Neighborhood: Itaewon
Neighboring the immense Yongsan American Garrison, Itaewon was once shunned by locals as a seedy, red light district. But within the past few years, Itaewon and its surrounding neighborhoods such as Kyunglidan and Haebangchong have undergone a major revival to quickly become one of Seoul’s hottest areas. Here, trendy international restaurants dot the area alongside hip lounge bars and some of Seoul’s hottest club venues. After dark, Itaewon comes into its own as one of Seoul’s top party scenes. The crowd is a fascinating patchwork of all backgrounds and identities, including a small but thriving Muslim community (centered on Korea’s sole mosque), the LGBT community (with a string of popular bars and clubs), and a wide range of ethnicities and cultures scattered around. Those seeking a quiet respite should head towards the eastern end, in Hannam-dong, which not only has one of Korea’s best art museums, the Leeum Samsung Museum of Art, but plenty of mid-range to upscale restaurants and cafes.

Mr. Choe made two custom suits and four custom shirts for me from scratch in 9 days! These six items cost the same as one suit in the U.S. and fit better than any suit I've ever owned! Excellent workmanship, thoughtful details, and incredible value.
If you are visiting Seoul and think you might want a new suit, be sure to stop in -- you won't regret it!

Upon arriving at Savile Row, you will be greeted by the expert owner of this fine establishment, Mr. Choe. He has years of experience and, unlike many of the tailors in this region, he has adopted a more Western business sense, in that he actually listens to the customers' requests and is eager to please in every respect.
To present, I have had over ten custom, 100% cotton shirts made; six pairs of trousers hemmed and tapered to a slim-fit style; four suit coats tapered and fitted to perfection; and one overcoat, which was completely reworked from arms, to shoulders, to back to fit a slim frame. My wife has also had several dresses and skirts fitted, as well as, several women's blouses custom made out of fine materials (Mr. Choe has an exclusive selection of rare fabrics).
Mr. Choe can make or rework almost anything that you bring to the table. Workout wear and general, casual clothing items are not off limits. After all, everything looks better when well-fitted.
In addition to Mr. Choe's extreme attention to detail, his turnaround rate is quite quick, taking only one week to perform most alterations and to custom make single clothing items.
Best of all, Savile Row is fare in price. A custom shirt will cost around 70,000 won or about $70 USD, a steal considering the quality and exact proportions of each item.
I recommend Savile Row to anyone who is ready to begin the process of developing a custom or bespoke wardrobe -or- for individuals looking for a single item that fits and feels like perfection. I consider myself a regular at Savile Row, as I usual stop in every two weeks or so, and I am never disappointed with the result.
Coming from my extensive experience, don't waste your time with the other tailors in the area (I have visited six); they may be a few dollars cheaper, but the result will be disappointing in the end. Trust me; Mr. Choe is your man!

I was first introduced to Mr. Choe and Saville Row tailors as a college student by my father in the 1980s. I returned in 2005 to get a couple of suits. I returned to Korea for the first time in 14 years to get another suit. Mr. Choe's professionalism and attentiveness to detail and excellent service makes him the tops in tailored suits all over Asia (as a US based person, I have gotten suits tailored through Raja Fashions out of Hong Kong who makes road shows to select US cities). I estimate he takes 10 additional measurements that competitors did not and he is also very candid about the materials. If you are visiting Korea, this is a must stop for anyone who would like a custom tailored suit that makes you look and feel like a million bucks.

I've lived and worked in Seoul for many years, and I value dressing well. Seoul is one of those cities in the world in which made-to-measure tailoring is readily available. Mr. Choi, who owns and operates Savile Row Custom Tailor, is one of the last few masters of the sartorial craft in the city. He's made several suits and complementary two-piece outfits for me and he has earned my trust in every respect. He is patiently and courteously attentive to the customer, attentive to details, and helpful in advice. I recommend him highly for your next suit, blazer, sports jacket, or trousers. And as a general rule for men, I recommend tailor-made garments over off-the-rack.

Excellent experience: Mr. Choe walks you through the process, explains the difference between made-to-measure vs bespoke, and is quite fluent with different options. His "default" recommendations were just what you'd need to be stylish and extremely well put-together. He doesn't touch some low-end practices like fused suits; every mark of quality I knew to look for was there, no question. I opted for a local material he recommended, and it looks better than the super-110s Italian suit it hangs next to in my closet, with no sign of wearing worse over a year (ignore this post's date).
I also have to give his back office great credit for scheduling three visits in a week: I walked in Tuesday and took a bespoke suit with me Sunday.

I visited this month to have a suit made for my upcoming wedding. Mr Choi was very friendly and professional, and he gave some great suggestions for the design and style. I showed a photo of what I was looking for and Mr Choi helped me customize it to my fit and personal tastes. It took about two weeks to finish and it is by far the best looking and most comfortable suit I've ever owned. I highly recommend stopping by here for any formal wear you may need.

The same 5 star quality as when I visited 34 years ago. Definitely recommended. The personal service and confident measurement and range of cloth is still there. Only the prices have gone up to be about the same as Europe for customised shirts. I am sure the suits are great but did not try this time.

I am by no means an expert on tailoring and purchasing a suit. However, I can say that I was extremely satisfied with my purchase at this business.
On my first visit, I was greeted warmly by Mr. Choi, who took interest in my career and specific need for a suit. I told him I wanted a slim fit suit for a doctoral defense in the Washington DC area. He considered the climate there, the occasion, and he showed me a set of fabrics I could choose from.
After 2 fittings and a final check over a period of a month, I left Korea with a sleek and sexy suit that received a lot of compliments. I am so satisfied with the level of service and quality that I will most definitely return to this shop when I need a suit. A+ work

How long does it take for a blazer jacket? What is the price range?

I'd guess 2-3 days if you want made-to-measure, maybe 5-6 if you want it bespoke. He should be able to ship it to you later if you can't pick it up.
Not sure about price for a blazer; maybe $400-600 depending on the material?
