Starry Night Experience
Feb 2020
Visited this as this is a free attraction from the Discover Seoul Pass. Experience is pretty interesting, lovely colors, Vincent van Gogh-style paintings, animations and overall setting. The staff is very friendly and dedicated, love the acting during shows. Although it will be very helpful if English subtitles can be projected on screens during the shows for us to better understand and appreciate the story.

For those interested in art and interesting visuals
Very interesting venue, showcasing historic and famous replicas of paintings. There is an English audio guide to introduce the paintings and historic background of the painters. Worth checking out if you're around in Dongdaemun and if you have an avid interest in art!

Pretty cool place for a Van Gogh fan!
This place is pretty and feels like you're in the painting/drawings of Van Gogh. You get to unfold his life through his creations and such. The musical was a nice mix of an actual performer + technology. Sadly, I wasn't able to follow much since it's in Korean and other areas with the musical were difficult for foreigners. Overall, it was a great experience!

Moving, Beautiful and Rich with Kind Staff
Note: I speak a little Korean. The ticket to the museum is a bit expensive but it's comparable to Australian prices. I heard about the museum from the Discover Seoul Pass Plus edition but didn't have a chance to go while my pass was active. The museum is a dedication to Paris-based impressionist artist Vincent Van Gogh. When I went there were a lot of students but I was under the impression that it isn't that popular as a destination. To get here you need to go to DongDaeMoon and walk to the Hyundai Outlet Mall, go through the doors then go right and take the Elevator to level 11, its beside the cinema behind the Escalator to a members only floor. The lady at the counter explained to me that there were quite a few exhibits so it might be hard for me to understand. There is free wifi and an app to download that explains the rooms in the museum in 4 languages including english. The shows have no photos allowed. Each room is decorated like a typical Parisian scene from way back when with a cafe in the middle and at the end the gift shop. I believe you can't go back into the centre if you enter the shop so leave it to last. This museum also has a lot of artworks and projectors in each room making for some cute photo opportunities. Furthermore they have a stamp trail for you to follow. It's not hard and the prize is a 50% discount on a return visit. The staff really put their soul into this place. There is an actor who plays Van Gogh in the musical and I believe VGs brother in the live show. The projection show in area 2 runs every 20 or so minutes from 1020 and the other shows run every hour on the quarter. The cafe was sold out of food because of the students but you can also buy absinthe (for some reason) there for 8000 won (wtf?). The staff were really open about it being noisy because of the students and constantly asked me if it was okay if I go together with them. They gave me a chair during the 2nd show to sit behind the children and came to find me while I was waiting to let me know I could go in. I was so moved by the musical, it totally blindsided me. The projections are in so many places some you dont expect. Theres a post office where you can wear the postman hat and the letter boxes have small projections/animations there. I also want to note that the souvenirs are really high quality as well. I loved this place and I'm still thinking about it. Would go again if I visit seoul in the future.

Romantic and very informative

Immersive experience. One can borrow an audio guide in English from the ticket office for free. Make sure you synchronize the audio tape with the shows. Three shows. High quality and affordable souvenirs. Take your time to enjoy - I spent 2 hours there - 3 shows included. Tips: some drawings talk, when out at floor 11 have a look to the buildings around, phones charging is free at the cafe. Personal opinion: for a more rewarding experience do your homework: read about life and work of the artists.

Dismal, boring, utterly crap
Not at all suitable for English speakers. We thankfully were refunded the full amount, so we are grateful for that.

Worth to visit and really interesting
Dec 2018 • Family
I came with my mom and we're really enjoy the whole thing the L'atelier has offered. The interactive media were interesting and really detailed. The interior was beautiful and also detailed. Pay attention to every detailed...since some of the decorations equipped with really nice video about the daily activities such as you will never imagine that I found some kind of basement's window underneath a table that showed an interesting scene (hope that you can get what I meant). All the live performances were equipped with an interesting media, and the performers were really did a great job. The staff were so unbelievably friendly and helpful. They were really informative and really nice to us and spoke in English really well. Two thumbs up for all the staff. They did make the place became a perfect place to spend our holiday time in Seoul. If I had another chance to go to Seoul for the third times...I definitely wants to come back and wish to find the same staff. One of my favorite place that I have visited. Keep up the good work dear all staff.
