Was lovely day outside of Honiara, in my opinion worth the walk. We got the phone number for the Chief of the village to have a guide take us to the waterfall and they watched our cars. We chose to walk along the riverbed which is slighly longer with river crossings but very beautiful walk through Solomon Islands bush.

This is a beautiful place to visit if you are staying in or around Honiara. You can enquire at the visitors bureau in town and join an organised group or just hire a driver and a taxi to Tenaru. Be prepared to pay for kastom fee and a guide when you arrive. Our guide did the trek with a couple... More

Be prepared for a one hour each way walk that can at times be testing. The scenery is great, the falls themselves really good. What is the problem is the haggling over the custom fee when you arrive (whites are double that of locals) and your guide will be intoxicated on solbrew and betel nut before you start.

An easy walk. Allow minimum 6 hours all up. Allow 2 hours each way walking, prepare for substantial wading. Take bathers and a picnic. Take high clearance 4WD, preferably two in convoy carrying tow rope. Take guides, even if you know the way, if they don't like the weather, listen to them. Do not go if there is surface water... The calming Breeze of the Surrounding with its Natural Beauty has caresing Joy as I felt the cleanliness of The Terrestrial Environment. Since I Just can't believe and enjoyed the Beauty of The Surroundings, The Fauna Presence in the Zone here also enjoyed a bigger deal too.

This place is way out of town and a long trek in the bush to get there but once there it's worth it. Beautiful and natural.

Tenaru Falls is a great day out but plan to spend the whole day, it is a very long walk in and out. You need to arrange a guide in advance - the Tourism Bureau next to Mendana Hotel is the best place to start. Tenaru is on the eastern side of the airport and from town it is probably... More

Tenaru Falls is a spectacular waterfall, falling about 60ft into a clear deep pool. After the 2-2.5hour walk though the jungle to the falls you are more than ready for a swim in the surprisingly cool pool. The walk is relatively flat, but there are a lot of river crossings so your feet will get very wet, and there are... More
