If you love Korean food or love to cook then this is the class for you! Its for small group of people so grab your friends and book. I booked a class with Anne for my Dad and Step-Mom for Christmas and the three of us took the class while I was in Korea for a visit. Anne does a wonderful job of walking us through a Korean market and explaining some of the items we were seeing. After the market, the cooking fun started. We have never laugh so much during a cooking class. Anne explain each step and went at our speed. Both Anne and her mother are very warm and welcoming. If you have a question ask it, they both a happy to answer how questions and create a very fun environments.

This was my 2nd time joining this class. I had joined the class with my mom on our trip to Seoul last January, and told all my friends how awesome it was. So when my Japanese colleagues and I had a chance to visit Seoul again, it was a must for us to book for Sobaan class. We had to work during weekdays, but there was no class on weekends, so I emailed Sobaan and Anne arranged a weekend class especially for us.
We had a wonderful experience cooking Bulgogi, Japchae and a Korean dessert, and we had a blast.
Anne made us feel so welcomed and made the class so fun and was engaging with us all. My colleagues loved her beautiful house, and the Bulgogi we cooked was by far the best Bulgogi I have ever had. She even emailed the recipe after we came back.

I certainly recommend Sobaan Cooking Class!

I took this class via the air bnb platform. As I’m seeking other experiences in Seoul, I came across this class again. I am compelled to share my experience-again 😇.

This was a wonderful experience to learn how to cook Korean food in a very nice home vs business studio.

Anne is extremely educated and spoke fluent English. She is very professional and can share korean cultural pulse. Our class had the pleasure of meeting her mom and she made the experience even more special. She can cook delicious Banchan!

They are both gracious hosts.

Next time I’m in Korea I will learn from them again!

I'm sure my tour to Seoul would not have been complete if I hadn't attended Anne's class on Korean cuisine. As I enjoy cooking I searched for cooking classes in Seoul, but all I could find were groups of people in a rather run down environment, each one preparing a recipe of his own. What called my attention to the Sobaan Korean Cooking class was the idea of a small group cooking class in a cozy place. We started with a tour at a local market where I had the chance to learn about some foods I had already seen elsewhere but had nobody to tell me what it was. Anne's a talented chef and gave me clear instructions as we talked about Korean food and culture. After preparing our Bibimbap I ate the delicious meal. Her home has all these beautiful traditional embroidery her mom carefully makes. A piece of art! I highly recommend it and I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as I did.

This class became the highlight of my trip. Loved it and HIGHLY recommend to everyone.

Anne was an excellent host and teacher!! She was waiting for us at the meeting point, and she took us around a local market,

and explained about special ingredient and even suggested appropriate ingredient in case we can't find it in Turkey.

The market tour was fun, and informative at the same time. Actual class takes place at her beautiful apartment.

We just fell in love with all the beautiful embroidary works and even funiture and lamp.Traditional but sophisticated ones.

We thought we were so lucky to have a chance for this cultural experience even learning cooking.

We cooked Bulgogi and Japchae in the first session so that we could eat them with rice as Koreans do.
She was so knowledgeable about food. We could see different kinds of rice. She explained every step one by one

so that we could follow easily, and was so caring. Then we had our own food in even more beautiful dining room.
It was just an AWESOME experience. After lunch, we made Dasik, a kind of Korean dessert. It was fun and simple.
After we made the dessert, we enjoyed them with green tea in a very Korean traditional style.

After we came back to Turkey, she emailed us the recipe.

During our trip, we experienced a lot in Seoul, but it was 10 out of 10 activity in Seoul.

This was a great immersion into a Korean family's home. My spouse and our 3 kids attended. Here's what we loved about the class:
1) Anne tailored the lesson and tools for the kids. Even our 7 year old participated.
2) The food was delicious, and we learned to make it ourselves.
3) The apartment is beautifully decorated with handmade items.
4) The market is a traditional style market in a modern area, not like the tourist markets in central Seoul
5) Anne speaks excellent English, has lived in London and toured the USA. She is an excellent teacher and is easy to understand.
