This Pagoda has an entrance fee for Foreigner. 3000Kyat each. Over here, you get to learn about Buddha's life in picture. You can see a replica of a Buddha relic. A number of Bohi tree. The tree that Buddha's gained his enlightenment.
Would advise tourist to engage a guide to bring you around the tour so that you have a better insight of the place.

Although comparatively new, having been built only in 1954, the Kaba Aye Paya does have important significance, particularly to Buddhists. The Pagoda was erected by the then Prime Minister of Myanmar, U Nu, in honour of the 6th Buddhist Council held from 1954-1956, to commemorate 2,500 years of Buddhism. The central stupa is 34 metres high with a circumference of also 34 metres, so is not insubstantial. On both the inside and outside of the Paya are numerous small silvery tiles which are very attractive. The inside of the Paya is dominated by the huge hollow central pillar covered in lovely blue murals of lotus flowers and such like. Inside the pillar, in an air conditioned room, which can be visited, are a number of Buddha relics as well as a nearly 3 metre silver Buddha statue. On the outside of the central pillar as well as a number of smaller Buddha images, there are 4 statues representing the four so called 'Great Buddhas' who are meant to have lived on Earth. Unusually, on the exterior of the Paya can be seen 5 'cave/porches' each with their own Buddha statues, and clearly a favourite place for monks to meditate.
In the extensive grounds in which the Paya stands there are also a number of monasteries as well as the Great Cave (Maha Pasana Guha), the Buddhist Art Museum, and other halls and learning centres. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to visit any of those other buildings.
The Kaba Aya Paya is a lovely tranquil place to visit and although maybe not a Day 1 priority for visitors to Yangon, should certainly be included on the itinerary of visitors who stay 2 or more days.

Located next to the Buddhist university, this pagoda is very nice and has a relic room that is open to non-Buddhists. The Buddha figures on the outside of the building are from other nations, so it's interesting to note the different characteristics. Across from this pagoda is the large meeting hall for the monks, where they present their exams and hold their "court". Really interesting to see.

I would recommend visiting this one before Schwedagon. Actually visit all pagodas before Schwedagon, as you will likely want to say: "that's it?" if you have seen Schwedagon Pagoda before.
Nonetheless this one is worth the trip. It has a central shrine vault, the decorations are quite nice and it is actually a peaceful non crowded monument. It is an easy taxi ride to the northern part of town, and can be combined with Tooth Relic Pagoda and Inya Lake visit.

By the way I visited this temple under heavy rain, but the place has a nice atmosphere, from the first stair of the main entrance, as usual a lot of shop offering anything you need to have a good day !!. The main praying area is quite large with a large Buddha image under a high ceiling, I was surprised to see a lot of young people around, maybe the proximity of lower income flat ?. Around pagoda few very nice trees, and little beat out the famous Mahapasana Cave look like some Dino park, This modern Cave is used for large Buddhist meeting, very high ceiling, theatre sitting and Burmese Art Deco make the whole quite strange !!.
This Pagoda is far from downtown, but close to Inya Lake.

The Kabar Aye pagoda and cave were constructed during the time of Prime Minister U Nu, approximately 1952. Therefore the style is different, or fairly modern if compared to Shwedagon and others pagodas. It is open daily, with an admission fee for tourists. In addition to those who make religious pilgrimages, the pagoda attracts domestic as well as foreign tourists as it has historical importance in the Buddhist Theraveda Tradition. This is because it was constructed in preparation for the Sixth Buddhist Council that was held from 1954-1956.

The Kabar Aye Pagoda has a Buddha's relic room. It has a peaceful surrounding, and those interested could enjoy a stroll in the large compound which includes the cave and a fish pond.

It is one of the famous pagodas in Yangon. In Kaba Aye Paya, it kept many ancient things concerning with Buddha. Car Parking is also available. You can go there by car, bus and taxi. In front of it, there is a small shopping mall.

We got there early before the crowds and before it got too hot. Plenty of things to see and for photos. Well worth a visit even though it's a short taxi ride away

Kabar Aye Pagoda is located at Kabar Aye Pagoda Road, Yangon. It is the most famous place in Yangon. I recommend taking pictures around pagoda and statute .There have GaMone Pwint Shopping Mall and Abidama Buddha University are near by.Beside of the ladder, there are many souvenirs shops which sell statues & flowers. A lot of car parking is inside and feel free to visit and take a rest while you are there.Shoe and sock is not prohibited for all visitors as usual .Not so far to Mya Khun Thar Park,Myanamr Plaza and Sedona Hotel.
