I took our two small children to have a look & it's not worth the effort. To get there is a mess, because of traffic & the park is also crowded.

It was great to sit underneath the column to commemorate independence and watch people and the old buildings that surrounds it. It also has toilets diagonally across from the Padola

This place is really great to sit back and people watch, it's very green and has a tranquil atmosphere, the history of the independence monument is interesting too, so look that up and consider it when you go there and ponder your surroundings.

This is probably the largest open area in the downtown and though, it is used for public celebrations and events. It is in walking distance from Chinatown or from the railway station. Good place to relax, just missing more shady places.
