We undertook the Seat Of Power - Secretariat and Surrounds tour with Su who was a fluent and engaging guide. We examined a range of colonial buildings in varying states of disrepair, culminating with the the Secretariat, a massive administrative structure which is being restored and refurbished very effectively. It was a very good way to see the centre old Rangoon. Thoroughly recommended.

Did the walking tour with friends and enjoyed it. Great way to explore the downtown core, while learning along the way. Our guide also adapted to us needing a coffee break (and air Conditioning!)

With YHT, you can walk around the streets of downtown Yangon and hear a lot of nice stories about the glorious past of the city and some of the future challenges. Solidarasia travels visits Yangon city through this walk in Downtown Yangon. We choose to stay in Downtown hotels, to be close to the exceptional scenes this city has to offer. Walk with YHT and support their initiatives to protect Yangon architectural legacy.

While we didn't take a tour with the Heritage Trus because we already had our own guide, we did visit the Heritage Trust headquarters in Pansodan St, in the thick of the old colonial admnistrative area where many of the heritage buildings are located. It;s located in a heritage building itself and is accessed via a suitably crumbling staircase and opening onto a large elegant old room with generous french windows overlooking the street and onto more......heritage buildings, of course! There is a small display of relics from colonial times as well as a selection of books about old Rangoon and best of all, a collection of the most beautiful postcards of Rangoon and beaurifully dressed Burmese back in the day. Worth a visit whether or not you take a tour with them.

Mr No took us for a fascinating tour of Yangon s colonial architecture, including the Secretariat, the impressive and huge Edwardian building from which Britain ruled it Burmese possession. Clear and interesting explanations about many aspects of the visit. Thank you Mr No!!
