L'importanza di questa testimonianza storica va inglobata in una terstimonianza più ampia che riguarda altri edifici limitrofi (ad es. l'edificio della Port Authority e la Custom House) che affacciano sulla stessa via.
La Yangon Region Court risale al 1900 ed è una delle strutture in murature più antiche di Yangon.
Si possono ancora notare i danni subiti dai bombardamenti nella seconda guerra mondiale, dal lato verso Bank St.
Attualmente il palazzo, pur essendo abitato, è in cattivo stato.
