop and Harrison told me that if I bought the ice cream, I would get water. He told me that if I wanted water, I could buy it.
I cannot eat ice cream. I am lactose intolerant.
If the description had been accurate, and stated that there would be a ice cream/water purchase, I would have brought my water.
Bonaire is hot desert country! It's water or dehydration!

Now back in Australia I'm still left with a buzz and a smile that Egypt, Jordan and Israel left me with. Truly a great part of the world and worth considering still, even though the media seem to be still at it that it's dangerous etc.
I had always wanted to visit this part of the world and after looking at my options for doing a short term trip, I felt it was best done through a tour operator. Looking around weighing up the pro's and con's, I decided on going with Peregrine who offered around 21 days across the three countries.
The tour comprised of three legs, the first leg kicked off in Cairo Egypt, before taking a boat up the Nile from Luxor to Aswan stopping all stations for four nights and then disembarking for a flight back to Cairo and then off to Sinai Peninsula to finish in Nuweiba. After ferrying across the Red Sea, the second leg began in Aqaba Jordan, driving onwards to the Wadi Rum, followed by the Dead Sea, Petra and then finishing in Amman. The final leg steamed onwards from Amman across the border towards Jerusalem, stopping at all stops around including Bethlehem, before winding up to Nazareth, Tiberias for a dip in the Sea of Galilee, across to Acre, then skirting down the coast to Haifa and finishing in Tel Aviv.
You could say half of the trip was spent in Egypt and the remainder split over Jordan and Israel. The allocation is probably well justified although you'd probably want a day or more in Jerusalem. I did arrive a day earlier in Cairo so I could get some rest in from the long flight from Melbourne and also spent an extra day in Tel Aviv to unwind and actually got out surfing the waves for something different.
This trip is by no means a rest and relaxation holiday. It is kind of school excursion with a fairly tight timeline to adhere to. You have to understand that everywhere you tread has some ancient story behind it. This is the real deal ancient documented world, and you cannot escape it. But you see it becomes slightly addictive as each each guide summons the best of your focus to listen and study the importance of the archaeological finds and ruins, building on your understanding of the timeline of human civilisation. It's pretty cool stuff.
Sure you get down time, what they call free time. This however is just a provocation to get out there and walk the streets to get a feeling of the world that was and now has become. Sure you can grab a tea and feed from a small street seller, or you can grab a beer in places that might sell it and try to rest up and absorb the world around you. But you feel compelled to keep looking, to keep walking and talking. It's a buzz.
Peregrine have prided themselves in the past I have been told by providing the best guides available. Now I'm no expert on what sets the precedence of such, but I can tell you our first guide Hassan in Egypt set the benchmark in what I expected from the next two guides we would have in Jordan and Israel. Hassan was a very experienced operator, educated in Egyptian History, spoke many languages, immensely helpful and was there for you 24/7.
There wasn't much the guides we had couldn't do for you in fact and their energy was thing that helped motivate your tired feet to keep going. Hassan could read off hieroglyphics from ruins to us as if were reading English, David (Israel) could recite literature and debate history as if he were a lecturer (oh that's right, he was) and Sam (Jordan) knew when to lift our spirits and stop in a nice small town bakery to get us fresh out of the oven Arabic bread and falafel. Top points for these guys, they made the trip so worthwhile and I believe most of what I saw and experienced would not of been achieved in any other way considering my budget and time.
If I was going to comment on the accommodation, I can only say the same thing Peregrine talks about in their general information on the tour. In some places its great and some others very adequate. Personally I was kept so busy that I didn't care much in my room, though yes some beds might of been less soft than other and some showers seem to not have enough pressure. But I can't recall losing any sleep over it, or anyone else. In fact the small group of 10 had little to complain about. The food at each of these hotels was great, the breakfast spread usually being the free meal of the day and one you spent time over to give you the energy to get through to lunch, as most sight seeing etc began early. Most of the hotels provided internet services, either Wi-Fi or a business centre for free or at cost.
Food in general was plentiful and quite diverse to even compliment my friend's needs who is a Vegan. Guides knew where to eat wherever we went and were quick to point out places where the food may not be up to Western sensitive stomach standards. Bottle water is pretty cheap wherever you go, but if you are looking for a beer, you'd best stick to hotels as very little to zero places sell it until you are in Israel.
Regarding food poisoning, I'd say probably 4 of us came down with some minor upset which came and went fairly quickly. Nobody could pinpoint where their complaint started, I assume mine came from milk from a hotel breakfast in Aqaba. Some suggested they sometimes use milk powder and normal tap water to mix it up. So perhaps it started there, or maybe a less than hygienic practice. So I can't put the blame on anything and having a dose of antibiotics with you is a good practice. If not your guide, as Hassan had done with a couple on our tour, will go and get you supplies cheaply from the chemist etc.
Safety. Egypt felt safe and in control. They talk about the square in Cairo as the problem centre, which is where the revolution took place and subsequent protests since. But you see Cairo is massive, holding approx 22million residents split in three regions to make greater Cairo. The hotel we stayed in and where the Great Pyramids are located are in Giza, which is some 25 minute drive away from the old City of Cairo where the square is. Now I know distance isn't everything, but it is when the protest groups are relatively small and that far away.
Israel and Jordan felt just as safe as Egypt, though we unfortunately ran into a small melee in Amman Jordan where some rock throwing and tear gas was involved. It all happened very quickly and probably dispersed pretty quickly as we made a runner through the crowd to escape.
What can I say, I guess you never know and must not let your guard down. Keep your head in local news and read up on government warnings. Your guide certainly does and would not allow the tour to enter into places which are considered changing hot spots etc.
Summary. Fantastic trip.
Egypt, Jordan and Israel in the flesh really are something, more than the discovery channel will ever let you know.

