We caught a bus out to Mele where we caught the boat out to Hideaway island on our first day in port Vila. I can't remember exactly but it was about 1200vt pp for a day pass and children slightly cheaper. Snorkelling equipment is extra if you need it . 600vt. The snorkelling is very good and close into shore.... More

Definitely worth a visit. The underwater post office is good fun, the cafe is alright, there's a beautiful sunset. A little ferry takes you from the beach to the island for free and then you pay to enter. Bring reef walkers!

This place is about 30 mins drive out of Pt Vila. Nice to have a twin with tropical fish and coral. Just don't let the taxi talk you into doing a return trip because if you finish early as we did, you wait a couple of hours to get back. There are lots of bus/taxi options there. Don't plan on... Nice easy dives but the area obviously is still recovering from cyclone Pam, visit the area as they need support now more than ever.

A great place to go to... and a lot has been said in the reviews. Recently took my family out for a picnic on the island on a Sunday. A great experience while there and we topped the day by watching the Circus performance at Beach Bar in the afternoon. best to find out the activities at Beach Bar before... More

Had a great day here, easy to get a B bus from port Vila to ferry, pay island entry fee $15/person, hire snorkel $6/person, relaxing beach front setting, wear reef shoes, thongs, shoes...coral is very sharp! Sad that lunch was not that good, had curry beef and meat was very tough, hubby did not enjoy his works burger (he does... More

We took a tour that included a glass-bottomed boat trip, lunch and a snorkel boat trip. We were picked up from our accommodation and taken to a wharf, where we had a very short trip to Hideaway Island. We got our snorkelling gear and ordered our lunch but then had to waste 30-45 mins because we didn’t want to get... More

We took the local bus and then jumped on the ferry to take us across to the island which took about 5 minutes. You check in to the shop on the island to pay your entry fee to be on the island. You could either hire your snorkel and fins or book a snorkelling tour which was guided. We chose... More

Spent the whole day there, relaxing, snorkelling, eating and supping. Great experience and highly recommended. The staff were not quite as friendly as where we had our accommodation sadly. Perhaps it was tourist overload!

Visited on a school trip and stayed for 4 or 5 nights. Loved the locals and the experience they gave us. Brian was pretty cool as he took us through to a church service in the Mele village and to visit the local french and english speaking school. The Ultimate experience. The Australians that managed it need to be more... More
