Like a lot of old walled cities, the remnants of the walls are incorporated into newer buildings. In Tbilisi they have some areas where archaeological digs have exposed walls, some sections have buildings constructed on top of or within the walls and there are a few sections of wall that have been restored and preserved. Overall, it gives a good sense of the history of the city while relating to the future as the city continues to change. The traffic along the street adjacent to the wall is relentless. There are some great restaurants and cafes in the area but sitting outside is neither peaceful nor relaxing.

The remains are in Old Tbilisi, there is actually only a very limited part that is left, but you will see it anyway as it is right in the tourist area.

What is interesting about the wall ruins here in Tbilisi is that they consist of many layers which is the result of a long history. Also, it is integrated quite fairly in todays life (as you can see in the pictures)

The city walls still show interested people quite a lot about the ever changing history of Tbilisi. You see remnants from various centuries and learn something about the rulers of this city or the country of Georgia. I remember walking down Pushkin and Barataschwili Street in the sunset. That was very atmospheric, despite the traffic rolling by

There's not really much left of the walls of Tbilisi, but you can get a glimpse of a few parts that have been retained. There are a few restaurants which have integrated themselves into the walls if you would like to spend a bit more time up close.
