We intended to go to Sunday mass but got the time wrong and missed out on the experience. However, we spent a lot of time praying inside and were very impressed with everything particularly the beautiful statue of Christ watching over the congregation. It seemed so real.

We went to the Cathedral one Sunday morning with one of the staff from Iririki Island Resort. For us oldies it was a fair climb in the humidity. It was worth it. The service was in French and Bislama, but it didn't matter. The choir was lovely and we were invited to take Communion. We were made feel welcome buy the ministry staff. Lovely to join with the local worshipping our great God.

If you are a catholic, this cathedral is a must. Go to the late Sunday morning mass as it has the local choir singing and it is a real experience. No music accompanyment, but the blendng of voices and harmony is amazing. The Mass is usually said in 3 languages, so don't be surprised if the priest goes from French to Bislami to English in the blink of an eye. We have even been to an Easter service where he even threw in some Italian for good measure! Can get a little hot and humid, but I figure if the poor nuns who attend can do it, I can as well!

Was lucky to catch the 9am Mass. The singing was amazingly good. These friendly people are full of joy and music. One of the highlights of my stay.

Even if you are not a regular, if you can get to Sunday morning mass you'll not regret it. The singing is wonderful and the locals colourful dress, the happy pikininis and the general atmosphere is wonderful. We felt blessed to be be able to share this experience and see a very real part of vanuatu life.

I am not sure how a church gets on the review list. The Cathedral in Vila is unique and commands a great spot on the hilloverlooking Vila town.

I decided to walk around the hills of Vila on a Sunday morning stroll to take in the views of the Barbour. I walked past the Cathedral whilst the Sunday service was on. The singing was really beautiful to listen to so I sat down on a bench and just enjoyed listening. The Cathedral is modest as far as Cathedrals go, but it is part of a very pleasant walk.

Nice church - cathedral by Vanuatu standards. Spacious though. Not really a tourist attraction. Great if you want to pray.
