Beware if you are with persons that are badly walking. It is very hilly terrain! The village apparently is a shadow of what it was. The locals were disturbed to the point that they have painted over many of the murals. And the murals that don't have a store front owner, or are not in direct sun, are faded or vandalized. It's ok and a quirky little part of Seoul, but definitely not a must see. There is a beautiful park next to it though(Naksan park).

Once full of shacks after the Korean War, this moon village is now home to a variety of art. A fun place to walk around for an afternoon. The highlight selfie spot is the Angel wings at the lower level.

I went here an hour before sunset and did not find lots of murals anymore, or maybe I was just in the wrong alley? Not sure really. There were a lot of steps so be prepared. The murals I did find were nice, but not enough to make me want to come back here.

A quiant and pretty village. Spent some time walking and enjoying the artistic drawings and paintings. A very delightful morning, and then walk further to the Naksan park.

Nice vibe. Went there late afternoon. Area isnt crowded. Good sites to see! Recommended to be done alongside Seoul City Wall walk. 👌🏽

I love how art can transform a village. All it takes is imagination and a love of place. What was once a post Korean War refugee village has now been transformed into a beautiful walking experience with wall murals adorning every house and fence. And of course you can stop at cafe's along the way.

We came here after a brilliant visit to the Changdeokgung Palace and gardens, as it was recommended in my book. It really just feels like another small village with not much else to say about it. There are barely any murals at all and the ones which we saw weren’t even that good for a photo, so we didn’t take any. All in all, don’t go out of your way to come here.

Sadly many of the murals have been painted over in white paint as the local residents do not like the noise and disruption. Ok to look around if you are in the area but I would not make a special trip of it . The old school site is however quite memorable

The paintings have been covered by the inhabitants with white paint and some streets have been blocked so you would think that there is nothing to do here anymore BUT you can still go there to enjoy the city wall and if you go to the top of where the painting where, there is a very nice coffee named Gaeppul with a stunning view of Seoul.
Well worth it.

I really enjoyed walking around here and checking out the various wall murals, artsy corners as well as traditional houses and stores. Had a nice bingsu - shaved ice korean dessert with red beans to cool off from the heat. A lot of stores and restaurants were closed during the time I visited due to corona virus; however, I was lucky the streets were not packed with many tourists and people. Coming here offered a little escape into the past. I recommend visiting this artsy village when you are in Seoul.
