$17 (AUD) entry fee to spend the day in paradise. This is where the underwater post office is, set in the marine reserve. Excellent snorkeling for all levels, just don't be scared of sea-snakes, as they are common. There is a lovely beach bar for...More

Snorkeling is good here. The water is crystal clear and there is a good variety of marine life to see. Cocktails on the beach are great:) Restrooms are not so great:( Definitely take or wear reef shoes as the beach is all coral

Weather wasn't the best when we went but still the 5 minute boat ride was comfortable. Take coral shoes with you, plenty ouching oohing and arghing going on because someone didn't take proper shoes. Didn't go to far out as I wanted but its ok...More

We had a snorkelling trip here and the fish were very colourful. The food was good too, just a little lunch time cafe but good.

Hideaway was wonderful. It started with a warm greeting as we arrived on the island by boat, followed by the friendly welcome at reception. The caring and accommodating bar and restaurant staff to our vegetarian needs and the patient, knowledgeable and super friendly dive master...More

We had a cab driver bring us to the dock and took the little boat over. Just spent a few hours there and that was enough. The snorkeling was great and very kid friendly, if your kids are good swimmers. Beautiful fish and coral. The...More

Overpriced for a very little strip of beach. Iririki and Erakor island are much better value and much better snorkelling.

Lots of fish to see. The coral is a damaged (probably due to careless toursists who should look with their eyes, not hands and feet) but still pretty. Easy place to introduce kids to snorkelling as very protected from all breezes. Nice to lie on...More

As part of an Atmosphere tour we ended our day here. It was blissful but also informative and we had a very delicious meal. Some of our tour went to feed turtles while others had massages. There really is a lot to see and do...More

We left our stuff stowed under the beach loungers, and didnt have any issues. We went on a non-cruise day, so it wasnt very crowded, and went on our own using the local buses - cost 500 vatu each way per person (~AUD5), and... More
Myself & two boys (14 & 9) will be arriving by P/Dawn to Port Vila at the end of Feb 2018 - the Half day North Efate Snorkelling Adventure states it's $100 pp - have heard that it's relatively easy to find your own way by going to the road & getting a free taxi there yourself; are they really free? I'm not good at directions nor can I speak French; so v nervous about it. We want to be coming away with the most wonderful experiences but want to not pay for a tour if it's just as easy to find our own way - or is it best to pay/book a tour if your novice at it all? We want to post a card at the underwater post office - is it easy to find where to purchase these, if not with a tour? Also really want to go to the Blue Lagoon on the same day is this possible? and do the Big Zipline Track - we unfortunately only have a day visit; so your opinions on what is doable/recommended would be gold. Thk-u.

Hi. Hideaway Island is well worth the visit. The snorkeling there was the best we experienced in Vanuatu. Lots of fish and easily accessible pretty close to the beach. The taxis certainly aren't free but they are very... More
