Neighborhood: Hongdae
Carefree enthusiasm is everywhere in this energetic neighborhood centered on Hongik University, Korea’s top art school. From its assortment of murals to the occasional amateur street performances, creativity and expression make up the wild and beating heart of vibrant Hongdae. At the Free and Hope Market (weekends at the Hongdae Children’s Playground) you'll find one of Seoul’s most popular handmade and creative markets drawing consistent crowds. At Hongdae, there’s never a shortage of things to do and see; food and drink options are nearly endless as are shops and noraebang (karaoke) rooms. Hongdae is also one of Seoul’s top party and club scenes catering to a younger demographic; if a packed club isn’t your scene, you'll also find a range of music venues and bars offering live music in all genres. Although Hongdae has lost much of its unique appeal and undergone rapid commercialization in recent years, be sure to explore Hongdae’s edges in areas such as Sangsu-dong and Yeonnam-dong where Hongdae’s fiercely independent streak still runs freely.
How to get there
  • Hongik University • 5 min walk
  • Sangsu • 9 min walk

This was so much fun and a great laugh! A must do along with the Trickeye Museum. It was fun to see such a crazy place in what is a pretty conservative city. Don’t be shy, go and have a laugh it’s well worth it for the hilarious photos you’ll get!

When you think "Love Museum" you think Valentine's Day... This is NOT that!! LOL. If you're not easily offended by human sexuality and artwork, then please make this part of your trip!! It's so much fun!!

My friend and I stopped by the Love Museum and thought it was hilarious.
It’s kinda small but it’s packed full of erotic art from comic strips to ancient Korean erotica. The interactive sculptures and cutouts were hilarious but it’s best to go with a group or three or more so that you can utilise photo opportunities more.
Exploring the museum doesn’t take longer that an hour but there is also a trick eye museum in the basement. The admission for this is separate.

Visited with friends over Chuseok and it was a really funny and interesting place to visit. Great to take pics and we even helped out an older Korean couple take some pictures. We agreed that it would have been an interesting place to go on a date so would highly recommend this place for someone looking for a unique date location.

I went with my friend and we both think the place was much more interesting than what I was expecting. In the museum, I found really nice places to take pictures not only for me, but also together with my friends!!! The mood in the place is amazing, I recommend you to visit one night with your gf or bf!.

This museum is situated in Hongdae and can be a really funny experience for couples or even friends if you just want to chill. Minors are obviously not allowed as this museum can get pretty kinky. My friend and I really laughed a lot though! I definitely recommend it!
