During a recent trip, my wife and I found ourselves with a 21 hour sheduled layover in Cairo. Our flight arrived at 2 am and departed at 11 pm the same day. We knew that we wanted to see they pyramids, the old city and the alabaster mosque. Therefore, we contacted multiple companies for creating the best trip for us. We asked to include a hotel for resting (preferably with a late checkout) and airport transfers. Emails from Shaspo Tours Egypt (STE) were immediate, professional, direct and responsive to my requests. Prices were discussed during initial contact. During each iteration of customization of the tour, the change in price (higher or lower) was discussed. I felt that the communication was very transparent and this gave me a high level of trust, thanks to the wonderful work of Salma. Other contacted tour operators (when contacted by email or telephone) were reluctant to discuss price, or communication was very short and seemed rather disinterested in my request.
Upon arrival at the airport in Cairo, a driver was waiting with my name. He immediately directed us to an air-conditioned van, where we departed to wonderful hotel in Giza. Although it was nearly 3 am, when we arrived at the hotel the tour manager was waiting to welcome us and to settle all remaining details. He went over the details of the schedule, said to be ready at 8:30 am and bid us farewell.
The next morning, the tour manager (as well as our driver and tour guide) were waiting for us at approximately 8:15 am. I appreciated the punctuality. Additionally, the hotel provided free breakfast and the STE team wanted to ensure that we had sufficient time to eat before starting the day.
Our specific tour included a trip to the pyramids of Giza, a wonderful private and authentic lunch on the Nile, a tour of the Alabaster Mosque, a driving tour of the major points of Cairo, and a walking tour in the old City (including the Church of Abu Serga and the Crypt where Jesus slept.) The tour was concluded with a quick shopping excursion to the old market with enough time to have a tea and enjoy some shisha. (Specific attraction reviews not included in this review.) Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. He explained many aspects of the highly diverse cultural, religious and ethnic history of Cairo and Egypt. His personality was wonderful for a tour guide, taking us on a roller coaster of emotion from absolute amazement to childhood laughter and playfulness and then to the humbleness of man in front of God.
We then transited back to the hotel, where we were able to rest for approximately 1 hour (and take a refreshing shower) before checking out at 6 pm. The tour manager was waiting for us, bid us farewell and thanked us for our business. We checked out of the hotel at that time and transited back to the airport. Our driver was very professional and calm in the crazy traffic of Cairo. I did not feel unsafe at any time and his driving style made me quite calm. A young man greeted us at the airport (with the driver) and also went back with us again to ensure that everything was okay during the transfer. He was a very professional, friendly and happy young man and we appreciated his company.
This entire trip gave me a wonder taste of Cairo. The STE team ensured that this experience was a once-in-a-lifetime endeavor. The cost was very reasonable, as I am quite the budget traveler. When compared to self-arranged airport transfers (or taxi), add taxi fare to the pyramids and then add one night at an equivalent hotel, this tour was almost free. There was no nonsense at all, no pushy sales tactics to purchase from specific vendors, no unscheduled stops and no problems. I highly recommend Shaspo Tours Egypt and look forward to utilizing their services again in the future.

I think our tour represented good value for money. We were happy with the price we paid for the level of service and accommodation we received in return.
We were satisfied with 5* hotels they chose for us and the excellent nile cruise we were on,It was very clean and nice boat, food was excellent and the crew were very polite.
All tour guides were enthusiastic and spoke very good English,we never felt rushed anywhere and always had enough time to explore the sights and take alot of pictures.

Recently my husband and I along with a couple of friends went on a 4 night cruise down the river Nile. We booked through Shaspo tours and with the help of Sherif we booked a Dahabiya rather than a larger cruise boat as we wanted a more "traditional" experience.
Sherif was very helpful in our initial stages corresponding via email, very quick with responses and helping with alternative arrangements. Sherif was even good enough to meet us upon our arrival in Cairo to finalise our trip.
Our tour began when we were picked up from our hotel in Luxor for a day of site seeing by our guide Emad. This day was a little rushed and although I would have liked more time at the Valley of the Kings we did still see everything on the itinerary before making our way to Esna to then board our boat.
Initially we thought we were booked on the MS Amoura but found we were actually on the Princess Donia.
In the following days we visited Edfu, Kom Ombo and Aswan. Emad ensured we saw all of the main attractions and provided excellent information as we went. His knowledge on the history was fantastic and he was able to answer all of our questions.
Emad was at all times lovely and helpful, even to the point of making sure us girls had coins with us so we could use the bathrooms!
As for the cruise itself, I cannot speak highly enough of the crew on our boat. Captain Hassan and his crew were always courteous, helpful, polite and good fun. The boat was clean and well kept, the rooms spacious enough and were always made up when we returned from our day tours. We were always welcomed back on board with a cold refreshing drink and towel. And the food! The food was amazing! We were served breakfast, lunch and dinner along with snacks inbetween. The meals were excellent and we even had the opportunity to join the chef behind the scenes and help prepare an evenings dinner.
On a couple of shore excursions Captain Hassan himself joined us as "added security" or even just to carry water for us. We felt safe and comfortable at all times with both Emad and Captain Hassan by our sides.
Both Emad and Captain Hassan along with his crew went out of their way to ensure we had a fantastic experience. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with a smile (even doing our washing!).
We'd like to thank Sherif, our guide Emad, Captain Hassan and the crew of the Princess Donia Dahabiya. We've had a fantastic experience.
We would also highly recommend this tour and type of cruising option to anyone thinking of going to Egypt. It was such a pleasant mode of travel, sailing down the Nile on such a beautiful old boat.
Our Egypt holiday was definitely one to remember, and I'd say if you are thinking of going there... DO IT!

