About
We operate a day trip to Lelepa Island. We pick up our guest from their resort in Port Vila and we drive 30 minutes to Havana Harbor, then board our boats ride for 15 minutes to Lelepa Island. We provide snorkeling on our marine conservation, visit World war 2 relics, visit historical cave, relax on our beautiful beach, meet our local people and see how we live on the islands, and enjoy a delicious beach BBQ lunch. We pick you up from your resort from 8:00am and we return at 4:30 - 5:00pm. We operate everyday except Saturday.Cruise ship passengers are welcomed too. We arrange special timing for you if your ship is leaving at 5:00pm. Most of our guest are so delightedly enjoyed their day out with us on our untouched Island Paradise. You've never been to Vanuatu unless you include Lelepa Island in your bucket list.

The highlight of our stay in Port Vila. It was the most incredible experience from the start to the finish. Our guides had so much local knowledge.
Supplied us with a feast of a delicious lunch. We snorkelled in 2 different spots. One was of the beach which was amazing & the 2nd was of the boats & that was next level. It was like being in an equarium. An abundance of fish. The coral was colourful & different depths.
We visited a cave where they hid in the Cyclone & take the sick.
We visited where a WW2 plane crashed.
Walked through their village , met the friendly locals. The children sang us some beautiful songs & we bought some souvenirs from their market.
Highly recommend this tour.
Thanks so much, Scotty & Shelley.

This is an absolute must do! Not only was it well run, with staff doing everything to make the day a good one, but the quality of the experience was top notch, from good quality snorkeling gear, to a delicious lunch, to fantastic smorkelling spots. And it's run by local Lelape Islanders, so you're supporting the local community.
And as an added bonus, as we were coming back from the second snorkel spot, we had an unexpected whale sighting!! Staff were happy to stop and let us enjoy this extra treat. The group leader told me they've lately seen one or two a week, so you might get lucky.
On top of everything else, this trip is definitely value for money in a country where tourist experiences aren't cheap.
Don't miss this one.

We had a wonderful day. Travel to the island was less than hour and a bonus. Once out of Port Vila you drive through the country and over a steep mountain. Views! The boat trip is short journey to a coral cove where I swam and paddled a sea kiyak and enjoyed morning tea anda meal. Our boat took us out to sea around the island where snorkeling was amazing. I found a cave through a tight passage and saw many fish and corals. The historic cave was amazing and huge. It had cave drawings. The jungle walk was a bit challenging and the village visit really great. Our knowledgeable guide, a village boy shared with us many sociological concepts a belief systems. I loved this. Finally a party of women and children welcomed us to their home in song and taught us a song as we joined in. What fun. A great value day for us and a great way to help an island village people be independent. Loved the day. Thank you Lelepa!

Wonderful day. Visits two snorkling spots, these were good, lots of small fish varieties and some bright coral (but not amazing compared to some spots of the great barrier reef, still beautiful though). At the second spot they feed the fish the lunch left overs, so you are surrounded by fish. Trip includes a visit to a historical cave where the locals once nursed the eldery of the village. The day ends with a visit to the village where you can buy a keepsake, and the gorgeous local children sing for you. Our guide Billy was fantastic. Signs on the prestine secluded beach confirm construction of a resort is starting soon, so make sure you visit now if you want to see it untouched.

In Mid Jan we went on the Lelepa day tour. It was one of the best experiences we had in Vanuatu. The tour was well run and organised. Our hosts Bradley, Gidley and Rubin were very knowledgeable and friendly. During the tour we were taken to 2 places to view the most vivid coral and fish. We also, fed the fish. What made it even better was that our tour group (of 5) were the only people snorkelling and enjoying this magic.
After snorkelling we visited the cave that had culturally significant paintings and Bradley told stories of how the locals would retreat into the cave when cyclones hit the island.
We then walked a little further to the village and were shown how the locals live and the children sang songs. There were local crafts on display to purchase. Each purchase helps the islanders run and operate the island.
Making our way back to the main island we passed over a sunken plane. As the water is so clear you can see the whole plane just lying peacefully as the bottom of the shallow ocean.
We could not thank our hosts enough for the hospitality and friendliness towards us. The insights about village life in Vanuatu was something we will never forget.
5 Star.

