If you are a city tourist, don't bother. But if you want to see how the ordinary Myanmarese live, go to this market. Don't use shoes unless you are prepared to throw it away. Use slippers and wash your feet later. The drainage is poor and there are lots of (perishable) rubbish and mud. But its all worth it to see all the fruits, vegetables, flowers, dried fish etc. It opens on Monday too unlike the other popular tourist market.

The market is just outside of Yangon's downtown grip. It would have been a surprise to find a traveler.
You can visit to there with public transporation.
We can see at there , to see the local fruits, flowers and vegetables, which are transporated from different part of myanmar.
You can also withness the daily routine of workers, and their way of life.
This market is the maim market places for fruits and vegetables to be distributed all over Myanmar.
I'm sure you'll see very different seen here.
I suggest you not to miss this places when you arrive Yangon.

A lot of things in this place is out of this world. I am really sure you never seen like this in asia. Some food sold here is so exotic, you never heard of anyone eating that animal before.

I loved it-it was one of the highlights of Yangon. However, I am endlessly curious about food culture. This is the WHOLESALE market for Yangon. Trucks and lorries coming in and out filled with various fruits and vegetables. Many usual and surprising things even for the seasoned foodie. However, it IS filthy, the sellers are typically making their homes right there as well. And the sellers looked a bit nonplused when I wanted to buy 1 persimmon and a handful of tangerines. Wholesale marketeers are expecting to sell bushels at least! Fascinating!
