- Neil WSydney, Australia117 contributionsPicturesqueLovely 20 to 30 minute walk through forest along mainly dirt track passing the various small cascades to your right. The main falls at the end of the track are beautiful, falling a couple of metres into a large pool where people were swimming and sitting under the cascade. Can walk through the water along the top of the falls and slide or jump into the pool as well as a swing rope if brave enough to try. Access to pool via a small set of wooden steps appeared a little precarious. Change room, which we did not use, is at the beginning of the track. I had heard that the track is slippery but we found it safe and don't feel it would be a problem in rain.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 13, 2023
- FayPrahran, Australia131 contributionsBeautiful but try to beat the cruise passenger influx. So beautiful. A short walk along a safe path to the falls. A rope swing for the young and young at heart into the falls. Shady places to sit both in and out of the water. Try to avoid the influx of cruise ship tourists. Check the port schedule to understand arrival of ships.Visited January 2024Traveled with friendsWritten January 4, 2024
- Justin TBrisbane, Australia27 contributionsGreat place to cool off and have some funGreat place to spend an hour or two with teens with the bonus of being a great place to cool off in fresh water. The lower pool would better suit those less adventurous who just want to cool off. But for those a little more adventurous head to the top pools with the rope swing, high jumping platform and water fall. My teens loved it and even my wife who is a little more reserved jumped off the high platform. Once in you can swim under the waterfall. The current of the stream is quick strong but with Simon’s (local owner) assistance our whole family got under the falls. They also have floatation vests for those who may have difficulty with swimming. It cost 1500 vat (20aud) per adult (12 and over) and 500vat for children. I thought it was well worth itVisited January 2024Traveled with familyWritten January 17, 2024
- Jennifer L17 contributionsPricey attraction againLovely waterfall , easy walking. Plenty of shade . Ladder into water too rickety to use for older people.Poor Maintenance , Would have preferred a swim here than blue hole.Water was cleaner . Although Vanuatu is pricing itself out of tourists as $20 pp to visit is way too much to pay for a mediocre waterfall.Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 2, 2024

We decided to visit rarru instead of Mele cascades as of is owned and run by locals, unlike Mele. The paths are well maintained, it’s a pretty walk to the falls. There obviously hadn’t Ben much rain as the waterfall was a trickle over the rocks. The waterholes were smelling stagnant and green slime everywhere. The water was very clear however. We didn’t swim because of this and were pretty disappointed. It cost around $60 aus for 3 adults/1 child which is a complete waste of money in my opinion. It’s a 5 min walk to the falls only to turn around and come back. But I’d rather give the money to locals rather than overseas owners.

A beautiful 10 minute walk alongside the river the falls. Swimming , diving off a platform , floating in a tyre-tube. All looked after by a very friendly and helpful lady named Kasu. Fresh- fruit snacks laid out near the car- park completed a memorable visit.

We hired a taxi and did a day trip involving the cascades, the turtle bay sanctuary and Blue Lagoon. The Rarru cascades were easily our favourite part of the day. We were lucky with some heavy rain in the days prior resulting in beautiful clear running water which was pristine to swim in. Loads of fun jumping from landings and rope swings. Inflatable tubes to float along in. Looked like something out of a rainforest dream!

We visited in February 2020. It was only a short 10 minute walk to the falls. Fresh tropical fruit provide half way along by some lovely local ladies (free). We gave them some Aussies $$ as appreciation but definitely not expected. The swimming at the end was excellent. Very fresh refreshing water. Some rope swings for the adventurous and a platform higher up for the thrill seekers. Locals are there assisting swingers, jumpers and swimmers. There are some car tyre inner tubes to grab and float around on. We used Mad Max tours and were very well looked after.

We had been told the falls were well worth it but we were very disappointed. The pools were covered in green slime and had a funny smell.
Falls were low and not impressive-maybe we expected too much.
1500 Vatu was way overpriced!
Probably great for kids, swinging into the water. Not our cup of tea!

Beautiful falls to visit in jungle like setting. The teens were happy to jump in off the rope swing but due to the cyclonic activity the current was very strong so much of the experience was off limits. Lots of lovely butterflies and flowers. We visited as part of a tour. Spent around 1/2 hr there. Not much there but the walk next to the cascades.
Lots of fire ants around which give a nasty sting. If you do get stung put hand sanitiser on straight away for relief.

I loved swimming here!
Cool climate, stunning water temp!
An easy 10 min walk up to the top falls.
Importantly owned and run by locals - compared to Mele.
Depending on the recent falls, the flow will change - but people can't change that.
Great swim!
I think it was 1000Vat ea to get in (might have been 1500vat)

This is a really beautiful place. I enjoyed the walk (which I did in flip flops) and the views. Unfortunately when trying to enjoy the tranquility of travelling alone in such a peaceful place I kept being bothered by one of the lifeguards who kept checking on me every two minutes. In the end I left but I thought it was stunning!

We were lucky to arrive early so there were only a few other people there and the kids were able to jump in and get the rubber tubes. Theres place to jump in which are high and there's rope swings but you do have to be cautious as there are also rocks in the water ( But the water is clear so you can see them ) There's a small waterfall you can swim under.I was happy just floating in a tube and watching the kids tricks. Definitely worth visiting, great for photos and entertaining for the kids but try to get there early as by the time we left it was really busy.

Hi, what would you like to know about this attraction? Hi, can you please confirm the entry fees for adults and children, or family passes? Thanks in advance

I think it was about 1500 VAT for us.. not worth it IMO.. Blue Lagoon is much better value.. we could've stayed all day

Hello,
I’ve heard there are two sides to enter the falls on and that one side is better than the other. Can anyone tell me which side? Thanks
Written February 10, 2019
Hmm...I wasn’t aware of the two entry points. I guess we went to the “main” entry as it seemed everything (toilets, Shop etc) was at the start of the walk. It was a beautiful walk to the actual falls this way, but I have nothing to compare it to. (Not much help, I’m afraid!)

Is this a good place for low mobility people? I can walk but have bad balance and a vision problem.
Written May 27, 2018
Hi Sheri1990 the path is well maintained but it is a bit of a walk up to the swimming area & main cascades. The path has a gentle incline upwards with timber railings in places. I am due to have a knee replacement and found the walk to be manageable. I did go there with my son & daughter who were able to help if I needed it. Hope this helps you will love it if you do decide to go.
