Thank you to Roman for organising a fabulous week for us. Wonderful to learn about Georgia’s history and trek in the beautiful Caucasus mountains for the first time whilst learning about the Tusheti of life. Accommodation, food, village communities, scenery and guides were all exactly as we wanted. What an exciting road to get to Tusheti. This is not a trip if you want luxury, but if you want real exposure to a hidden corner of the extremes of Eastern Europe still living the way it did a century ago it is highly recommended. We met some lovely caring people and ate and drank well. We will be back.

Roman organised a great week of walking, sightseeing and wine tasting so that we really got an authentic flavour of Georgia. He and his wife are very welcoming and keen to share their knowledge and culture. The road up to Tusheti is an experience in itself and though the accommodation is understandably basic, its clean, comfortable and with good food . To get hot showers and towels was an unexpected treat!

We were REALLY looking forward to this trekking adventure unfortunately, our experience was....okay. The drive up to tusheti is terrifying! But that will be the same regardless of the tour company you use. Unfortunately, the drive down was a little scarier due to a driver who drove too fast despite us asking him to slow down. I think typically Roman (the owner) drives both ways but he hired a taxi driver to take us down to Tbilisi from Tusheti (around 7 hours) the last day. Our guide was nice enough but that’s the extent. He was unable to tell us much about the history of the buildings or the regions and didn’t comment on the great foods we were eating or plants. The second guest house was excellent but the first one was not great...our room was directly off the family’s living room and kitchen. And the bathroom has a broken window above the door so everyone in the kitchen/living room could hear EVERYTHING from the bathroom. The views are exceptional. The food was great! Overall, this experience was just okay. Roman is wonderful though. If you secured a good driver, a better (more informative) guide, and a better guest house it would be a phenomenal experience.

I organised a two day trip to Shatili with Roman of Tushetiland Travel for my parents. They really enjoyed this little adventures to this pretty remote part of the mountains north of Tblisi. Roman was great in communicating and organised Koba as their excellent driver and guide!

We recently went on a four day trip to Tusheti with Roman. It was an amazing and unforgettable experience. The scenery is unparalleled, with beautiful views of the Caucus mountains. Roman was a helpful, responsive and excellent guide. He catered to our specific needs and hiking abilities, ensuring throughout that we were getting the most from our trip. He was also a safe and cautious driver and at no point did we have any concerns about the road to Tusheti. Thoroughly recommended.
