I have no idea if the place is actually nice or not because we needed to quit after 200 meters walking with the guide. First corridor he stopped and show us a wall and I asked what is it and he said I am not geologists so no information and next stop. He literally yell my wife and another lady like, listen me right now and you can talk outside in 15 minutes with an angry look. I am not a kid nor my wife. I didn’t come to your shop to be yelled at. So Zaza the guide please go and do other job if you can not control yourself. Don’t give a damage to business at least.

Avoid at all costs. You are corralled like livestock through the tunnel and the ‘guides’ are terribly lazy and uninterested in answering any questions you may have. Of all the lovely places to visit in Georgia, there is no reason to patron this winery.

Level of unprofessional of their staff is mind blowing.

If you are some average Georgian and NOT DROPPING NAMES, don’t bother to be excepted in this winery!!! They try to be exclusive. For what? I have traveled the world, I have been almost everywhere and never have I ever experienced the level of disrespect to their Own people. It makes me sick to my stomach that realizing the Soviet era still has influence in Georgia. You still need to use some names order to get served. How disrespectful and disgusting, that is!!!!

It’s ok, I can take my kids back to France or Tuscany wineries to have way more pleasant experience than some average wineries in Kaxeti!!!! .

Said to be the biggest wineries in the country and storing their wine in deep underground.
Visited last June 2019
We were greeted by a song and dance number from the staff
You have to pay for wine tasting (find attached pic) including a tour in the underground - one tour guide will explain the history and evolution, making the wine, storing the wine and gave the wine tasting
Bring jacket as it cold inside the tunnel

The place was all inspiring and traditional. It really made my day. Tasting 4 kinds of wine, tasting georgian traditional drink(very similar to Tequila) baking bread, making BBQ and touring nice garden. U should really try it. The restaurant and the service wasn’t really satisfying. But the whole experience was quite worth time and money!

More than 7km of underground tunnels storing more than 25,000 bottles of wine! Some meatier Georgian wines, more like the French style but with the Georgian traditional methods.

It is said this is one of the biggest wineries in Georgia, we visited the tunnel where stored plenty of wine bottles, where posted plenty certificates the winery won also. On the way visitors could try the wine if they like. We have got nice view when reached the top of the tower around the restaurant, not just wine yard, but also snow mountain far away

Located near Telavi, in the heart of a lake region that is very popular with both tourists and locals. You can visit the tunnels dug into the mountain for wine storage, and the tasting gallery. Although the wine production is not located at the property, it is still interesting to see the wine displays, listen to the explanations, and taste wine and grape seed oil. If interested, one could enroll in short classes to learn how to make bread, and other items. They also have a very nice restaurant located further up the mountain in which a tunnels are located (you'll need to climb the wide stairs). Both the food and service were great.

It's a great place to get acquainted with the Georgian wine culture, including the ancient wine-making method using the Qvevri clay jars which is on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists.
The cellar is quite unique, almost 8 km of tunnels carved inside the Caucasus mountains. The wine tour is, of course, shorter and includes some interesting objects related to wine production as well as a tasting of wines combined with Georgian bread, cheese and grape seeds oil.

Another interesting thing is a mini-concert of traditional Georgian music that takes place from time to time (every hour, if I remember correctly).
