Seems to be part of every tour in Seoul and touted as a tour of a ”factory”, it is in fact just a shop with a bit of a discount. It might be genuine bit the premise is a rip off. A tedious waste of time unless you desperately want a purple stone.

Went there with a tour group. Wasn't intending to buy but my relative was about to puchase it until I stopped her upon seeing other bad reviews online. The shop stated 30% off but they were giving 40% off. Our tour guide tried to bargain more for us but they didnt budge. Showed the promoters the reviews of this shop (emphasized on the bad ones) and the only response they could give was that anyone could write a bad review online. They had some sort of certification card from GIA which the promoter will fill in the blanks for you upon purchase (standard practise i guess). Purchase at your own risk, wouldn't recommend due to the inconsistent prices they offer when cross checking with the rest of the reviews online. And if you're the promoter reading this after I showed you the reviews, hello and time to change your occupation.

Just warning everyone who will be going to an Amethyst Shop in Seoul: Do not get anything unless they can certify the genuineness of the stones. I bought a Silver Amethyst dress ring and cost me AUD $250+. I was a bit skeptical about the price since Amethyst is only a semi precious stone and it's the cheapest stone we sell where I work at..... but didn't really listen to myself and thought "it might be because it's a really good quality one, color and clarity wise". So I closed my eyes and went ahead with the purchase. I still had doubts so when we went back home, I got it sent away for a Valuation... guess how much it's valued at?? a dashing $25!!! YES! $25 AUD. I am more than brokenhearted at the moment. So please, be aware!!!

Part of our tour is a visit to Seoul Amethyst Store. They have a beautiful jewelry store that basically sells Amethyst. Tourists who buy Amethyst bracelets, ring or necklace get a discount from this shop.

After an awesome half day excursion to the DMZ, my full bus of tourists was unfortunately forced to parade through this place with various hawkers enticing us to buy their stuff. I could tell that it was not a good place to shop, and even if it was, having 10 minutes to buy an expensive piece of jewelry is crazy. I wish the tours wouldn't make this stop, but I suppose they get a kickback!

We visited this shop as part of an organized tour of other places. The shop workers haggled prices. Initially 20 percent off and then eventually 35 percent. The stones were lighter purple: darker the stone more valuable. I wasn't impressed.

Many tour groups come to this store where you can actually see a workshop where the amethysts are cut, polished and the actual jewellery is crafted. There is a wide range of jewellery available for sale.

Went there on Nov 3 2018 as part of the group tour package that we got. It was not part of my purpose while in Korea but have to be there as part of the group. We were welcome by an employee who gave us the benefits of having amethyst stones. After that, we were led to the inner room where vast displays of necklaces, rings and earrings on various stone sizes.

The cheapest ones are located near the exit area at a souvenir price.

I just stayed near the exit area because i just wasnt interested. Good thing is that there is really no pressure to buy however, it was 2 hours of my time i could have spent somewhere else.
