The site and attraction fabulous.
But the signage to this attraction is atrocious. First day tried to enter from the north east following a visit to Bongeun sa.
I gave up.
Went back a few days later.
Non existent from the metro.
Did see a sign eventually a few meters away.
Worth seeing but I do hope the tourist authorities take heed

I love history and the outdoors so this was a twofer for me. Lovely winter walk along woodsy trails with botanic specimens and birds/ wildlife PLUS beautiful Joseon Era tombs. Could not have spent a nicer afternoon though I bet the Spring is spectacular.

I love learning about history when visiting a location! There is a media centre here so you can see how the tombs are made and where they are situated.
You can’t get very close to the tomb but you can certainly see them.
I had a fabulous guide who explained everything even why you can’t walk in certain areas.

This place looks fantastic in Autumn with all the trees changing colour.
The walk is quite peaceful between the royal tombs and they have a small history museum as well.
If you are in Seoul on a budget the entrance fee is only a thousand won so great value for your money.

It was a 15 minute walk away from the Seolleong Subway Station, and I read in a blog to check this preserved place out before "getting hammered in Gangnam". The place surrounding it is very modern, but I am impressed that the Korean government followed through to preserve this as a park, very well taken care of.
Large outdoor space with a lot of trees and green hills, and although you cannot climb onto the top of the mound to see everything, this is still a great site for historical buffs. The pamphlet at the entrance helps to explain whose tombs these were and what the gates, shrines, and pathways mean. There were groups of school students when I went and spending time there was lovely as a change to Seoul's towering modern buildings around it.
There is also a 500 year old gingko tree beside the guardhouse. Great sight and not too overcrowded like other touristy places. Do check it out to relax.

This is where King Seongjong & his Queen Jeonghyeon in the Joseon Dynasty era were buried. This queen had a deep interest in Buddhism & founded the nearby Bonggeunsa Temple in 794. The other king buried here is King Jungjong, the second son of King Seongjong. It's a beautiful, serene place with lots of trees, plants & some flowers. A good place to take a stroll & commune with nature & also to learn about Korean history during the Joseon era. This place is listed in the UNESCO Heritage Sites.
