It's all about the snorkeling. Take the "safari" out to the deeper water and make your way back to the beach along the reef's edge. Remarkable sea life. Don't bother with the glass-bottom boat. Food and drinks are fine, but service can be very slow - even with pre-ordered meals. Still worth the visit.

Visited here with my wife to have a look at the coral and fish life. We were not disappointed as there is a lot of fish life, and nice coral. It is also possible to do a dive here further out where the island drops into blue deep water. The island is made up of coral, which slopes into the... More

If you want an easy place for kids to walk into the water and snorkel with fish, this is pretty good. However, there is very little coral. The food is ordinary and expensive, but you can find a lounge under a tree and drink $6 beers and life is not too bad... P.s. I think the 5-star ratings are paid... More

High prices for everything, staff weren't the most friendly of people and the underwater mailbox and reef were really the biggest upside to the whole trip.

Ok well where do we start. We got there and bought our waterproof postcards. We swam over to a pontoon and started looking for the underwater post office. We got back onto the pontoon, we saw a boat and divers pulling something. When the boat had gone, we swam about 3 metres away from the pontoon and saw a small... More

We visited Hideawy Island for the first time yesterday - it really is the type of place you see on postcards, truly beautiful. As novice snorkelers it had plenty of areas to snorkel in safety & still see plenty of beautiful sea life. For the experienced snorkelets or divers it must be like paradise. Despite having a cruise ship in... More

This island is amazing. It is a must do. The water is so heavy you literally float on it with no effort at all. The fish are amazing. The underwater post office is amazing. Everything here is just perfect

We visited the island twice during our holiday. It was so easy to spend the day here. My daughter really enjoyed the rock pools, collecting shells and feeding the fish. The snorkelling is fantastic! Ferries to and from the island seem to be always operating otherwise you can walk over at low tide. Do not forget your reef shoes and... More

I had spent a week in Vanuatu and had dived with Big Blue and Tranquility dive operations. Both were excellent. I wanted to try Hideaway as I'd heard good things about the diving and service. First the cost - approx $100AUD per dive making it the most expensive dive cost by more than $20AUD compared to the others. I only... More

The coral here is among the best and most abundant on earth and very easily accessible- literally as soon as you step in the water, you're in another world!
