I got a private room as it wasn't first time, just wanted to sample it. After about 25 minutes of the hour, the lady comes in, "Five minutes, five minutes". I think 1) it's opportunistic scamming - only happens if they have more customers waiting and 2) they try to take advantage of you feeling vulnerable through nakedness and language barrier. Well, lady, you chose to walk in on me having a bath - that's your lookout. Anyway, just hold your nerve.
So, the experience us fine but if you're expecting Western spa levels of cleanliness and service, go to a spa in a Western country. Here, you're getting something different. Very refreshing and I didn't get any massage or anything- just used the baths and sauna.

The public bath was simple. 8 Lari to ener. Massage cost 10 Lar or 10 Lari for a scrub. It is a 5 minute process, but enjoyable. We have done baths before so this was a simple experience. Nothing fancy. I am sure there are "Fancy" experiences....but for a few dollars, you can have a nice experience.

I read so many strange stories about all the baths! So to keep it simple: I stayed near the sulphur baths so I could have a daily soak. They are all close to each other. This one is old and run down but it's the water that counts. Pay GEL 5 for entrance. Change to birthday suit. The guy at the desk will lock reopen 4u and offer tea 4 free. The water is bloody hot. There's also a sauna. Shower b4 and after your soak. A good scrub and lathering costs GEL 20. LASTS 10/15 MIN. Massage as per say is not part of the Georgian culture. Enjoy!

1 star out of 5 compared to any hot terms in Europe (like any in Budapest) or Israel (like Hamat Gader).
I went to a public zone, it's really cheap, 10 GEL per hour (but it seems nobody will check and you'd probably won't stay longer)
It's a very small place from the Soviet period, with ~12 sulfur showers, small hot sulfur pool and a tiny sauna.
The manager smoked inside, some people smoked near sauna, the place isn't so clean, no place to sit and relax.
In Budapest you like the authenticity of the place and the vast majority of spings and saunas, in Israel it's quite new and renovated, here it's neither authentic nor renovated.

Very unprofessional and bad experience. The public bath might be ok. But taking any service from them they overcharge and I feel they didnt change the scrubber they used because lukd old but when I told the lady she avoided as they don’t speak english. Try avoid this one as its full of scammers. Also unhygenic, they don’t give water or anything and try charge you extra for everything. They charge me 90 on card and took 40 by cash which is way too high for 20 mins. And splitting when I said I wanna pay card is also dodgy, cheating their owners. Bad experience overall

The public bath experience: At the entrance it clearly states 10GEL for entrance, and a further 10 each for a scrub and a massage. So total 30 GEL per person. Reception insisted we paid 20 GEL to share a scrubbing mitt. The chap with the lockers wanted a further 10 each. So total 50GEL per person.
Inside, it’s small. Swimming trunks optional. One hot bath to sit in and one small sauna. Scrubbing and massage was about 3 mins each (locals got about 5 mins each). It really wasn’t very relaxing. Our mitt wasn’t used.
So in conclusion, I’d say go if you are a hard core baths fan. Don’t bother with the scrubbing.

I'll be honest, overall bath is ok and experience of sulfur bath as such is good. However entire experience was spoiled by service and fact that they did not use new-disposable shower sponge (the one they use to scrab you), when i realized that its used and how many people they scrab with this i came to reception and aks them why you dont use new one, they said: because you did not pay for new one, i replied that they didnt even offer, i thought that its already included in price of massage- receptionist did not even said sorry and made up face expression that she wants me out of their place. So service is bad and if you visit, ask them new scrub sponge otherwise you can catch any skin infection.
The rest is ok, very ordinary bath close to public baths in terms of quality

We were in the office which is down the stairs and the first door on the left.
I saw a very bad picture - dirty, broken, abandoned, scary. I don’t want anyone to get there. Visited late in the evening - many were drunk and inadequate
Next time I will try to find what is in the picture.

Georgian customer service is generally lacking but this place takes the cake... They cut our time short fifteen minutes and came in yelling several times that we had to get out (we had two scrubs/massages and mine hadn't even finished!). The manager came in yelling aggressively that she would call the police. Wtf? If Georgia hopes to become a mainstream tourist destination, they need a crash course in customer service. It became the most stressful "spa" experience and I've never encountered such rude people in the 50+ countries I've had the pleasure of visiting.

We choose to go to this Bath House - created in 1925. It is not as fancy but it is one of the oldest and apparently the one a lot of Georgians go to. We couldn't get a private room because they were all booked so instead we went to the public bathing area because we didn’t want to miss out on some sulphur bathing experience (it is also free). We had a fantastic time. The public bathing area for women is a tiled and domed room with sulphur showers (no actual baths) but lots of women of all ages and backgrounds who come here to shower, relax and gossip. The public showers are free! You can rent a towel (and/or sheet) and slippers and purchase a scrubbing mitt and soap. But you also CANNOT miss out on getting a scrub and foam massage. Both are performed by a smiling older woman who first scubs off lots! dead skin and then suds you down in a very soapy strong massage! (Pay in cash for your scrub and massage.) A note - there is lots of nakedness - so don’t be shy. Worth spending about an hour. The afternoon we were there, the age range was probably 20 to 80. Lots of chatting (in Georgian) - one woman was softly singing - it sounded beautiful echoing off the wall.