My 14yr old son and I traveled to Egypt for a month this past June/July 2014. Prior to the trip I contacted Shaspo Tour Company and began planning our trip. They responded to my emails immediatly and were very professional in how they communicated with me. We spent 4 months planning our trip with them and at any moment I was not happy with the itinarary I created or price they would respond immediatly and would be willing to readjust plans that fit into my budget.
I was nervous about putting a down payment on the trip so they allowed me to pay for the trip in Egypt the night we arrived.
At the Cairo International airport I was met with their representive holding a sign with our names on it. We arrived at midnight so we went directly to the hotel. There I met Mr. Sherif the Tourism Manager. He explained the vochers and the tour package to me and that is where I payed for the package with my Credit Card. He gave me his phone number incase we were not happy or needed help along the way.
The next morning we went to the Cairo Musem with Mohamed who did an amazing job explaining what we were seeing in English. We stayed at The Kempenski Hotel that was beautiful! Mr. Sherif called me that night to make sure the tour was excellent and that the hotel was to our standard.
The next day we went to the Giza Pyramids and Saqqara Pyramids with Shaspo Tours and Mohamed. The driver was very safe and during the tour we felt very well taken care of. It was an excellent day with this tour company.
We did several private transfers with Shaspo Tours. We had four flights within Egypt on Air Egypt and always had Shaspo Tours take us to the airport or take us to the hotels. Each time they were on time and very reliable!
We traveled to Cairo, Aswan, Luxor and Marsa Alam with Shaspo Tours. We also did the Nile River Cruise with them. Every accomadation we booked was incredible! All our tours and the English speaking guides were excellent!
Mr. Sherif was in contact with me throughout the whole journey making sure we were safe and that all the representitives were doing their job of serving us. Shaspo Tours made it there one and only mission to serve us in everyway. When I need help, I would call Mr. Sherif and he would be in contact with the representive for that area to help me immediatly!
I highly recommend Shaspo Tours. They were trustworthy, affordable, and their services were excellent.

We found the tour to be very well organised and informative. The tour guide and the tour manager in Cairo were all very helpful and the whole tour ran like clockwork. The additional tour guides who were used at specific destinations in Aswan,Edfu etc... also were very good and knew their stuff so we did not miss out on anything of significance in any of the places we visited.
Instructions given were very clear and after the cost of the tour there was very little need to spend any additional money as almost everything was covered except lunches and dinners in Cairo. We had full board plan on nile cruise and the sleeper train was half board. Overall a very enjoyable experience and we would not hesitate to use them again.

A friend and I had a long transit in Cairo and wanted to see Giza, the pyramids, a souk, and the Egyptian museum.
First of all, if you ever wanted to see Cairo or Egypt – do it now, before crowds return. It was amazing. There were hardly any tourists at any of the historical sites!
Second, if you are going to do a transit tour there is no better day then Friday. Cairo is a huge city, and there are massive highways. I could tell that on most days of the week they were gridlocked. However, on Friday mornings they are clear. It was breeze to get from site to site and we didn’t hit any traffic!
Third, the guides from this company knew where to take you to get the best pictures. If you ever wanted to take a selfie of yourself locking lips with the Great Sphinx, these guys will get you there.
All-in-all, it was a great way to spend an afternoon. If I had to do again I would decrease the amount of time in the museum and spend more time in the souk (market place). That is not to say that the Museum wasn't good, but I love shopping and the souk had some very interesting pieces I would have liked to get for myself. The prices in the souk were much better than those of the papyrus/alabaster dealerships.

We recently traveled to Egypt to experience it's history and beauty. We had heard that Egypt was a little sketchy, so we did quite a bit of research and decided to hire Shaspo Tours for a private tour. First off...... Egypt is VERY SAFE right now. We were met personally by Mr. Shirif, who in collaberation with us, designed our tour of Egypt. From the Museum in Cairo, the great Pyramid of Khufu, the Sphinx, the temples at Abu Simbal, a Nile cruise, the Valley of the Kings and numerous temples along the Nile to Luxor. All of our guides were prompt, courteous and professional. We felt VERY VERY SAFE and Shaspo Tours and Mr. Sherif, made sure our accomodations were perfect. Save yourself allot of time and just book the tour with Shaspo Tours. We couldn't be happier!

We love to travel!! We usually plan all of our trips on our own because it has the most flexibility and is an exciting research challenge, however, in Egypt we felt a "tour" would be a better option. Through Trip Advisor I found Shaspo Tours and I am so glad I did! From the beginning of the planning process to the very last day of our trip they were completely professional and responsive. Mr. Sherif planned a fantastic and affordable private tour for the two of us that left no stone unturned. He was very attentive to our needs and made sure that our accommodations were to our liking. If I were to return to Egypt I would not hesitate to book with Shaspo Tours. Incidentally, we did not feel "unsafe" in Egypt at all so go, go, go!!!!
