A whirlwind trip! Perfectly planned and executed by Marvelous! Our guides were Egyptologists and really knew their stuff. The drivers were safe, careful, and mindful of a westerners view of driving lol...every day was more grand than the rest, building into an unforgettable experience. We did the 10 day and changed the itinerary many times before settling into the trip of a lifetime! The patience Marvelous had with us was so greatly appreciated. Every contact was very helpful and knowledgeable with getting us checked in and onboard all modes of transportation and accommodations. All in all, the trip was Marvelous! We plan to go back and will be using these guys again!

We booked a cruise with "Marvelous Travel Egypt" on the boat Seminaris II and every single aspect of the cruise was bad. I do not want to write a book, so in short: - The boat itself is dirty. It smells bad even in the lobby - Our room was at the back of the boat, next to the engine. There is always noise and the more you walk towards the back of the boat the more it smells gasoline. You cannot open the window as it becomes too loud and the smell increases - The boat pollutes the environment as well as its passengers. You basically cannot enjoy the sundeck because of the smell. - They sell you a cruise but it is not a cruise. The boat sails during the nights and stays in cities during the day. We only had 2h of sailing on the 2nd day in the morning. - The staff is only nice to you if you tip. Marvelous Travel Egypt wrote us the tips are optional, but this is wrong! At the end, when you leave the boat, the guy at the front desk gives you an enveloppe to put your tips in. And it is a nighmare to refuse. We refused and we had to have the help of our guide who talked to the manager over the phone to get out of it. - I do not put all details here but the food, the service, the animation....everything is basically very very low standard. To avoid responsibility Marvelous Travel Egypt indicates the number of stars are according to local standards. I would expect from a travel agency to really explain what to expect beforehand...otherwise what's the point for travellers to go via a travel agency ? - Marvelous Travel Egypt says you pay in advance for all activities and visits but this is again a lie. When you go to a temple or somewhere via a taxi or a small boat, the guide tells you to tip the driver. He even tells you the amount you have to give. HOW COME these drivers are not paid properly by the agency? By doing this Marvelous Travel Egypt encourages an economy based on tips where people are not properly paid and entirely rely on tips. So of course the tip becomes mandatory as the tousists feel bad because these people are not paid otherwise. Having a guide is necessary to visit egypt otherwise you get scammed every 5 meters :). And our guide had a lot of knowledge and his explanations were great. This is the only positive point I can add here. BUT: Marvelous Travel Egypt does not tell you all places the guide drives you to. This way we "visited" a shop for Papyrus, one for fragrances and one for "local" crafts". Not in the planned/paid program. In each of these shops a well established strategy forces you to buy. It was always painful to get out of it and don't buy. It's so obvious what they sell is not made locally and comes from China. Marvelous Travel Egypt should provide the full/detailed program. One last thing: the price! We paid 500 euros per person for this cruise and I think a lot goes into the pocket of Marvelous Travel Egypt and only a very few goes to the actual workers. This is not only expensive, it is not fair. Conclusion: don't go with Marvelous Travel Egypt. And if you want to go from Aswan to Luxor, don't sail on the Nile, do it in Taxi all by yourself. By the way, all temples and sites are exceptional! This we do not regret at all!

excellent. From start to finish everything was organised like clockwork. The guides were very knowledgeable fun and friendly, they could not do enough for us. All of the accommodation booked by marvelous egypt was to a high standard. I cannot commend our guides Mohamed and Memo, and our driver Abdoul enough, they made us feel safe and welcome. If thinking of visiting Egypt, please do, we felt safe and welcome the whole trip. At our request he guide to us to a local coffee shop in the non tourist part of town, we were made welcome by all the friendly people there. My wife and I felt safer in Egypt than we do in our Australian home town. We have also holidayed in UK and USA and can honestly say we felt safer in Egypt that we did in any of these.

This is the second time I have used Marvelous Egypt Travel to visit Egypt. The first time was off a cruise ship for an overnight in Cairo and this 16 day adventure. I was pleased with MET’s communication skills in English and rapid email responses. I asked for a sample itinerary and then twicked it to meet our needs. Everything in Egypt is a travel bargain and staying in five star hotels is a norm. I was impressed with the seem less transfers on the trip. I believe traveling in Egypt independently would be a mistake. Even though Egypt is a safe place to visit, there is no financial saving to book cars, hotels, taxis, tours, etc. on your own. Being met and treated like a VIP at the Cairo Airport as we zipped through immigrations was cool, especially after a long flight. My honey and I travel 70% of the year and are always looking for five star experiences at a fair price. Egypt is a travel bargain, safe and a friendly place to visit, but I won’t do it on my own even though we are experienced travelers. I found a travel agent called Marvelous Egypt Travel (MET) and used them to coordinate our 16 day adventure in Egypt and that was a very good decision because of their ability to put together a seemliness experience. From the time we landed at the Cairo Airport we received VIP treatment for our group of two everywhere we traveled. There are a number of factors to consider: 1. The size of your group - Do you like to be in a small group of your friends or with a random group of 30 or 40 people? 2. Transfers are essential to a successful trip in Egypt and MET had up met and escorted everywhere we traveled. 3. The ship. MET picked the M/S Farah and booked the 7 day RT Luxor to Aswan Nile River Cruise. The Farah is a 5 star ship with excellent service. In addition to the standard nice cabin there are two “Royal Suites” on the ship that are available for a reasonable cost. That what we booked and were happy. 4. The Guide. An Egyptian expert that speaks your language is essential. The guide will be given a cabin and the ship and will coordinate the sites you will see. Everywhere we went the guide was with just the two of us and that’s special. Plus he was knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. 5. The Cost. We enjoyed a 16 day adventure for two people in Egypt that included 3 days in Cairo, a 7 day RT Luxor to Aswan Nile River Cruise, 2 days in Luxor, 3 days in Sharm El Sheikh, and a day in Taba with land and air transfers and most meals for a fraction of the cost for “inclusive” or a group tour. In conclusion it took me a little time on Trip Advisor to research Egyptian Tours. Travel in Egypt can be complicated, but using the right services made our time in Egypt a trip of a lifetime. If you want to step back in history and see the sites of Egypt, it may never be as reasonable as it is today. Prices will only go up as more people figure out that Egypt is special and safe.
