In 2018 I visited Nay Pyi Taw city the capital of Myanmar on my business trip and loved it so much that I decided to do a 10-day tour to the whole country in September 2019. I had a fairly good idea of where I wanted to go and stay like a few days in Yangon, several overnight cruises from Mandalay to Bagan, stay in a floating resort on Inle lake, etc) but totally had no specific hotel or activities in mind. Enter Go Myanmar Tours and Ms. Rebecca was assigned to me. I found the company on the internet and after checking a few Trip Advisor recommendations I decided to contact them and began putting the details of our tour together which based mainly on Rebecca's recommendations. She was ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!! SO patient, understanding and professional. Everything was at a very reasonable price with high quality. Everything went as she planned it. The great accommodation (eg the Chatrium Hotel in Yangon was outstanding (see my separate review). During the tour, there were several destinations that were changed but the guides already told me in advance about that. I've learned so much about the country thanks to my local guides. I can't recommend Ms, Rebecca and Go Myanmar Tours highly enough. Book your tour with them, you won't regret it!!

Started off very well. I emailed and explained that I would be arriving the morning that I wanted to go trekking and wanted to be picked up at the airport and dropped off at my hotel and was told that this would be fine. Was promised the following: Inle Lake – Day Trekking Pick up at the airport. Drive to trekking point in Nyaung Shwe (about 10 minutes.  Start the 5 hour trek from there -walking through small ranges with tea-leaf and cheroot-leaf and coffee plantations - walking from village to village through spectacular highland scenery, you’ll be presented with stunning views and exceptional cultural encounters. After 2 & 1/2 hours you will approach to Khong Soin village.  You will have lunch at village school – cooked by our guide. There are about 100 students and you will have opportunity to meet with them.  From the school, you will see the whole area of beautiful Inle Lake. After lunch continue trekking and passing through Danu and Taung Yoe Tribal Villages and to learn and experience of Intha culture and the way of their daily life. In the mid-afternoon stop at one of the monastery to take a rest for a while, have snack and green tea. In the late after you will reach to Maing Thouk village. From there we will transfer you back to your hotel.  (*If your hotel is near Maing Thouk Village – we can arrange canoe boat for transfer – there will be additional small charge but its great experience)   Total trekking hour: 5 hours --- Level: Moderate My plane was 10 minutes late and my guide was waiting. All well and good. We started the trek which finished in less than 4 hours rather than the promised 5. No tea or coffee plantations, no highland scenery, no lunch at the village school, no real view of Inle Lake, no experience of Intha culture, no tea at the monastery. A real disappointment. I complained almost immediately on 6th February where I was told that part of the trek was missing because I was late. I was 10 minutes late and there was still another 2 hours left of daylight left by the time we finished trekking. I was also told that the guide had I wasn't able to "stand fatigue". In my email of complaint I explained that the guide had actually told me that I should "slow down" because he couldn't keep up. Despite numerous emails I am still waiting to get a proper explanation as to why my trek was not as advertised but have just been fobbed off. I paid $100 for this. I certainly would not recommend.

We had a fantastic family holiday through Myanmar thanks to wonderful planning, advice and guides arranged by Rebecca from Go Myanmar Tours. Right from the start, everything went smoothly and nothing was trouble for Rebecca despite many changes in plan along the way. Rebecca was always available and prompt with her reply. We had wonderful guides in each location at Yangon, Mandalay, Inle Lake and Began. They were all well presented, well informed and ready to attend to all our needs. I Have been recommending Go Myanmar Tours to all my friends. 5 stars!! Definitely recommend you book through Go Myanmar Tours .... ask for Rebecca. Thanks again everyone!! James

We just returned from our 12 days in Myanmar which was organized by Rebecca from Go Myanmar Tours. We cannot thank her and the company enough for making our 12 days in Myanmar outstanding. From our first contact within the website to the booking process, she was flexible and accommodating to making our tour really special and unique to us. The accommodation that she arranged for us including 2-night cruises and hotels the following cities of Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay, and Inle Lake was above and beyond excellent. Special note must be made of the Strand cruise which exceeded our expectations. Our local guides were knowledgeable and friendly. Special thanks to WinWin, our guide at Inle Lake who was enthusiastic and made my wife 40th birthday so special. Thanks also to Nora, our guide in Mandalay who taught us much useful information about the region and country. Thanks to Aung Thu whose a great sense of humor and professional knowledge and Soe in Yangon who introduced us to the stunning temples and a great seafood restaurant. We would, without reservation, recommend Go Myanmar Tours to anybody planning a tour to Myanmar who does not want to follow a standard package tour but rather a tour that incorporates your specific interests and needs, from planning through to the experience as a whole.