We booked with Egypt Highlights for their namesake 10 day Egypt Highlights Cairo and Nile cruise package. Let me begin by saying that we were TOTALLY happy with the entire experience. Not would I only recommend them to anyone, I DID recommend them to both of my bosses at work. If they don't have a good experience....and now to go into the details of why.
First, I think that it is important to know that it is a small company based in Cairo, not, as I found out while planning the trip, a state-side broker that takes a cut by finding third party operators. When you talk to them, you are dealing with the source. While on the tour, should anything happen(nothing did for us), they are right there.
Second, these are small (4-6 people) or if you prefer, private tours, at the same or lower price as the large tours. You are not being herded around with 50 other people on a huge bus following a guide waving a flag and crowding around trying to hear. We were VERY thankful that we had a private tour. We could easily adjust our itinerary including start times and add or subtract venues. It was our time to see what we wanted to see for as long as we liked. We felt like celebrities as our private guide took us individually past the crowds on our excursions.
As you will see, almost all of the tours are identical. The companies have it down to a science to get tourists to the major attractions efficiently. This is no exception.
This company is first class all the way. We booked the 5 star package (highly recommended for the price difference) and stayed in fantastic hotels. The Nile cruise ship was one of the best we saw (M/S Hamees).
The guides were fantastic. Contrary to some comments that I have read, we found them to be 100% trustworthy and honest. Trust them. They know the ropes and will take care of you.
One comment about payment. They are in the process of setting up credit cards, but for now payment is by Western Union. Scary, huh? Don't worry. The company is 100% ligitimate. The owner/operator Magdy is a super nice guy. I absolutely trust him, and as I said before, I have already recommended them to my bosses who, now that have seen my photos and heard my stories, are anxious to repeat my trip.
The entire tour from start to finish was excellent. I tried to think of some constructive criticism to feedback to Magdy - I couldn't. It was all good.
I hope that you found this helpful. I assure you this is my honest opinion.

Hello Magdy,
I will be touring Egypt Feb 17-Feb 25 with my 9 year old son. It will be only two of us. I am interested in the 9 day Egypt highlight tour/ Cairo Nile cruise tour. I would also like to include one light and sound show and also visit abu simbel by air. I tried reaching you at emails listed on your website and did not get any response back. Do you have any other email which i can use to communicate and get started on this? Looking forward to hear from you.
Thanks, Manju

This looks like a good package for our family. Are the transportation and guides private or as a bigger group?
Also, we want add on a 3 day side trip to Hurghada on our own, before going back to Cairo(from Hurghada), can the schedule be re-arranged a bit towards the end of the itinerary?

Hello new friends, Greetings from Australia. We are 2 happy souls EXCITED ABOUT EGYPT! We have booked the 8 day classical Egypt tour in September! Hurry up September! We have 3 days in Cairo to relax though? Any ideas? I would love to see the markets etc. How do you pay for optionals such as the hot air balloon (bucket list) do you take card on the tour or do we pay Egyptian pound or US dollars. Also could you tell me how much it is? The balloon ride. Also whilst on the Trip it is our birthday, we are two days apart. I would like to organise for my compadre a cake. Is it easy to buy a cake whilst we are traveling on the tour? I'm so sorry for all the questions!!! Very excited! Counting the days,
Your friend-Joyjoy

Vacations to go travel

We are planning a trip to Egypt this December. Should we get a package from the US itself or book thru an agency in Cairo? We want to go for 9-10 days. I liked the itinerary that Geetha had.Does not have to be the exact same .I cannot find the same tour or the agency site.
We want to do Cairo, Pyramids including Memphis, Aswan, Abu Simbel, Kom Orriibo, Edfu, Luxor and valley of the kings with couple nights on a cruise boat on the way.
Each tour company describes the sights differently. Do all tours go to Saqqara complex when they visit the pyramids and do they all go to Abu Simbel?
What are some good reliable reasonable tour companies? Preferably ones that give you enough time to see things and dont rush you from one place to another. One person had complained that when they got to the Pyramids they barely got 20 mins..were told to just take pictures and move on.
Thanks ..any help in planning will be appreciated.
Does anyone know about askaladdin tour company? They offer rates with roundtrip airfare from the US.

Hi,
not all tour companies include Abu Simbal, although most offer it as a side tour- I also opted for the flight rather than the long drive- we had more time there and it was barely 5 mins from airport. I booked our Egypt tours online through vacations to go in Egypt, they were very good in organising everything including our cruise, with day trips throughout the cruise included. Enjoy Egypt, we did!