I Feel very privileged to be able to do this tour. For approximately NZ $150 we had a full day tour - 8am to 5pm. Transferred from our resort in Port Villa to Lelepa Islanders boats at their jetty. We then went to two snorkelling areas. The first had amazing clear water, This was on Efate, looking out towards Lelepa Island. Lelepa Islanders own the island but also own all the land on this part of Efate. Local mamas sometimes come to this area as there is a stream with fresh water. You had lunch at this destination. The second, where you snorkel off the boat is a locally managed marine area is on the west side of the island. The reef fish were amazing and the water crystal clear. Then back to see an historical cave followed by a walk to the village of Natapao. We were shown local herbs on the way and what they were used for. Local crafts where on display at the village, which you could purchase. Then afternoon tea and a welcome from the local children. Finally a boat ride back to the jetty and transferred back to your resort. I would suggest you may want to bring your own snorkel gear, make sure you have enough vatu to pay the guide and plenty of sunscreen and insect repellent. Perhaps a couple of bottles of water for your own personal use. Great tour guides. Great value for money. These people do live in Paradise. Thanks for letting me have a look.

How blessed were we to be taken on this beautiful trip to Lelepa with a great bunch of tourists from accommodation around Port Vila. Billy, Isaac, Bradley and our other fabulous guides made it such a memorable day - everything was wonderful! We enjoyed every moment - the bus rides to and from the harbour, the boat rides, the bbq lunch (yum!), the snorkelling (amazing!), the cave, and the welcoming experience at the village. Billy also shared knowledge about bush medicines and the children in Lelepa sang so sweetly for us! We are so grateful for your hospitality, knowledge and sense of adventure! We will tell all of our friends and family, Billy! :)

What an amazing experience! This is a must see while you’re in Vanuatu.
From the moment we were picked up by our friendly driver David, to when we left our tour guide Billy (which was like saying goodbye to an old friend) it was a wonderful day!
We were taken by boat to a beautiful private beach where Billy and Kidley (the boat’s captain) cooked the most delicious lunch while we snorkeled and swam in the crystal clear water.
We then traveled across to the island where we saw the amazing fish, corals and also the biggest clams ever! We visited an enormous cave, Billy explained some history and showed us the local plants the village people used for medicines.
Next was a trip through the village where we were greeted by so many smiling faces including a group of beautiful children who sang a special song, just for us! The people are so warm, friendly and very humble, especially our guide Billy.
We purchased souvenirs from the local ladies which helps support the village and enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea.
So many other things, too many to tell. A couple of paragraphs does not do justice to what a special experience this was. It’s a must see!!!

Thanks Billy and the Team. You run a top knotch tour. We visited Lelepa Island and really enjoyed our day. Highlight was the delicious BBQ lunch on the beach and the deep water snorkeling off the boat. Saw the largest Trigger fish I’ve ever seen . Tons of others clownfish that aren’t so shy, groupers, parrotfish, damselfish, anemones, coral in all colours, butterfly fish, and all the usual reef species .
Inspected a WW2 relic and a visited a candlelit cave that sheltered the ailing Chiefton Roi Mata who was buried on Eretoja Island.
Toward the end we got to meet the locals and join in a song with gestures that got us all laughing with and at each other .

A great day hosted by Billy & his team. Snorkelling off the beach followed by a delicious barbecue lunch then a banana boat ride to the back of Lelepa Island for fish feeding & great snorkelling in crystal clear water.
Landed on the island to climb to a cave with Billy telling us about various plant medicines as we walked. The island trip ended with a walk through the village and a farewell song from some of the children. Highly recommended.

Hi Claire. Thank you for asking. Yes we do have availability for this date. Do you want us to pencil your names in our books for the 10th of April?
Can you tell me if the tour from Port Villa will still be operational while Royal Caribbean are building their own infrastructure there to open in 2021 are they planning to make it a private island for cruise passengers only?

I agree thst it might also be difficult to take a one year old. Getting on and off the boat can be a little bit problematic and carrying a newborn make it more so.

I booked it through them online. just google lelepa tours. You can book and pay online or pay the driver on the day. We paid on the day and found that it was cheaper to pay in AU$ instead of local currency with the exchange rate. So just have enough AU$ in cash to pay for it. Hope you enjoy it. We surely did.
Also book other tours with Bountiful Tours and Transfers. They can tailor make your tours to where you want to go to. They are really friendly local tour guides. We did 2 day tour with them and had a great time.

It’s 10,900 Vatu and at the moment the NZ$ is about 73 vatu per NZ$1. So about NZ$150 per person. We initially thought it was expensive but it’s honestly worth every cent!

Hi, there wasn’t a half day option available at the time we went. I think you’d lose some of the magic if they tried to condense the tour. Hope you can squeeze it into your itinerary!

You BoJ it through your hotel on arrival It is around $100 per adult and $50 per child but is the best tour in Vanuatu, you won't be disappointed, just brilliant!!
